... Who is going to GM?(looks around the room, and then taps his own head "not it")
I second that unless no one will. I have not GM'ed a lot but I am always willing to gain the experience. Note: I also do not have any of the resources right now to GM. :-( But I also wouldn't mind giving you guys more of an opportunity to play. All of our gm's work hard and deserve to play. ;-) Anyway good campin Jake and congrats on the star!

I am all for meeting on the 26th. I can visit with family when I'm dead.
I could prep something for the 26th. I'd need some rules guidance from time to time but otherwise I could manage it. Any suggestions on a scenario?
Zylph: you will appreciate this fun fact. Cure light wounds is on the Ranger spell list. Bekra is a rogue 4/ RANGER 1. But I guess the clw wand use magic device lottery was fun anyhow. I am going to do some research into all the things my character can do before I play him again!
Luth: Next homebrew game is this coming Sunday, right?

Hey guys! Sorry I've been absent from the forum here. GeekOut was amazing, and I'd like to see what the event did to our numbers come next gaming session, heh.
I'll be getting my actual schedule for work soon, and though I asked for Saturday nights and Sunday morning's off, I can't be sure it will end up that way, it being busiest on weekends and all. But, here's hoping.

Got a question. Read in the Society guide that a person could purchase the Pathfinder Tales books and get a chronicle sheet for each book with proof of owning it. This credit could be given to your characters. For the life of me I cannot find the link to download these chronicle sheets. Does this credit still exist? Thanks

Yup it's in Additional Resources, very bottom.

Don't forget the book/s when you go to an event. You have to have them with you to prove you have the right to the chronicle. Electronic copies are acceptable.

So, guys, I just got my schedule for work, and I'm fairly sure it's going to be semi-permanent. It has me working at "12 midnight" on Saturdays... which actually means being clocked in before 11:45.
What this means for me, seeing as it's at the Casino in Cherokee, is that I would have to leave the games pretty much AT 10, with not a lot of wiggle room.
So, I was wondering, could we get the meeting time to be a little bit earlier for people getting their characters set up, and actually get started at 5 or 5:30, as opposed to he 6 or so that we usually get going? It may seem selfish to say so, but I can think of a few other people this might help out as well.

So far the only GM this next session is Z, so when he gets there and is ready to go we can start.... I was hoping to play this time, but if no one else is running a 1-2 I will. It would start at 6 on the dot and we'd have chronicle signed and be watching the other table by 10pm ;). Let me know if no one else is running something so i can buy a scenario and set it up. I'll get something that'll scale JIC.
Peace,
Luth

How do people feel about the sequel to Among the Living (Among the Dead)? or I could start a first season trilogy with "The Devil We Know".... both can be run 1-2 if we get new blood and have level 1s... or both scale to 3-4 or 6-7...
I'd like to get a show of hands, so I'll give it a couple of days before I purchase... don't let me down fellas if folks that are normally gaming with us just are coming to the forums, then give them a nudge.
Love you guys, really,
Peace and hippy flowers,
Luth
P.S. Grats on the Summer job Goon... I promise to get you to work on time even if we start at 6pm... you have my word... 5 second rule is in affect, no taking 2 minutes to decide your action in combat.

1 person marked this as a favorite. |
I would love to play Amoung the Dead! Or anything for that matter. But I would be down for Amoung the Dead. I have a second level now. Woot. Congrats on the job Goon! I think if possible the one at 5 and the one at 6 would be good. I talked to my work today and I can be somewhat to pretty flexible. But if I can't make every game session I can't. I would rather have to miss some games rather than making it to where other people couldn't play at all.
On a side note if anyone wanted to help me get started on being a GM and understanding what needs to be done, I am down to learn and fill in so some of our other GM's can play. I can see how it would be a drag to always GM.
Another note was it StrangePackages who GM'ed We Be Goblins?

I want to take a few lines to let you guys know that Leej is an awesome gamer and person. She has been gaming with us here in Kentucky for the last year, and I am very sad to see her leave. We played through the entire Kingmaker AP together. We've dabbled with Curse of teh Crimson Throne and Carrion Crown. We've played a good amount of PFS, and we've experimented with non-PF games. So, treat her well, welcome her into your group, and eventually coax her into running a game (she's good at that too). She will, in all likelihood, be a fun, reliable, awesome new member of your community.

@exile, thanks, we're looking forward to seeing her at our biweekly games, though I will be out of town on her first weekend up here. :(
But there is always two weeks later! :)
She'll also be getting up here just before we have another FLGS open up ... oh how we are all looking forward to that. :)
@Varrian Lunari, yep, that was StrangePackage who was having folks sing goblin songs in public. ;)

Good scenario. If you want to borrow a printed copy, I have the one I ran for the Con last weekend.

I'm willing to help ya with whatever ya need. You should try it out even if you don't continue it is an experience everyone should try at least once.
It gives you a greater respect for all the people that GM and what they put into each session. I learn alot every time I run.How do people feel about the sequel to Among the Living (Among the Dead)? or I could start a first season trilogy with "The Devil We Know".... both can be run 1-2 if we get new blood and have level 1s... or both scale to 3-4 or 6-7...
"Among the Dead" sounds good and I've played "The devil We Know" 2-4, so when ya get to those I will probably run some stuff.
zylphryx |
I wouldn't say it's a drag to GM regularly; it really all depends on what aspects of the game you like. If you don't like those aspects associated with GMing, then yeah, it would be a drag. If youdo like those aspects, then it really can be a blast.
The biggest thing for GMing is to be very familiar with the rules and be willing to make a judgement call when needed (even if it is wrong) to keep the game moving.
And yes, I would also say everyone shoudl try it at least once at some point. It really can be quite fun and entertaining, especially when the players make you think "huh ... I never would have thought of trying that".

Unfortunatly, Varrian, I won't be able to join you guys on the 26th. Parents are in town for the bi-annual visit and are taking us to Curate. But I will try hard to make up for that later on in June when I don't have so many family constraints.
Exile- thanks for the heads up regarding Leej. I know that Goon and Arvandor both live out towards Franklin, and though it IS quite a schlepp into Asheville, maybe carpooling is in order. Potentially, you guys could form the APLW... since we already have APLN and APLS.
In any event, we look forward to adding a dedicated new gamer to our ranks, and should she decide to do more than just PFS, we have at least 3 or 4 campaigns going on in the area.

I know that many of you are fresh from Geekout last weekend, but are any of you all coming to Myrtle Beach this Friday-Sunday for XCon? It's a local con that will have SCARAB GMs running PFS (SO far about 12 tables available) and Board gaming too.
I would love to attend but I already ruled it out a month ago due to the distance. I'm working now and can't get out of it.

So it looks like we have Nick and Dain aka Zylphryx and Avarandor definitely running games and QC in reserve with a third.
I'll buy both Among the Dead and The Devil We Know and prep them for future dates.
Nick/Avarandor, I'll see you Sunday ( still need the third level iterration of Devon) and I'll see the rest of you crazy kids next Saturday.
Peace,
Luth

Hello everyone! this is my first post. I had a blast at GeekOut and can't wait to game with you all again. I won't make it the 26th because I will be returning from the beach, but I can't wait to make it to a different meeting. Is there a calander on this website where I can check in and see when the next one is?

He gave me the sheet- he just didn't fill out the top part with HIS number etc.
Hence why I'm trying to bug him.

Glad we made such a lasting impression on you! We'll look forward to seeing you on the 9th.
We may be trying to do something on National Free RPG day, Saturday June 16. Whether or not we are able to pull that off remains to be seen- but we might have a new location if everything goes according to plan.

We can discuss a special event for WTs grand opening on free rpg day when we meet next Saturday. I've already promised to run a game for them in the evening on the 16th... maybe folks that don't work weekends could run a earlier game too... we'll have to get in touch with them... i'll message them on fb
EDITS: on another note: HOLY CRAP this would be cool to pull off....Year of the Shadow Lodge
