The door opens to a cavern, the floor seems strangely polisted and smooth, to the east, a thick curtain of vines and nettles hangs down over a wide opening overlooking the Varisian Gulf.
This cavern has been the hunting grounds of a monster that looks something like a leathery, eyeless squid with a squat body the size of a rain barrel. Its lower body splits into a tangle of tentacles the creature uses to slowly move, while two longer tentacles, one thick and muscular and the other lithe and tipped with a bone stinger, emerge from either side.

Speed is a fighter's boon, but when facing giants and their long arms withdraw slowly before knocking an arrow!
The wise words of the Lyrune-Quah weapons master comes back to Kelvor. As part of his training among the Many Clans of the Shoanti he learned a thousand tactics, each perfect for its own situation. Seeing the monster's tentacles grab Farouq and pull him in, Kelvor decides to five-foot step away from the monster.
Kelvor's plan is to step outside the monster's reach next round (with a five foot) and throw his alchemist's fire.
