Sounds interesting. Sadly I have not enjoyed any of IDW's takes on the Doctor so I probably will not follow though.
Do not listen to this woman, she's crazy.
Eh, I've picked up the first couple of these. The thing, which is actually a little unusual for me to be the main impetus, which grabbed me was the art. It's really gorgeous and not at all what I expected from IDW, by which I mean IDW has very positively exceeded my expectations.
The plot has been delivered a bit piecemeal, but the characters are written icly and it seems an interesting plot. There are some intimations that the universe Star Trek takes place in and the Whoniverse are definitely two different universes, and that the TARDIS has delivered the Doc and companions into it, where the Doctor starts "remembering" facts about that universe he didn't know before, which I think is a trope that works well given the material.
Apparently while the first couple issues are Eleven, Rory, Amy, and TNG crew, the next issue is going to be Four and TOS crew.

They pretty much would have to be. Also the Whoniverse is a lot less consistent, since after all the Doctor travels in time as well in space and Future Earth varies widely between what era you're talking about although it was 52nd Century that was the "Go To" for Earth future for quite a while, being the home time of both the Silent Crusade and our favorite renegade Time Agent as well as where River Song gets her degree, possibly the Shadow Proclamation as well?. I suspect the century was home to a fair amount of things that the 10th Doctor ran into as well such as Starship Titanic.
Also each producer tends to put his own spin on the verse so it has much less of a "bible" than Trek.

one must go slowly to draw in fans of the other parts of the crossover...remember the fan base for star trek isnt as strong in britan as it is here....likewise the same for doctor who here in the states...slowing down the story does give the readers time to learn about the characters of the other series. And to build the common personality traits of those characters, like The Doctor's interest in Cmdr. Data.
