It depends. I live in a large college town and I come from a large family of left leaning political activists going back three generations.

So, you'll understand if I find socialism a bit tiring these days.

For the record, while I wouldn't label myself a socialist, I'm definitely a liberal.

@ Ambrosia Slaad:

Re: The Other Stuff.... I have a question...if you have smashed through the walls of self-repression...would that not be a good thing? If it is not a good thing...why do you feel the need to repress yourself?

I've tried to reply to this twice in the last few days, and both times it turned into a rambling radioactive maudlin dump. I mean, it felt good to write it all out, but no one should be subjected to reading it.

I'm don't think I've smashed through my old walls of repression, or even ended my habit of self-repression. A couple days ago, I ran across a thread on Twitter from a handful people with anxiety disorders, and they all seemed to feel suddenly calm and collected by this pandemic. The thinking was that finally the outside world was providing visible, tangible proof to everyone else of the real threats and dangers driving our overclocked anxiety-focused minds. No ones anxieties had gone away, but there was surprising relief gained by seeing it manifest. Which seems twisted, I know, but it fits, at least to my miswired brain's thinking.

Selene Spires wrote:
I have repressed myself most of my life...growing up I had a speech impediment (still do really) that caused myself to repress myself socially...it felt great. All my life I have been repressing my true self/gender...and still have to in most situations and the fact I have to tears me up inside.

I am so sorry that you, and far too many others, continue to feel the need to repress and restrain yourselves to try and fit into this brutally, often unforgivingly, conformist society. How much better everyone's lives would be if society could simply recognize the commonalities -- the basic goodness, hopes, and need for community -- we all share, instead of letting fear and ignorance drive us into fighting as Insiders and Outsiders?

You deserve better than you've gotten, and done damn well playing the crappy hand you were dealt. I am heartened by the big steps you've taken so far. I hope you remember to give yourself credit for what you've already accomplished, and that those successes (and your friends) can give you the energy you need to continue further on your journey to becoming your fully-actualized authentic self.

Selene Spires wrote:
I believe you are a wonderful person who has at times of my lowest have given me words of encouragement when I needed them the most. It is kinda depressing to think of you repressing yourself.

I am terrible at accepting compliments, but thank you. Too many people do what we need to do just to survive our families, our peers, and our spiritual communities. It's only later that the survivors start to recognize the damage done, and try to work around or repair what we can.

If you like toys I highly recommend The Toys That Made Us on Netflix.

It's my favorite documentary series.

I did not have any specific toy line I loved...

There was a toy set that I loved it was a fantasy themed playsets with a bunch of fantasy plastic figures kinda like toy army men but orcs, elves etc.

There were two sets one was a dungeon and the other was a castle being attacked by a army of monsters.

How do you feel about importing fictional characters into Pathfinder/Starfinder?

I am not against as long as it is well done...

And for some characters not overdone...

Is Taarna the Tarakian a Pathfinder or Starfinder character?
I could definitely see her in both.

Perhaps I'm going about this in the wrong way. Rather then directly translating Taarna the Tarakian to Pathfinder, perhaps a homage would be better.

In Your Opinion, what are the "essential" elements of the character? i.e., what would be the goals of a "Taarna-like" build?

Wonder Woman

This is going to be Really Long ...

--- --- ---
Wonder Woman

Goals for this build:
* - Warrior Princess (While a sexy woman, but she is also a powerful fighter and a noble emissary.)
* - Hits like a truck with Muscles (Almost as strong as Superman (or Shazam), but she is a more skilled overall combatant.)
* - Possible Demi-Goddess (DCs Amazons are more than mortal humans.)

For this build:
* - We will you the 20 point (High Fantasy) array as defined on page 16 of the Core Rulebook. This had evolved into the point based used by most groups for Pathfinder Adventure Paths. This is also the base that Neil Spicer used for his AP pre-gens.
* - We will take the average roll of 5d6x10 for her starting equipment.
* - The armor used by Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman is hard to peg. I am calling it “Leather Laminar” (Ultimate Equipment p 12).
* - Golarion has no good equivalent of Themyscira. Anuli (Distant Sores p 14) of the matriarchal nation of Holomog is the best choice. This means that “appearance wise” this Wonder Woman will be closer to Nubia
* - The best Golarion equivalent for Wonder Woman’s patron of Athena would be Iomedae as both goddesses represent aspects of both Wisdom and War.
* - The build is done for first level, then I will outline the choices as she levels up.

Level 5Add Deflect Arrows feat (as written it works against bullets) and raise Diplomacy, Ride, & Sense Motive. She should choose her Lasso for Divine Bond, but it may be more prudent to select her longsword.
Level 6Raise Diplomacy, Ride, & Sense Motive. Any of the Mercies available are appropriate.
Level 7Add Weapon Focus (choose) feat and raise Heal, Intimidate, & Perception. Zone of Truth is the spell for 2nd level, but Bull’s Strength, Eagle’s Splendor, and Owl’s Wisdom are all very appropriate.

At this point you have all that is needed for the build. She should proceed organically from this point.

I was trying not to house rule, because then I could have used the 30 point build they did for Red Sonja in Worldscapes. (Which would have made Wonder Woman considerably easier.)

It is not a house rule for the GM to create items.

Lasso of Truth....Bracers of Deflection....and One invisible ship....

Also any thoughts on giving Mythic levels to represent the whole Demi-goddess aspect?

I was not presuming that I was the GM (otherwise, our group house rules that each class has more skill points - we also use a 25 point build.

That would be very appropriate ... If ...

... If Mythic wasn't the stupidest idea the Paizo has ever had.

@Lord Fyre: I dont consider designing new items to be a houserule... but I can see why some would.

Re: Mythic Rules: I don't think the rules were that bad. I love the concept. The execution fails in places though. One of my fixes was to limit the number of Mythic Point one can spend in a round...or on a given action. Which should fix the novaing issues I heard about. Though I never have seen it in play so...I don't if that works.
