The new projectors (around 500 bucks) are not the 'poor mans' solution, but WOW! 5 pounds and it hangs from the ceiling from a couple of plant hooks straight down. Blast the Paizo PDF map layer down and cover with a fog of war layer. Remove the fog with a wave of your mouse just far enough and presto, slow reveal, no time sinc, beautiful detail, rough terrain, everything. Dont forget, amazed players. Portability, lamp life, initial cost are BIG downsides but it beats waiting for the Microsoft Surface!
