It is my honor to announce that over the weekend, Nathan King got his 4th star. This is a huge milestone for the man who started playing PFS in APRIL (That's right, he did it in 9 months). Nathan is a great GM and player and I am humbled by the fact that he has put so much effort into building our community here in Saint Louis. His dedication and fortitude is unmatched. It is a pleasure to know you good sir.

Thanks Brian, I greatly appreciate the words of praise. I'm glad I am able to be a part of such a great community here in St. Louis! The people here are fantastic and are always willing to help each other out when it comes to finding a table to play at. We make sure that everyone gets to play, no matter what. I have learned a lot about Pathfinder and look forward to learn even more. I plan on going towards my 5th star for St. Louis and look forward to another great 100 games here!

Yeah I was all patting myself on my back as I'm on schedule to get my second stat in my 9 month of PFS play......you make me feel like a slacker!
Congrats man!|

So, Nathan, what advice do you have for the rest of us?
Thanks all! I'm glad to be a part of such a great community. I love what Mike and Paizo do for Pathfinder. Though I'm not 5 star yet, I can say while GM'ing I've learned a couple really things that I strive for at every table I run.
Roll with the punches
-I'ved noticed while GM'ing that players in Pathfinder want their character to be in the spotlight. The want to be the hero that saved the day. They want to be reminded after the scenario is over as "their cleric John Doe saved the day" or "their fighter Billy Joe who whirlwind attacked everyone and crit them all"...so when a player at a table comes out with something creative, exciting, and kinda off the wall, play it out. Explain what the BBEG is going to do, or how he is reacting. Reward their creativity with narrative and epicness
Be Knowledgeable
-A good part of GM'ing is knowing a little bit of everything. Lore, rules, classes, and how to portray the scenario to the players. As I GM, I strive to learn something new every game. Whether it's a small thing or a big rule that I was missing, I want to make sure i'm doing everything I can do to do better each and every game. At the same time, I've never afraid to ask someone about their character if it sounds fishy. If they are doing something that is right, but really just sounds fishy, hey it's their character, Paizo made all of the rules and guidelines to have fun and you'll never hear me say that they can't do that because it's too much fun ;)
Have Fun!
-This is a MUST at anytime I run. I want to make sure that the players and I have fun. This is a hobby for most of us, some a job *coughPaizocough* and I personally don't want to work 8 hours, then sit down at a PFS table for another 4 and be bored and be a dice rolling machine. I try to give my characters voices and personalities that they can remember. Sometimes, they don't fit, but that's the beauty of it all it's a game. Games are made to have fun. What's going to be more memorable, Drendle Dreng waking you up in the morning sounding like a robot, "WE. FINALLY. FOUND. THEM. PATHFINDERS. WE. FINALLY. DID. IT. BEEP. BEEP. BOOP." with no inflection in my voice or making him sound very fragile and shaky, "Pppppathhfinders....we...we...we have finally don...do...done it!"...Also, I'm TERRIBLE at art, and my sihedrons are just...well, let me show you. (This is a particular area in a particular scenario that may or may not be underground in Season 4.) Terrible sihedron is terrible
I hope this advice is hopeful to some who are interested in getting the first 100 under their belt. If you like GM'ing, you'll REALLY have a blast. You'll meet some great people, great to some great little cities and overall, have a blast! I'm extremely looking forward to the rest of Season 4 and the start of Season 5 and I look forward to getting the opportunity to GM for all of you. Mark, 50 to go until you get to sit in at one of my tables. ;)

Congrats, Nathan!
You've been an amazing force in the St. Louis (and surrounding) communities, and I'm always glad that you decided to join us!
I'm going to assume you'll be on track to have five stars in another four to five months, then? ;)
Thanks Brett! I'm happy to help out! All the tools and scenario booklets are just to make Pathfinder a little smoother for everyone here in St. Louis. With so many players (not a bad thing by any means), just had to find a way to be able to keep organized.
Now if only some certain paperwork could in up in some certain people's hands...hmm..(Love giving you crap about that ;) )
Haha, Hopefully by say May-ish, I should be just needing the final game with a VC, or a Paizo Employee to get my 5th star!

I think I was there for the particular sihedron, and I will attest that the magnificently run game more than made up for the art. Anytime I see Nathan is going to be running a game, I know I can expect a fun time. Congratulations on your fourth star, you've definitely earned it!

I know I was there for that game, and Sesharan has it right — the table had a great time courtesy of a fine GM and wasn't put off in any way by your artwork. :-)

One of my biggest regrets from Winter War last month was not sitting as a player at Nathan's 100th game. Some of the most fun I have with PFS is observing the chops of a highly-skilled GM. Oh and stealing some of their mojo for my own GMing bag-o-tricks. Great job Nathan and I look forward to playing at your table in some future where our paths cross again.

Congratulations Nathan,
Perhaps we'll get a chance to meet at CCC in April, Unless you make the trek up here in March for Gamicon
Thanks! I hope to make it to Cape Comic Con in April. As for the Gamicon trek, I'm not for sure about that one just yet. We'll have to see if work lets me. ;)

Not a problem Bob. If you are going to Archon or Diecon this year, you will probably see me there. We would have loved to have ya at the table, however, I know you were pretty swamped with running your own tables. Definitely next time for sure!

Nathan, if you make it down for Egypt Wars, you might be able to convince Bob to take a break from GMing to play then. :)
