... Did I ninja someone again!?...

And Shisio is one of those Sexy & Awesome, yet Frightening, Characters...

Hey RD, can you elaborate more on Zwei? First off he needs to be proficient with all martial weapons to even take a level in EK and as for his special abilities, I get the feeling he did not get a PFRPG transfer because it all looks pretty 3.5 still.

Also I really like how you remade Shisio, still have his original 3.5 Sorceror, Pally, EK build somewhere on the computer.

Zwei's racial HD make him proficient in all martial weapons.

What exactly makes him look 3.5?

And yes, I still have Shisio's v3.5 incarnation on file. He was absolutely BA--consistently putting the rest of the epic-level party, and everyone they ever encountered, to complete shame.

Well I actually got a bit lazy and did not actually search for Janni in the Beastiary which if I would have done would have answered my concerns with Change Size and Elemental Endurance and how he had them. I like the character but no GM I play under would ever give me reigns as a Janni...now Suli is more plausible in my home territory of playable.

And yes I loved the 3.5 version to death, it just saddens me that there is no bunny familiar with the magus haha. Also I wonder how well this magus version can stand up to the original

Ah, I too miss the bunny familiar.

Dark Archive

Haha when I found his build oh so many years ago I wanted to steal and play him but that time never came haha...but one day it will happen

I wonder how hard it would be to convert the Bunny over...

=O that capitalization on the Bunny gives it much power...like Monty Python power

Hmm...

All I can think of is using this with the Advanced Template multiple times and an Alignment Template.

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber; Pathfinder Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

I never did support the idea of stacking identical templates.

Meh, I only use it for certain monsters and only when the story requires it.

Like a Giant(x2) Advanced(x2) Awakened Dire Wolf that was an Avatar of Fenrir.

Or my Giant(x2) Riding Dog who was the Guard Dog of a Giant.

Just realized...

Garath is using Kukri a Light weapon Double Slice can't be used with it.

At least from my understanding it doesn't.

Absolutely wrong.

Read the feat.

The feat only allow you to use full strength with your off-hand it doesn't allow you to use it with a Light Weapon. If he was using a Longsword he could apply full strength with his off hand but not a kukri.

So unless he has a class feature or a feat that allows for full strength on damage with light weapons it doesn't work.

Where is this caveat? There is no weird Light weapon strength restriction.

I see that now...

I guess that is something my group missed when switching from 3.5's first printing. Interesting, my groups been cheating themselves out of STR bonus.

Is it a Change in PF from 3.5 or was it changed in one of 3.5's printings?

Grand Lodge

No such rule existed in 3.5 either.

Someone may have houseruled this in game you played.

Very weird houserule though.

In the first printing of 3.5 it has it under both the Strength explanation and the light Weapon explanation. NOTE: The true first printing of 3.5 says Second Printing while the true Second Printing says First Printing.

Grand Lodge

Well, you now know the truth.

It kind makes me mad that my previous tabletop use PC was a Rogue who TWF with Shortswords and had pretty good STR...

Though I am happy it was changed just wished I knew about it for the past 3 years.

Grand Lodge

I often forget the various bonuses that add to CMD, like deflection.

There are so many little, tiny changes in the game.

Grand Lodge

Yes. The hardest part for 3.5 players is not learning Pathfinder, but unlearning 3.5.

Is it bad that I want to make a Wizard/Sorcerer with a Giant Cockroach Familiar.

So far that is the only thing we missed in the transfer.

Grand Lodge

You can have vermin familiars.

Also, Flying Squirrels and Dwarf Caimans.

But under the Familiar rules Giant Cockroach isn't listed.

Polymorph Any Object, Reincarnate, and DM fiat are all options.

True... what bonus would fit a Giant Cockroach? +3 HP like a toad or +1 Natural Armour?

Grand Lodge

Survival bonus sits better with me.

or maybe a fort save bonus?!?!?! /shrug

Meh, Cockroaches are more tough than they are Survivalist.

Fort Save could work...

DR?

I have to thank you, Ravingdork, for sharing these. By using a combination of Araonna Chorster and Helegûr, I've hit upon a long term defense method for my Kingdom in the Kingmaker campaign we're playing.

That idea being an intelligent, flying Instant Fortress dedicated to protecting the kingdom. To that end, it can use Summon Monster IV to summon 1d3 Lantern Archons at will. Inside the tower, is a Gate to a personal Demiplane (using Lesser Demiplane for the base, a scroll of Create Demiplane for the Structure, a scroll of Greater Demiplane for the gate) that holds an army of Simulacrums of my wizard. If there is ever any major threat, a Simulacrum stationed inside the tower will enter the Demiplane and call the Simulacrums out (who will each be 7th level). An army of Simulacrums able to Dimension Door and activate wands of Fireball and Lightning Bolts should handle just about any threat to the kingdom. Best part is, using Blood Money, each Simulacrum will be free.

I just need time to make it all.

[Edit] By the way, it occurred to me as I was writing out the pricing and stats for the scenario above, that one could Magically Treat the walls of the Instant Fortress to make them tougher and harder. It's a 20 ft. square tower that is 30 ft. high. By my count, that's 24 10x10 squares; at 1,500 gp each, you could Magically Treat the walls for 36,000 gp. This gives the tower Hardness 40 and 200 HP. Neigh impregnable, in other words.

Not really, Seems a bit to powerful for a Familiar. I would say Natural Armour or Fort Save would fit best.

BTW sorry for the slight threadjacking Ravingdork.

I don't really know what to say to Magically Treating the walls...

Dot, and thanks.

Nice Gygaxian anagram name on Lataf.

Could someone explain where Shisio is getting the constant layer of frost? Is it a purely thematic thing or did I miss something?

It looks like flavor. Possibly a flavor effect of his ring of greater energy resistance (fire).

How have I missed this thread before? I think I just found my favorite place to yoink NPCs!

You are quite welcome.

Thank you for sharing the rules on magically treated walls. I had not seen those in years and had forgotten they even existed. Will have to use those soon...

You will rue the day you decided to hijack one of my threads.

Mostly just fluff. I hadn't thought of it being an effect from the ring. That's a good idea too.

FILE UPDATES
- Shiso Dafoe, corrected some of his skill modifiers, switched a feat, adjusted gear to be more appropriate for his level, and added a bunny familiar.

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber; Pathfinder Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

Looking for fun gear to add to Helegur. I have about 17,790gp to spare (effectively doubled if used to create a wondrous item).

What does she need? What would be fitting?

Pages of Spell Knowledge.
A Clone (or 2).
Rings of Wizardry (Apparently they work with Sorcerers).

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber; Pathfinder Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

Clones only cost 1700gp via spellcasting services. She could get 10 if she wanted.

Wow... Does that include the Focus/Material Component.

Well, for some fun flavor/thematic uses, get an Eversmoking Bottle with a Goz Mask. Reflavor the bottle as mist from the cold. The Goz Mask allows you to see through all fog/smoke/mist with no penalty, and the Bottle will create a fog bank for Helegur to freely move through.

It covers expendable lab supplies, but not the lab itself, which you may or may not have to pay for (GM discretion I suppose). Even if you do, it's a one time cost.

Tels, I like you're thinking.

I agree on the Eversmoking Bottle & Goz Mask.

NEW CHARACTER!
The Cracked Man - 19th-level creationist, mad wizard on a quest for revenge

This one comes with a history. "They called me Mr. Glass." :P

You made him not look like Samuel L. Jackson?!?

I threw in the quote last minute. Just imagine what Mr. Glass would do if he had an adamantine golem too.

Are you the one?

*SPLAT*

Guess not. Next!
