Update!
Diplomacy is now more detailed, trade routes have been fixed, expanded settlement statistics have been introduced, forms of government... yeah, I think that's everything for this one.
For the record, I still have a copy of the last version stored - I'll share it by PM to anyone interested. Since we're getting into the realm of the optional rules, I'll try to be careful about maintaining backups of each version.
Not quite as big an update as I was hoping for, but I wanted to get it out there for everyone. Plenty more to come!
This thing just keeps on getting better!!! Awesome job!
A few things if I could.
When I add Improved weapons to an army it increases the DV, but I think it should increase the OM.
I may be misunderstanding Healing Potions, but when I add healing potions to an army it increases the consumption by 3 automatically. But healing potions are only supposed to increase consumption for the week each time they are used. So it really shouldn't be added to the consumption and the player should just take it off each time he uses a healing potion.
Maybe add a spot in an army for Reserve? Then the consumption is only added once instead of four times. Would even be nice for a note on where it is in reserve.
Thanks for all your hard work!!!
Konrad

Chemlak,
Any plan to correct the drop-down cell validity issue in future sheets?
In essence, instead of using xsml 'names', using the actual Sheet/Cell reference in the validity option? For example, in the Law/Chaos axis of alignment, the validity option was set to:
AlignLawChaos
I changed it to:
$'Drop Down'.$F$2:$F$4
and it works fine.
That's the only problem with it being used natively in OpenOffice. The GoogleDocs conversion appears to hit some absolute upper limit in memory size for converting from .ods to google sheet. Thus, I fear it would need to be rebuilt from scratch in Google Docs to work there.
Edit: Or have another sheet with the definitions so those that want to hand-replace could do so without hunting down the links?
Thanks again.

Yes, planning to do it. First time I tried I hit a few snags with Excel and ended up screwing a load of things up. Yay for backups! I work on an offline version of the sheet for exactly that reason. Alternatively, if someone wants to do a find/replace exercise and send me the result, I'll happily use it. PM me for my email address.
On the plus side, in a couple of weeks, life goes back to normal for me (got a stag party and wedding to go to) and I'll be able to do more.

I already did the find/replace for everything for the current version you just released. However, it took 4 hours and in the process, I had to recreate a lot of formulas, something I would not want to do again for the next update. after some digging, you might want to check how you are defining the names of these ranges. I saw a lot of duplication that were sheet specific and not universal for the whole spreadsheet. That might be what's causing the breaks.

Hi, just found your sheet today after searching for something like this for about 2 days straight. So first off, THANK YOU!
Now, seems I found a slight bug? Maybe? I am not entirely sure how you are doing settlement specific stats (lore, crime, productivity, society, etc), but whenever I plop down a Monastery, nothing seems to happen. The stability goes up appropriately, but the lore and law doesn't budge.
I am using the converted to .ods format, could that be causing an issue?

![Drow](http://cdn.paizo.com/image/avatar/spireoflongshadow_swordfix.jpg)
Could be a bug. Tzizimine is our resident Open Office expert, so if there is a problem unique to the converted version, he's the best person to identify it. I'll check the Excel version later, just to be sure.
Edit: also, just thought - the current version of the sheet is using the Expanded Settlement Modifiers optional rule: if the Kingdom as a whole has a higher bonus than the settlement, the settlement will use the Kingdom's bonus, which might be causing the effect you're seeing.
And I'll take a crack at converting the array references again, see if we can get a truly universal sheet.

Right, fixed the Monastery. Hosted version has that fix in it.
And my first full attempt at redefining the drop down menu arrays has been done, which should allow the sheet to work in Open Office. I've sent a copy to tzizimine to check out for me. If I get the okay, I'll pop it straight up.
Right now I never again want to see the term "='Drop Down'!"
See you all soon!

I don't mind bugs being pointed out here in the slightest. It's not as if I have some rigorous bug-reporting process in place. Just don't expect me to fix things particularly fast - I certainly try to, and manage to get many bugs squashed within a day, but I can't put any sort of guarantees on it.

So, just started prepping for running a campaign for my players, ended up deciding on Kingmaker, reading through find Kingdom rules and the like. Look online for streamlining help and the such, Ultimate Campaign and it seems in many ways overwhelming, so continue looking for tools and spreadsheets to help my grasping/layout/etc and lets face it, if it's too tedious, the players get bored... bored players=danger..
So then, I find this sheet... Holy f+@~ I'm even more overwhelmed than when I started.... :P
Incredibly detailed sheet. Hope to wrap my head around the various components... but wow, incredible sheet.

Always nice to see someone taking an interest in the Kingdom rules. Yeah, they can seem a little overwhelming at first, but they're actually not much different to creating a character.
If you own a copy of Ultimate Campaign, that would be my first suggestion: go through chapter 4, and read all of the examples. It's laid out pretty clearly, and walks you through the information you need in fairly simple steps.
If you don't have UCam, make a number of NPCs (all you really need are ability scores, names, and skills if you're using that optional rule) and run through setting up a kingdom with them with a 50 Build Point starting budget, and do, say, 12 kingdom turns (representing 1 year of game-time). Just take each phase of the kingdom turn one at a time (each step is laid out on the spreadsheet, for ease of reference).
And if you have any questions, ask here on the boards.

Gonna say real quick, that my Kingmaker game has ballooned into 4 out of the 5 players having their own little mini-kingdoms, and this file has helped immensely. Thanks for keeping up with it.
My question is this: If I want to keep up with whatever updates there are to the sheet, is there an easy way to "translate" data without having to re-enter everything?
Also, have you ever considered making a character sheet in similar fashion to this kingdom sheet (auto-calculating, clean layout, etc.) Because that would just be the best thing ever! :D

It can be a bit overwhelming and slow going at first, but to be honest, it's not that bad, it can even be very quick once you get the hang of it. We did 7 kingdom phases last friday (7 in game months.) The first one took about an hour to an hour and a half, the other 6 took 10-20 minutes a piece.

Hah! You should be so lucky. Ignore a tooltip error? Nevah! I'll take a look when I get the chance.
In answer to your earlier question, unfortunately I can't think of a way to code up an export/import to help people transfer kingdom info to new versions, so for right now it's a case of manually copying all the information across.

I'm afraid I can't offer any suggestions regarding character sheets - I use Hero Lab, which costs a pretty penny, but works quite well enough for my needs. And no, I'm not planning to take a stab at writing a character generator - the kingdom sheet is more than enough to keep me going!

I have to agree with you - Chemlak is a god! :)
However - re the character sheet...Have you tried s-CoreForge?
They're a group on the net who do sheets etc & have one for Pathfinder.
I use it.
They're always updating it...& for me, the best thing is it's free.
I have friends with HeroLab...& that's great apparently, but you pay for
everything, including upgrades when new books hit the market.

Update!
Same link for the Excel one as usual. Please wait for an update on the Open Office version.
Fixed a couple of minor bugs, added a new "Titles" column for leaders on the Overall sheet, and I am now in the process of working my way through the last few UCam rules - I have a good candidate for the Deities and Holy Sites rule, just needs prettying up and the modifications adding to the right parts of all 25 city sheets... (have I ever mentioned how much I hate making changes to the City sheets?)
So close. Down to the last three things I want to implement before the UCam version is "finished".
And then I will curse Jason Nelson as I try to tackle Ultimate Rulership.

Looks like Alchemist and Market are missing tooltips.
Um, you don't mind if I point out little bugs here, do you? I don't want you to feel like I am pressuring you for something that is AMAZING already...
I find myself with a little free time on my hands. Kalnoch, I'm getting good tooltips off both of these buildings, so I'm not sure what the issue is, since I can't seem to replicate it.
Which worksheet is this problem occurring on? Can you give me a cell reference? Or, failing that, a screenshot: my email address is my username at blueyonder dot co dot uk
Thanks!

Open Office version should be up, same link as before (I can repost the links if people wish, but they can be found HERE).
If there are any problems with it, please let me know.
Due to the size of the sheet, I'm currently unlikely to be able to make a version for Google Docs that has the same functionality as the Excel and OO versions. I will investigate creating a cut-down version for GDocs once I've "finished" it.

I would like to thank you for making these spreadsheets.
I'm currently running a Kingmaker campaign and these would help a lot.
If you could get a Google Doc version up an running, I would be very grateful. My group is planning to use Google hangout to cover the city building parts over weeknights, leaving the main story for our weekend game.
Having a Google Doc version means we can use hangout's Google drive to all view and share the changes to the city.
Thanks again.

Well, depending on my mood tonight, I'll see if I can fit in a bit more work on the sheet. Can't promise an actual update, but we'll see how it goes. I'm pretty happy with the Deity and Holy sites implementation I've come up with, but making the necessary changes to the city sheets to make everything work properly is going to take some fiddling behind the scenes. Followed by the usual rigmarole with 25 city sheets (I'll stop harping on about that at some point, I promise).
After that, I need to squeeze in user-defined settlement statistic modifications (far less of a chore) to help with settlement specific event tracking.
And then comes the big job: the task I've been thinking of as "The Grand Rebuild", where I'll make the city sheets refer to the Buildings sheet instead of their own references for the effects buildings have. Doing this will have a couple of effects: firstly, it will reduce the number of cells each city sheet has in use; and it will also mean that changes to the Buildings sheet will filter through automatically to all city sheets.
Once that's out of the way, I can strip out a couple of useless sheets that are currently hidden, to pare down the number of cells even more, and then I'll feel comfortable looking into a Google Docs version, since the Excel version will be as small as I think I can make it.
And then comes Ultimate Rulership.

Doing a cardinal messageboard sin here. (did not search the whole thread and look for possible reposting)
There is some discussion on population density and if I wanted lower population than 250 per lot/claimed hex where one should try to alter it?
this for my own campaign world use and I love the sheets :)
lost track of the version but after titles update on open office version the ruler dropdown gives error.

Population is calculated in two places that I can think of: the Overall sheet in the population cell and each city sheet. You'd need to unprotect those sheets and edit the population calculation cells. It would be fairly easy for me to add a "population density" user-defined cell to allow this to be customised. Of course, once I get into the Ultimate Rulership changes, it all goes a bit haywire.
And another thing to look at in the Open Office version. Darn. Thanks for the heads up!

Just wanted to give people a heads-up regarding the state of progress on the sheet: due to a family emergency I've barely even switched my compy on, let alone opened up the spreadsheet. I've been posting to the boards on my iPad when I've had the chance.
Progress is on a temporary hiatus whilst said emergency is ongoing (got some promising news less than an hour ago, actually), so as I'm sure you can imagine I've basically done nothing.
Since the most recently identified bugs have been on the OO version, if anyone can fix it for me and send me a copy, I'm more than happy to look it over and host it (my email address is buried in the text of a post I made on 20 January in this thread).
In the meantime, please bear with me.
Thanks.

I just downloaded the Excel version of Chemlak's sheet (5.2c). Looks great so far. However, after inputting my characters on the 'Rulers' sheet I goto the 'Overall' sheet and try to assign them. The Ruler role has all the characters available on the dropdown, the second ruler has only a few of them actually appear. The Consort and Councilor fewer still. All of the rest don't show anything at all.
Anyone else experiencing this on a brand new (or current) sheet?
