I am going to play a cleric in Way of the Wicked campaign from Fire Mountain Games. The campaign starts at level 1 and goes to level 20.
I have not played a cleric since 3.0 D&D.
The campaign and the GM is pushing for a Lawful Evil Cleric of Asmodeus, which I am OK with it.
Asmodeus's domain are:
Domains Evil, Fire, Law, Magic, Trickery
Subdomains Arcane, Ash, Deception, Devil, Divine, Smoke
Asmodeus's Favored Weapon is a Mace (1d8 Crit: 20/x2).
So what type of cleric works best for Asmodeus and why?

Domain Trickery and Law, take Profession Barrister.
Just because it is neat :)

Going with the Trickery(Deception) and Fire domains could be good, especially if you have a Rogue or Ninja in the group. With your sudden shift ability from the Deception domain you can set your sneak attack buddy up for quick kills. I would definately take the Channel Smite and Guided Hand feats to utilize your wisdom for attack rolls and Channel negative energy so you can make some wicked Channel Smite attacks against living enemies. You are gonna want wisdom as high as you can get it, with enough dex to maximize your armor some Chainmail or a Breastplate. Your not gonna stand toe to toe for long but you can pack a punch and you become more effective with a sneak attack buddy.

I like the idea to put some skill into Profession Barrister
Our party has in to so far:
Inquisitor/Infiltrator (domain Trickery)
Antipaladin
Wizard/necomancy
We have two maybe of a Summoner and a Rogue.
I have been mostly playing with Evil, fire and Trickery domains.
Here the feats I was thinking about...
Selective Channel
Scribe Scroll
Eldritch Heritage(arcane) to get an Familiar
Improved Familiar to get an Imp which seem evil and I can deliver touch attacks like bestow Curse
Quicken Spell
Arlandor feats look like this
Channel Smite
Guided Hand
Which he looks like he is suggesting to go melee cleric. If that the case I think I should also grab Power Attack and Greater Channel Smite.
I wish there was a better mace then heavy mace.

A gnome cleric theologian with the fire domain can get quote broken around 5th level when you get access to fireball as a domain spell. This is because theologian (from Ultimate magic) pumps domain powers and spells while the alternative racial trait for gnomes called pyromaniac (in Advanced Player's Guide) pumps fire magic. This means that at 5th you can pump out fireball after fireball (because you don't have to use a domain slot for domain spells with theologian) at a higher level and with a free metemagic feat on the spell. It is a very easy combo for a GM to nerf however so it shouldn't be the only card you have to play.
It works even better for Ifrit (from bestiary 2) I just used gnome as an example cause I killed a player with this exact build.
