As we near the end of the open voting portion of the magic items, a lot of us are going to have some free time on our hands. What are you planning to do with your reclaimed life?
I've really grown to like many of you, I hope someone will invite me to their PBP or something.

Me? I'm going to begin working on my archetype for the contest in hopes that I will need it. I have a concept but little more. I may even start reading again. :-)
RPG SS has relit my passion for designing and developing, so probably something along those lines.
Oh yeah, and get back to work.
Finalize an archetype and try to get five other small assignments on my plate done before the Top 32 are announced.

I like the archetype I've built up, but I haven't built a new monster since 3.5. Time to start reading up on the rules.
I'm interested enough in this process now that no matter what happens with my item, I'm going to try and write something up for each round. Even if I'm the only one who ever sees them, it feels like good practice.

Mamaursula, I've got a Mythic Curse of the Crimson Throne PbP going on and one of our players seems to have quit. You'd be welcome to join if you are interested.
I actually haven't been voting a whole lot because of work, so I don't expect to see much of a change for myself... but, once the top 32 are announced, I expect there will be plenty of discussion about the new archetypes, as well as the Critique My Item threads for the ones that didn't make it.
I stopped voting last... Wednesday I believe? When I hit Marathon. That was really all I wanted >_>
Went back to working on my campaigns and my stories on my breaks and at home rather than voting =)
What's free time. Kids, work, campaigns . . . Who's giving me free time? And why? I would love free time. *daydreams of having free time*
Anyways I'll probably focus my attentions towards the next round so I'm prepared.

I've been watching Battlestar Galactica (and doing all kinds of things I would do anyway).
And I've been toying with the idea that I might design a rules-lite resource management / intrigue game about BSG for the messageboards. Fuel/water/food shortages, saboteurs, riots, cylon agents, and so on.

I've been watching Battlestar Galactica (and doing all kinds of things I would do anyway).
And I've been toying with the idea that I might design a rules-lite resource management / intrigue game about BSG for the messageboards. Fuel/water/food shortages, saboteurs, riots, cylon agents, and so on.
That sounds pretty cool.

If you haven't played the BSG board game...check it out. It is awesome, with resource management, space battles, and cylon traitors.

Well, I've got my Archetype pretty much ready to go, but absolutely no concept fora monster yet. Hmmm,animal, vegetable, or mineral?

Assuming I'm not one of the people running around like a chicken with my head cut off after the Top 32 get announced, I've got some personal writing and art projects to work on...at least one other contest I want to enter. I've been down with the flu, so I've got a bunch of work to catch up on...and I'm trying to get some stuff together to try to run a PBP game here eventually.
So, in other words, I'm sure I will find a way to occupy my time while I watch the rest of the contest unfold. :P

Actually, now that I've spent the last couple weeks voting and knitting, I'm in the home stretch of a project that I plan to finish tonight, so I'm going to go use both my hands and make some knitty magic. I probably won't be haunting the boards as much until the Top 32 are voted.
I'm going to go back and do a second draft of my NANOWRIMO novel. That is if I'm not scrambling to put the finishing touches on my archetype and brainstorming monsters next week.
I'm working on the map for the encounter round. I think my archetype is pretty tight. I don't know the twist for the monster yet, so I don't know if it should be CR 2, 12, or 20. :-P
But working on maps is fun and exciting. Last year, it was 24 by 30 squares, so I'm working on that. (I'm used to 26 by 26 maps....)
Prep I have done, which is probably way too much at this point...
Archetype is one last edit from send button.
Monster - base idea and list of abilities to pick from sketched out - now waiting for the twist / CR level, etc. before going further - will probably do some knock off practice throw away monsters this weekend just to nail my formatting to match the bestiaries. Once that's down, it's then just a matter of balancing and choosing when the round rules are revealed.
I have a very very rough sketch of an encounter map praying that the encounter twist doesn't invalidate it.
And, yeah, I am this sad, I have sketched out a baseline set of ideas for the final round proposal submission.
Which is something I have never done in any prior years, I used to have a half done round 2 prepared but never prepared any further. Maybe I am just too eager this year >.<
Read Dragonlance, Study, Watch some anime (berserk movie and Hellsing OVA 10 come to mind), and enjoy the little things of life?, Maybe work on an archetype too, though i don't think I'll be in top32 xD.
I'm going to go over the 2011 and 2012 proposals.
