I have an exam in like an hour, and I'll be done by 9pm(Greece Time), I'll be back home at around 9'30pm, and 'till I'm done eating It will most likely be around 10pm. That leaves 2 hours before entries are revealed, now... Maybe If there was a new episode of Gintama or Bakuman today I could handle the wait. Maybe I'll just finish a few projects for my university in these two hours, and check on the boards from time to time.
Hey Garrick!, I'm studying Hardware & Software Engineering at my university. Though, I'm really bad at electronic circuits and whatnot, It seems I have a natural gift for programming, as I've gotten 100% on any programming or programming related subject my university has to offer. I'll be making a game as my Thesis, but I don't know where to go from there!, Maybe we should talk someday, as we share pretty similar goals, I also strive to become a game developer or designer for both tabletop and video-game!
Good luck everyone!, whatever happens, we should all have a blast! and maybe after this is done, we should go to the nearest tavern, gather some dice, and force the Judges to Game Master us a session for 36 people, beer and meat included of course. In such an event, I'm calling dibs - I'm the bard.

I'm supervising an emissions test at work, and it should get done just before the entries are revealed. Of course, as you can tell by this post, "supervising" leaves plenty of time to use the internet while I wait, so I'm not spared from this obsessive following of the forums. #FirstWorldProblems

Better yet, we should all do a massive Kingmaker AP, and play our own archetypes! Sadly, out of 36 players, we'd still have no cleric, or full arcane caster!
Erm...there are full arcane casters. And I am totally down for the 'play your archetype' game. Best idea I've heard in a while!
Note: I will play in this game. I can't run a pbp right now.

Oh, my bad. I forgot about the witch. Still, I hope someone (maybe even me!) made a healing archetype. One good fireball on a party of 36 could burn through an entire wand of CLW.
I am really jonesing to see these submissions come up. I am definitely one of the people guilty of waiting until the last minute to submit mine, and I know that's probably going to cost me.
I was very impressed with all the other items that were selected, so I'm a little intimidated.
If that three day turnaround had happened any time other than last week I could have put so much more work into it. Sadly the life of an actor/youth care worker/sports enthusiast/wannabe RPG designer doesn't let you decide when spare time will poke its head out of the sand.
After looking at the other wondrous items, I have the feeling like I accidentally bumbled into a room full of geniuses. I have a feeling the competition is going to be pretty tough when the archetypes are revealed, and I salute all of my fellow competitors for all your efforts. I look forward to the finished products.
Good luck everyone.
Just over 2 hours before reveal of judge comments... Good luck everyone =)

That said, I really liked 2011's Round 3, which was creating a villain using the archetypes. I'm sorry we won't get a chance to see that again this year.

I was bummed I didn't get through to round 4 in 2011 even though my villain did three times! Lol, good old Hoarfrost.

I always wanted to play Kingmaker. I always wanted to play a real game with the class of my archetype. That sounds like fun.

A lot more to software development than programming, but I'd like to talk sometime. Consider making a commericial indie game and selling it on a distribution platform.

That's how I got my job, though it did make me realize that I didn't like programming.
Almost reveal time. Good luck everyone! I'm excited to see what everyone else came up with (doubly excited since I've been running Kingmaker for the past year and a half now).
::twiddles thumbs::
...so, anybody want to play 21 questions?

Why not just Questions?
I'll play! :D
... Archetypes? What archetypes? No voting going on here. No sir!
Just me and my guildies asking each other questions and stuff.
Chris, would you like to try that again?
(Ahem!)
Do I not seem like the sort of person that would try again?
Are you consistent enough that making a second attempt at one contest should indicate you would do likewise in another?
Contests aren't all the same?
Isn't that why my golf handicap never gets me bonus points in my chess matches?
You've never played golf-chess?

Hey, what are you guys doing messing around in here, when you could be out there voting for/heaping praise on my archetype?
Wow, gents, quite the wave of creativity in round 2. I've only looked over a dozen or so of the archetypes, but so far I've been really impressed by three of them and most of the others have some good stuff. I only regret being unable to go head-to-head with such worthy competitors. I salute you all.
That said, I'm off to do some housework.
You're trying to get us in trouble, aren't you Joseph?
I know I can't be the only one clicking the round 3 link! I really need something else to think about for the next few days!
What else could you possibly be thinking about? O:)
Well, I just finished reading all the submissions, and I just want to say congratulations to everybody! Every single archetype had something really cool going for it, and you should all be proud. Good luck!
Are you feeling lucky? :)

Joseph Kellogg wrote: Hey, what are you guys doing messing around in here, when you could be out there voting for/heaping praise on my archetype? Nonsequitur. Point.
Would you like to try again?
Well, I've read about a third, and I gotta say I'm impressed. Some good stuff out there. I'll finish up tomorrow and vote. Not talking is harder than I thought it would be.
Matthew Duval wrote: Are you feeling lucky? :)
Not at all. I would prefer to work on the next round rather than dwell on something I have no control over.
Read them all and voted. Aside from the general observations that every archetype had some really cool feature, and more than a few of them were really, really awesome, I'll be following suit on "radio silence" for the rest of the round.
I think it's really cool that we've sort of sensed we should do that. It's like the Paizo staff's implicit thing about not getting entangled in political threads in OTD. That's a mark of professionalism.

I'll also be signing off for the nonce, and I'm sorry to the folks whose items I haven't said a word or two about yet. But I did want to say that I'm really impressed with the ideas, flavor, and well-constructed mechanics here in the archetypes round. It's an honor to find myself here in the deep end of the talent pool. Congratulations, all!
Wow! Nice work!, I'm currently looking at all 32 Archetypes!.
Garrick and Adam, Thanks a lot for the advice!. Once, RPGSS is over, I'll pm you guys ^^.
Good luck everyone!
Well, did anyone else have dreams about reading comments on your archetype?

I have to admit I have been thinking about the archetype..... and the monster..... and the encounter..... and the adventure proposal..... and the swarm slurper. In fact, since January 22nd, I CAN'T stop thinking about RPG design.
Before the contest began, it was certainly more casual. I would muse about this idea or that idea, not really writing anything down, just thinking. Now, my mind is racing and I have trouble sleeping.
Here is an example of something that happened earlier this week.
For some reason, I was thinking about why spider climb would work on ice when the slippers of spider climbing would not. This made me wonder why web works on ice. I then thought about how cool it would be to have a version of sticky ice webs that do cold damage when you are entangled. What would make such a web? Yeah, an ice spider with a poisonous bite that freezes your blood causing cold and CON damage. The ice spider would almost certainly be clear or white. There could be also be a harpoon ice spider that shoots icicles at you and then pulls you close. Of course, there would have to be a crazy vermin arctic druid controlling them.
I wonder if this is what it is like everyday when you do this for a living?
Actually, Jon. It's so much likethat that as a general rule, we should avoid design musings during the contest. You night give someone a decent idea or stumble on an authentic one, which now makes it look like you or someone else riffed off a random post. Careful giving away what you might be able to sell!
Now: on to the important stuff. Who's running the archerype game, how many of us are in, and what level do we start at? I'll bring pizza and Dew!

It might also be construed as "adding to your submission." Granted you are talking about monsters BEFORE the monster round, but some might consider that you are posting such things too show off more design chops, and possibly garner more votes. Best just not to do it.
