I am a commander, but today I am commanding Team BadGuy, so I expect the NCO to have his area squared away and if he hasn't been hand fed a bunch of SOP's to make sure he gets all his s%%t in one sock and have developed them for when things go bad and I am not about to spoon feed him/her :P
Bloody NCO's!
The hackneyed old joke - is accurate...
A man is flying in a hot air balloon and realizes he is lost. He reduces height and spots a man down below. He lowers the balloon further and shouts: "Excuse me, can you tell me where I am?"
The man below says: "Yes, you're in a hot air balloon, hovering 30 feet above this field."
"You must be an NCO," says the balloonist.
"I am" replies the man. "How did you know?"
"Well," says the balloonist, "Everything you have told me is technically correct, but it's no use to anyone."
The man below says "You must be an Officer".
"I am" replies the balloonist, "But how did you know?"
"Well," says the NCO, "You don't know where you are, or where you're going, but you expect me to be able to help. You're in the same position you were before we met, but now it's my fault."

nice. So while we're swapping military jokes...
Have you ever had a seagull supervisor? He (or she =) swoops in, makes a lot of noise, eats all of your donuts, craps on everything, then flies away.

Alpha seems to have a knack for misplacing halflings... = /
Say, we never rolled Kaneko's channel. I don't suppose I can roll that, can I?
Channel Energy?: 1d6 ⇒ 6

Kish could drink the invisibility potion and maybe slip inside unnoticed and get the lay of the land? Or would we prefer to charge in all together?

Apologies on the delay. The long and the short of it is that I've been estranged from my wife for a few months while she took 3 months away. She returned today so the weekend was spent in painting, cleaning etc in prep for her home coming.
She's suitably happy (though I am bone tired from the long hours and hard work) and it seems the marriage is at least again pointed in a positive direction.
Normal game play should resume tomorrow.

So I successfully ran "In Service to Lore" at con this past weekend and I'm planning to purchase some PFS scenario PDF's before the big October sale is over...
Shifty, any chance you'd take me up on an offer to play in a PFS PbP that I will GM? If so, what would you like to play? The only thing I have now that I've played in already is The Midnight Mauler.
By the way, had another discussion about what can be re-played for credit with 1st level characters... The Venture Lieutenant in this area said we can re-play ANY scenario at Tier 1 with a new level 1 character for credit. Has this point been clarified recently? I'm getting a different answer from every person I ask... O_o

The V.L. is correct. Where you confusion lies is that you are mistaking Tier 1-5 scenarios for Tier 1 scenarios or Tier 1-2 modules. You cannot replay Tier 1-5 scenarios. (The one caveat being that you are now allowed a number of replays equal to your GM stars.) You can replay Tier 1 scenarios (First Steps 1 currently being the only such scenario) or Tier 1-2 modules (such as We Be Goblins, Master of the Fallen Fortress, ect..) Tier 1-2 modules can replayed endlessly with different level one PCs and ONCE with a level 2 PC.

Sure, I'd be keen for it.
As your first PBP venture you might try something straight forward like I did (I ran first steps to see how it all worked) but up to you if you feel more adventurous. Regardless, I'd probably stick to the low tiers as there is less to worry about mechanically, and then as you get comfortable GM'ing the PBP medium you can start to notch it up.
If you decide to crack on I can give you a list of scenario's I haven't played. :)

The good news is it isn't my first PbP. Been GMing one since May. (I've even nearly lured Grim into Ravenloft's clutches... Muahaha!) I write better than I improvise, so it works well for me. It will be my first PFS PbP, though.
I'm excited to get started so list away! ^_^

I gotta make my purchase soon, this is what is hanging out in my cart currently:
Pathfinder Society Scenario #2-20: Wrath of the Accursed (PFRPG) PDF
Pathfinder Society Scenario #3-01: The Frostfur Captives (PFRPG) PDF
Pathfinder Society Scenario #3-07: Echoes of the Overwatched (PFRPG) PDF
Pathfinder Society Scenario #3-15: The Haunting of Hinojai (PFRPG) PDF
Pathfinder Society Scenario #5: Mists of Mwangi (OGL/PFRPG) PDF
Pathfinder Society Scenario #29: The Devil We Know—Part I: Shipyard Rats (PFRPG) PDF
Pathfinder Society Scenario #35: Voice in the Void (PFRPG) PDF
Pathfinder Society Scenario #47: The Darkest Vengeance (PFRPG) PDF
I've been told I "do creepy well" so I'm hoping to start with Mists of Mwangi and segue into Voice in the Void. Alternately, The Frostfur Captives looks humorous if creepy is not your thing. ^_^

I've GM'd Mwangi and Voice, both were crackingly good fun.
I haven't GM'd or played Darkest vengeance not Devil we know...
The Devil we Know series has 4 parts, so it would keep us busy awhile and get the PCs to lvl 2. But it also doesn't bother me to have you play in something you've GM'ed, so we could stick with Mwangi if you'd like.
Anyway, I think it's time to buy unless someone has a request. I'm gonna go OD on PDF's now... ^_^

Shifty |

Yeah I have been running that for my PFS group.
Mwangi
Void
Accords
Echoes
which leads into...
Storming the Diamond Gate
Blackros Matrimony
Disappeared
Fortress of the Nail
Vets Vault
Day of the Demon
(and so the story goes, a new scenario in S5)
So far they are having an absolute blast.

Thanks! I was sort of circling the museum, they are very on theme for me. Might have something to do with reading King and Koontz almost exclusively from ages 11-16, but the macabre comes more naturally. Those I will develop for my in-person GMing too, Muahaha!
Well, if we can get more 2nd level characters in, we might start with Darkest Vengeance. I need to play catch-up on school for the next week and then I will want to get started. Who all wants in?

I'll take a breather for a bit - I'll wrap this one up with you guys (and thanks for taking me in) but after this I need to put some focus on the family.

All GMs should get a cert. Then everyone should have a 10% chance of a different boon (a non-racial boon). Going to Dragon*Con and running a LOT of sessions, I got a good chunk of boons there, so I have a lot of the seasonal random boons, but the race boons are changing each season (And the belief is that it is going to be the four elemental races, since the first one was Ifrit and said "Fall" on it)

![]() |

Gotcha.
Well I suspect that these sessions should wind up before long, both CoS groups are fighting through the prison at the moment, and even my piratical sabbatical is soon tipping into the guts of things so I will be reporting away before long. Will let you know what I get (if anything!) :p
Seeing that the VTT Gameday GM's have received their boons, my guess would be that GM's for the PbP Gameday won't receive theirs until Jan., when it's all finished. By then, I assume we would be onto the winter boons.
