The word "githyanki" first appeared in a George RR Martin novel where a young Charles Stross read it and used it as the name of a D&D monster he was writing up and which eventually got published in the original Fiend Folio.

Wait does that mean Wizards has no copyright on Githyanki?

Not the word, I guess - but the whole concept of the race is still theirs. Also, I'm no lawyer, and what I do know of copyright laws, regulations, and custom is more Swedish based than US based.

This is debatable. However, the Vikings most certainly did.

Interesting observation from five minutes ago: Marlboro Black Menthols combined with Angry Orchard hard cider tastes exactly like balsamic vinaigrette salad dressing. I'm OK with this.

The Swedish king Gustav II Adolf died on 6 November 1632 at the Battle of Lützen.

News of the event arrived in Frankfurt am Main and Dresden 5 days later, in Amsterdam 12 days later, in Vienna 13 days later, Königsberg 17 days later, Paris 24 days layer, and Stockholm 32 days later, on 8 December.

Jennifer Lawrence's love of Doritos chips caused her to stain several dresses while on the set of American Hustle, nearly ruining them in the process. The wardrobe department solved this problem by creating a number of identical dresses for her to use throughout the production so she would always have a clean one to wear.

Jonathan Frakes' trademark beard was acquired during the filming of North and South, Book II (1986). It was patterned after a style popular during the American Civil War. He liked it so much, he continued to wear it after he returned to Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987) for its second season.

Season 2 of Star Trek: The Next Generation premiered in the fall of 1988. This interview would suggest that he stopped shaving during the 1988 WGA strike, and Gene Roddenberry told him to keep the beard when shooting resumed.

Pharrel Williams's smash hit "I'm Happy" was initially recorded as "I Am Suicidally Depressed" but it did not test well with focus groups.

"Mary Poppins" is an allegory about the English Civil War.

The plot of Rise of the Runelords is plagiarized almost verbatim from "Steel Magnolias".

The second of those is actually true.

Mary Poppins was originally called 'Morvel I. Rocwell', but that got cut in production for being too obvious an anagram of Oliver Cromwell.

Illegal Puritan tracts used to be distributed by itinerant birdseed sellers, for 'Tuppence a Bag', an event commemorated by the song 'Feed the Birds'

'Chim Chim Cheree' shows why the Revolution was necessary, since before the execution of Charles I, everybody used to speak like Dick Van Dyke.

Incidentally, should you watch the film with the sound off while listening to New Model Army's greatest hits, you will be very bored and develop a severe headache.

However, staying on topic. Sid James of the 'Carry On' films was apparently born Solomon Joel Cohen, in South Africa, in 1913. That *is* true, and I had absolutely no idea.

The similarities between Shirley MacLaine's character and Mammy Graul make this painfully obvious.

Lucozade makes a very excellent moustache stiffener.

What about Irn-Bru?

I cannot comment at this stage of the research.

Is this your own mustache you are stiffening with artificial substances, or are you running around stiffening unsuspecting mustaches with artificial substances?

The latter would be a pretty good PF encounter.
