One of my friends described Tolkien himself as very dry, and I thought it was accurate. I have a friend who can watch the extended versions of every movie in one sitting, I can barely watch one in one sitting myself.

Aye, I miss a sense of accomplishment and thrill of getting something unique. Wasn't a big fan of prereqs in hind sight, but when I finally got that first level in a PrC it felt pretty awesome.

I have never encountered anything in the game that I thought was truly broken.
I like the way Paizo designs NPCs and Iconics (purposefully non-optimized).
I hate Monks with the fury of a thousand suns. I've hated them in every edition of the game. I think the entire concept of the Monk class is ridiculous.
I also dislike all the Eastern and pseudo-Oriental stuff and all the drama it brings (katanas the greaterest swords ever invented!).
I think the Off-Topic Forum is a cesspit.
I only read the Rules forum because I like to watch people have meltdowns over the silliest of rules.

I have a friend who can watch the extended versions of every movie in one sitting, I can barely watch one in one sitting myself.
A friend and I have been talking about a one-day LotR extended-edition marathon for years, but it hasn't happened yet. And I'm not sure whether I'm disappointed at losing the potential geek milestone, or relieved that I have enough of a life to make it impractical.

Every barbarian I play is a Conan clone complete with a (badly) drawn portrait painstakingly traced from a Frank Frazetta cover (warning: NSFW).
Also, every character that I play is a barbarian.
Owning more dice than you can conveniently carry means you’re one step from being on Hoarders.
Aside from those, like me, who host the game, and have a big bucket o' dice for loaners. :D

Here's one I've seen cause contention on boards.
I host the game. This is not a dinner, this is not a BBQ, this is a game session. I will not cook a meal or provide snacks. Everybody brings what they want to eat, and it works just fine that way.
As a group we can always pool money for Pizza or chips though.

I like D&D/Pathfinder's objective morality/alignment. None of that silly modern "there is no black or white, only shades of grey" carp.

At risk of being beaten with sticks:
-I reinstated SoD spells, as well as experience costs for crafting magic items and casting Wish.
-I don't use the WPL rules.
-I replaced the base Golarion gnomes with the Dragonlance Tinker Gnomes (though in all honesty, I also did this with 3e/3.5).
-I don't really like the way elves are portrayed in the game.
-I think the game's art is very well excecuted, but save for a handful of exceptions, I don't like it. Then again, my idea of the perfect D&D-style art is that of AD&D 2e, so take my evaluation with a grain of salt.
-I actually like the Alignment and Vancian Casting systems a lot.

I think it was something like a dollar a plus? Thiswas back in second ed and in high school btw. Money was hard to come by.

As much as I play Pathfinder, I don't care much for the D20 system.
As for Pathfinder itself, I really don't like it's bewildering level of complexity. Way too many fiddly bits for me.

I've played with people of various political and religious stripes and we've enjoyed each other's company just fine. (Also "straight" is on your list? Like 90% of us are straight, bro. We just have the good sense to act gay in public.)

I have done the same...and have watched all the Marvel's Phase one movies (Iron Man, Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America, The Avengers) all in one sitting.
I plan on doing a Hobbit/LotR weekend when I can.

Personally, I like moderation in moderation. I think the Paizo mods are fairly even-handed, though I recently wrote a post and then thought "That was flag-worthy?" when it disappeared a day later. Can't remember what it was though.
My favorite lvls are 1 to 5. After that i lose interest, i blame the power creep.
While I appreciate Tolkien for putting down the stepping stones of fantasy, i find him uninteresting as a person and his writing drab and boring. The movies are over-rated and the Hobbit was downright appaling.
4e had some incredibly good ideas, too bad it was so boring to play.

I went and created an account and browsed the board a bit and frankly I couldn't find a single thing that I thought was worth commenting on. Mostly what I saw seemed like a lot of edition wars, 4e bashing, PF bashing, and Dnd Next bashing.
Lots of... well... bashing.
If there's something worth visiting there, it eluded my first look.
Oh, and if they did try to run me out on a rail TOZ, I might just leave on my own, but if I wanted to stay, they could ban me I suppose, but I don't know what I could say that would warrant banning.
The only times I've ever been banned from any site in the interwebz is when I made my opinion of the moderators and moderating clear. :)

I think evil races and evil acts are evil for a reason.
Because otherwise you are playing traveling murder hobos.
I think 99% of the people who want to play "good" drow were people who are deeply attention starved and the 1% who actually can pull it off hate the other 99% for ruining it for them.
I think finding an interesting angle on an old trope is 1000 times more interesting than an absurd concept being forced into the setting, and I would rather play with a boring player with a done to death concept than a snowflake player with a concept that is screaming "LOOK AT ME!" constantly.
I think the GM should rule, and the players should either trust them enough to go along to see where it is going, or revolt en masse between session and appoint a new ruler to run a new campaign, because life is too short to waste 4 to 6 hours on milk toast games.
I believe that sometimes your character dying is the best thing that can happen in a campaign. And I believe if you don't think your GM will do it, the game is not nearly as interesting.
I believe in things making sense, and in GM's following decisions to logical consequences.
I believe Paladins should strive to be paragons, and temptation is not a trap.
And most of all I believe bad GM's and bad players find each other, because none of the rest of us are putting up with that crap.

I really liked the movie Willow.
I've only ever called into work sick once and I wasn't really sick. Errol Flynn's Robin Hood was on followed by the Last Starfighter and I was out of vacation days.
Whenever Dune is on I have to watch it. All of it.
I bawl like a baby whenever I hear Puff the Magic Dragon.
I own a guinea pig named Corpsegrinder. I had hoped naming it Corpsegrinder would make it a less lame animal to own, but no, it's still pretty lame.
I think The Last Dragon is the pinnacle of American cinema, which should rightfully invalidate all my views on any form of entertainment.
In a survival situation my only use would be as a source of protein for the people that actually have applicable skills.
Whenever Dune is on I have to watch it. All of it.
I hold a glimmering taper of hope that someday within my lifetime, Dune will get the good directing, talented actors, and high production values it deserves.
Because anyone who's ever read Dune will know that it's made for the big screen!
