I've been trying out PCgen for a couple of days. Maybe it's just me, but it doesn't seem to be quite as easy to use as everyone says. But I've started makeing significant progress on building the characters I want. But I do have a few things I couldn't figure out how to do.
So I thought I would ask you folks that have been using it for a while now.
1) How do I add the 'misfortune' revelation? I've got a dual-cursed oracle. It has the extra revelation it should have at 5th level. But misfortune is not one of the choices.
2) How do I give a high caster level scroll? Character has a Scroll: Remove Disease at 12th caster level. I couldn't figure out how to do that.
3) How do I give an extra non-standard feat? GM gave my character the Education feat. I think he said it was from Eberron. It makes all knowledge skills into class skills and gives a +1 to 2 of them. I chose religion and planes.

What version of PCGen are you running?
What sets do you have loaded?Can you walk me through which Oracle options you have taken?
I created an Oracle and had no problem picking up the Misfortune revelation.

You will need to customize a blank scroll by selecting it and then hitting the 'Add Custom' button. You will then need to add the spell type (Arcane/Divine), add Minor/Medium/Major spell, add Spell Effect, and then identify the Class, Spell Level, Spell Name, Caster Level, and Metamagic feat if desired. Once all this os done you can 'Buy' the scroll.
3) How do I give an extra non-standard feat? GM gave my character the Education feat. I think he said it was from Eberron. It makes all knowledge skills into class skills and gives a +1 to 2 of them. I chose religion and planes.
When looking at the Feat subtab on the Feats and Abilities tab, double click on the Feat Remaining field in the lower left hand pane. Edit it to add the nuber of additional feats and hit return. You will now have an additional feat.

I loaded 5164_piazo_pathfinder_alpha_update_07 because I read somewhere that you had to load that to have the Advnaced Players Guide stuff.7th level Oracle
Picked dual cursed in the Archtype tab.

Ok, I see what at least part, if not all, of the problem is. You will need to reinstall PCGen 6.00.0 and DO NOT install the 5164 update. That set is not required and will in fact take you backwards in the maturity level of the APG data set. In fact. The APG has seem massive amounts of update since the 5164 update came out.
What sets did you have loaded for your character? Without knowing all of the choices you've made for your character its hard to say which set you'll need, but you will need as a minimum the Core Rules, the APG, and Ultimate Magic loaded. To get Ultimate Magic you will need to make sure you load from he Advanced Source Loading tab.
If it would help, you can send your pcg file to me at maredudd AT blackroot DOT org, and I'll take a more detailed look at it.

Ok, I reinstalled. I had gotten that set because I read somewhere that was why I couldn't get the APG to load.
I am on the Advanced Source Loading tab. What I am currently loading is:
DSP - Psionics Unleashed
CC Players Guide
Bestiary
Bonus Bestiary
Traits Web Enhancement
CRB
UC
UM
PCGen Re-namer
It won't let me load the APG, Bestiary 2, or Advanced Complete Core. It says:
"Prereqs for this campaign have not fulfilled"
You need to not load the Traits Web Enhancement to load the APG, if I recall correctly.
I think the Bestiary 2 is set up to require the APG.
I think "Advanced Complete Core" will give you the CRB and APG without needing to select them separately. I'm not as sure about this one.
I took the Trait Web Enhancement off the list.
It still has those 3 in red and still says "Prereqs for this..." if I try to add them to the list.
It should list in red in the lower right panel when you click on the source in red. And just as a stab in the dark I don't see you listing the Pathfinder Core book up there in your listed sources.
Start up PCGen 6.00.0 fresh.
On the Advanced Tab for loading, do NOT load, but Add:
1st - "Paizo - Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Core Rulebook"
2nd - "Paizo - Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Advanced Player's Guide"
At this point everything except:
Web traits, UM - Words of Power, RPG for Game Masters, and RPG for Players - Advanced
should turn from red to black.
Then Add all the others and then click on the Load button on the bottom.

Ok, sorry haven't been back for a while. PC died and it took me a while to get a new (used) one.
Got it working after several false starts. Seems I have to use the default install and character storage directories or things don't work right.
Still a couple of issues.
1) On the printed sheets, much of the text is so small it is difficult for an old bat like me to read. Does one of those multitude of templates print larger? If so, I haven't found it yet.
2) Can't seem to get it to allow me to add extra feats or skill points. I tried clicking where I understood the above text to say, but it won't let me change the number.
3) Is there any way for me to 'easily' make a custom feat. GM gave me the education feat from the Eberron book. All knowledge skills are class skills and a +1 to 2 of them.
4) Anyone working on the PFS field Guide? The Lore Warden is one of my favorite classes and it isn't in there that I can find.

1) Don't do printing, so someone else will have to help you with this, but I do understand. I created my own html sheet that uses larger type and the information that I want available.

(note: they will only be there for a couple of days, as I keep my dropbox folder clean)
3) Define easily (sorry, couldn't resist!). Yes, it can be done You will need to create an ability pool, and an ability. Look at the Fighter Bonus Feat definitions in:

@\data\d20ogl\paizo\pathfinder_rpg\core_rulebook\pfcr_abilities_class.lst
for suggestions. If you need further help, either ask here, or at List File Help Yahoo group. Also, the documentation is pretty good (PF1).
4) No one is working on it. There is a JIRA opened for it LINK, however there is no active monkey working on it.

Another issue?
It seems to be giving me too many spells known for my sorcerers and oracles.
For example a 3rd level sorcerer by the CRB knows 3 1st level spells. Plus the 1 he gets from the bloodline. So I should have a total of 4 spells known.
PCGen says I have 5 spells known.
Am I missing something?

Known bug in 6.00.0, and fixed in 6.01.00. The easiest thing for you to do is to download the nightly auto build at AUTOBUILD and use that.
