Is there a "New Paths: The Expanded White Necromancer" out there somewhere? Because I want it.
Hey there DungeonmasterCal!
Very nice to see love for the White Necromancer! There will indeed be a New Paths: The Expanded White Necromancer! It's not out yet, but it's been written, edited and, if I'm not mistaken, is in the final development phase. If I had to guess, I'd say it should be out in a month or two :)
Just as a tease (I seem to be doing that a lot in this thread :) The Expanded White Necromancer has additional spells and a couple archetypes which I'm very happy with. One in particular I think is pretty interesting ...
OK, back on topic!
Much requested, add-ons are now LIVE on the Kickstarter!

SKWEEEE!!!!! Sorry, when I read your spoiler I turned momentarily into a teen girl. Now I can't wait for the White Necromancer...along with a bunch of other stuff that just seems over the horizon this summer.

In the above vein, I just turned in my portion of Deep Magic to Wolfgang and I don't think I have ever been so excited about getting my hands on a bunch of new spells.
Now that I have been eyeball deep in the insane alchemy of the derro for a while now, going all the way back to Midgard Tales, I may need some re-education to return to normal society. If you like alchemists and like weird and wonderful, I think you will be pleased with the new extracts.

This could just be my vision-impaired self talking, but I didn't see anything about summoners in the table of contents...
Hrm ... Somehow, the summoner spell list in the New Spells chapter wriggled out of the table of contents that we used for the mockup. There are definitely some summoner spells already included in the book, and there's a good chance there will be more.
There's also a planned section called Fool's Summonings, which the always-awesome Sir Pett is penning. So yeah, we have summoner love planned for this book. :)

Update #13
"Kobold Press has teamed up with Dreamscarred Press to provide a Kickstarter-exclusive classic crossover! We are offering you a chance to see 11 psionic powers written up as Vancian magic spells and to see 12 intriguing new spells from the Deep Magic sourcebook turned into psionic powers, including Mythic psionic powers. The resulting Resonance Generator PDF will also include a section on reskinning psionic powers into a mana system for arcane spells.
This 8-page PDF will be provided free of charge to all backers who support both the Psionic Miniatures Kickstarter at $10 or higher and the Deep Magic Kickstarter at the $15 level or higher. The PDF will ship in January, 2014, and will not be available elsewhere."
I recall Wolfgang answered the question in the main KS comments. The two projects will compared their roster of backers. Anyone who meets the criteria will qualify for the crossover perk. They'll know.

Ha ha ha! Not .... quite sure how I feel about having that sort of effect on people, but I'm certainly glad to see the anxious anticipation for The Expanded White Necromancer! ;)

Thanks. I tend not to read a lot of the KS comments. I pledge, watch the stretch rewards grow and chuckle to myself about how much extra I'm getting. And to be honest this was only my 4th kickstarter. I'll have to read the comments more often.

The comments can be a little overwhelming for a project as big as this one. The Updates, though, are always worth your while.
That is, for example, where we announced the iOS and Android spellbook app for the project, and also the Kobold Guide to Magic announcement, etc. I am saving Updates for calling out the BIG new stuff.

Pledged!
I have to say, even if I hadn't recently discovered the awesome that is the Midgard Campaign Setting, this would have been a must-buy just for the expansion of magic schools/sources, etc.
That said, however, this is the first time I've ever jumped on the good ship Kickstarter -- it just wasn't my thing. In the spirit of positive feedback, I have to share what pushed me over the edge: the Hero Lab files.
Honestly, if there were Hero Lab files for all of the Midgard books at this point, Golarion would already be my "fallback" campaign setting. While all of the stretch goals sound fantastic, having a book with this much content with full Hero Lab support made this an instant "must pledge".
Congrats mighty Kobolds. Looking forward to this and more to come!

So I was kinda curious about something. I'll be entitled to write two spells for your product, I believe, but I wasn't interested in writing two spells so much as writing one spell and then writing a mythic version of that spell using the mythic spells in the Mythic Playtest document as examples to base my design around (going off the assumption that the system as presented in that document will be fairly close in the final book).
Assuming that I kept to the word limit and recognized the inherit risk (I don't have two tries to get into the book but rather one try and another try that not only hinges on the other spell getting in but you also liking the idea), would this be able to be a valid entry?

I aksed Wolfgang in the Kickstarter. He said that we are encouraged to submit a spell with a mythic element to it. Here a is example of Deep Magic spell with mythic elements to it.
From the submission guideline, we can write a total of 300 words per spell, but if a spell is 200 words long the second spell can be 400 words long (or less). I do not know if you can submit one 600 word spell.
Contrary to RPG superstar, you can post your spell idea in a public forum and get people's review. There isa subreddit forum for that (I do nto have the link). I think it is safe to post it here.
Remember, you have til the end of monday to submit it. If you join the KS, send a message to Wolfgang to get all the info.

Ok, I know this is a tease, but I just can't help myself! There are some great stretch goals coming after that huge $100k goal, but one in particular comes at the 2,001 backer mark and it's really cool!
With only 3 days left, hitting 2,001 backers is by no means a sure thing BUT I really, really hope we get there because this one is just awesome with 6 extra layers of awesome! I literally haven't been able to stop thinking about since I found out what it was :)

Sorry, just a touch confused with all the pledge levels. What level is best if I want the hard-copy (of both books is preferable). I don't really care about Hero-lab or iPad apps, exclusive pdf's are good but I rarely use them.
Apologies for the question, but between all the options and the locked levels it's quite tricky to work out where I'd like to pledge.

Good point, at this stage most Kickstarters are loaded up with reward options, and Deep Magic is in a similarly lucky position.
I've just created a "TWO BOOKS IN PRINT" option that is similar to the PRINT ONLY rewards, but for both the hardcover Deep Magic book and the Kobold Guide to Magic. Might be just what you ar looking for.
Three days left!

Good questions!
Will there be any option to add-on a "normal" hardcover for someone that's getting the leatherette? Are my only options for that to create a second backer account, or wait for the retail release?
You could add a print-only add-on if you like, though that only works in the US.
Outside the US, you might need to wait for retail release. Not sure that a second account helps in this case.
And, at that, will the Kickstarter hardcover differ in any way from the retail release?
Well, yes. The Runebound edition won't exist at retail. And of course at retail shipping won't be free for the US, and the Hero Labs files and all the other extras cost more at retail.
The main hardcover, though, is in one version. If you pick one up at your FLGS it should look the same, just without the extras.

@Brian, if you want to add a second copy of the hardcover to your pledge, and you live in the US, you would be adding a PRINT ONLY reward tier. So, add $40 and you'll get two hardcovers instead of one.
@Fabius, the cost of the final product has increased as it went from softcover to hardcover, and as the page count has increased. It will be a minimum of $40 for the Deep Magic hardcover. We'll have a better sense of the final price when the Kickstarter portion is over, but it won't be any less than that. I don't think the hardcover price will go over $50 at retail.
Retail costs for the spellbook app, Hero Lab files, Kobold Guide to Magic, and other items have not yet been set.

I must admit, I am confused about what parts of what products contain what in this kickstarter.
Question #1: I'm interested in getting the kickstarter-generated game PDFs. It appears that the Digital PDF-Only level, plus the Kobold's Guide to Magic add-on, would get me all that. Is that correct?
Question #2: What is the Kobold's Guide to Magic, exactly? Is it a sort of "how to design your own magic system" book?
Question #3: I have heard that Open Design/Kobold Press has, in the past, published a significant portion of their game material as closed content [which I find ironic]. Is this true? If so, is it still true? If so, how much of this project will be open content? [Note that I am more likely to back this project if it is open content.]

This link to the Kickstarter Updates section might give you a little more info on Kobold Guide to Magic
Regarding Open Content, despite the rather inexplicable claims to the contrary by one or two folks some time ago, most of what Kobold Press publishes is (and always has been) open content.
My understanding is that the vast majority of Deep Magic will indeed be open content - the obvious exception being product identity material relating to the Midgard campaign setting etc.
Believe me, Kobold Press very much supports the OGL!

Question #1: You are correct. The only things you would not get from the current rewards are the adventure, the Hero Lab files, and the iOS/Android app.
Question #3: I am able to officially confirm that the Deep Magic spells, archetypes, and bloodlines will all be open content.
The art, short fiction, NPCs, any setting names and sidebars, and similar material will be product identity, very much like Paizo's books.
