Yes, her mantis parts could be brass in colour, or just one limp, which would be some magical part of her body where she can do magical tricks with.

I'm fine with her being a lamia-species, that really would make sense as well!

I do not hope to see a half lion/mantis tho, I hope to see a half human/mantis that would make more sense to me, her face must be humanoid but insectoid eyes or other features could be there, maybe a mouth that grows horrible into mandibles.

This would take care of the Dragon78's She-Mantis as well.

The flaming hairs should be brass, green or any other color other than red.

And they could have magical abilities much like Lampades, that said Empusae could also be some kind of insectoid/mutant nymph variant.

Another cool insectoid form seen in the newest god of war game is the fury Megaera.

Megaera

That could be cool for an eventual Empusa as well.

But something inside me tells me that if we ever see an Empusa it will be based on the true (silly) myth looks... And another thing tells me Empusa will be seen in the Demon Adventure Path bestiary, and not in the next bestiary, it really suits the demon AP.

Quote:

Mahaha: The Tickler

Mahaha is a maniacal demon that is said to have terrorized parts of the arctic
long ago. This creature is a thin sinewy being, ice blue in colour and cold to the
touch. Mahaha’s eyes are white and piercing, and they peer through the long
stringy hair that hangs over its face. This demon is extremely strong and is
always seen barefooted and almost naked.
Mahaha is a stealthy creature that creeps up on unsuspecting Inuit.
When it gets close enough, Mahaha delights in tickling its victims to
death with its sharp vicious nails attached to its long bony
fingers. The only warning a victim ever receives is the giggles
of excitement Mahaha cannot contain as it approaches.
Mahaha’s unfortunate victims face an agonizing death of
screams and laughter as they are tickled and tickled until
their breath leaves their bodies. Many elders have
commented on the horribly twisted smiles left on
the faces of Mahaha’s victims.
Although this demon is vicious and evil, Mahaha is
easily fooled. Most of the stories told about
Mahaha end with it being deceived. Usually,
Mahaha is tricked into leaning over a water hole to
take a drink and is pushed into the open water and
swept away by the currents.
So, if Mahaha ever corners you alone, ask it to have
one last drink with you by the water hole, so you can
push it in.

With all these Inuit creatures about in the AP Bestiaries and Bestiary 3.

Isn't it time for the most awesome Inuit demon to enter the world of Pathfinder?

An icy demon that tickles you to death with its enormous nails, and when you die you leave a freaky happy, frozen smile on your face.

Reminds me of Lost Girl, all the succubus victims also die with a freaky smile.

Anyway what are the thoughts about Mahaha? Too funny? Too stupid? Pathetic? Or awesome?

There is also some unkillable mouse monster in Inuit mythology, a monster mouse that hides under turned-over kayak-boats and has this piercing tail on which it impales victims and pulls them under water.

Does anyone knows about this creature? And what is it called? I'm 100% sure it excist as I stumbled upon it once on google, but I can't find it anymore.

For Inuit demons, it'd be cool to see Kigatilik.

Kallikantzaros

A Kallikantzaros (Greek: Καλλικάντζαρος) pl. Kallikantzaroi malevolent goblins in Greek folk tradition. They dwell underground but come to the surface during the twelve days of Christmas, from 25 December to 6 January (from the winter solstice for a fortnight during which time the sun ceases its seasonal movement). Its name is possibly derived from "kalos-kentauros, or "beautiful centaur".[1]

Who else feels that Kallikantzaros would make the perfect half Goblin half Gecko or Goblin Dog centauric creature?

So much like a goblin centaur with the lower body of a giant gecko or goblin dog. Or maybe a Mite centaur with the lowerbody of any insect.

Ok a small project I’ve been working on (from time to time adding in some stuff) is finished I guess.

Here is my thought on what Bestiary 4 could/should look like.

I think there should be many creatures from real mythologys and folkloric tales from around the entire planet in here, I’ve depleted the Egyptian, Greek, Norse, Slavic, Arabic, Persia, English, Inuit, Wild African, Filipino, Asian, Native American, Aztec and even Australia’s mythologies to come up with the coolest, most bizarre and creepy monsters.

I’ve added many missing vermin, like Moths, Starfishes, Urchins, Earwigs and Assassin Bugs I could think off and some already existing groups get some new additions as well, but only if I think they really need it.

Within are also many monsters which hold powers/abilities that none of the existing creatures of pathfinder hold yet, like magnetic powers, twin soul powers, gravity powers and the ability to absorb material in ones skin.

Further there are many monsters from Adventure Path bestiaries, I’ve only added the most wanted and my own favorites in there.

Also some monsters from other Paizo products, like some Daemons from the Horseman of Apocalypse book and some terrain-bound creatures from frozen and island based books, such as the Huldra and Chickcharney.

And yes it also holds some Robots, only 4 tho, I really don’t like the book to become too futuristic.

I tried to hold as many traditional stuff as possible, like adding 2 new trolls, 2 new spiders, 1 new zombie and 5 new dragons.

I’ve added some templates here and there, but there aren’t much as I’m not really a big fan of them, I do understand that they need to be there to please the die-hard monster creators.

There are also some Tome of Horror monsters I really like to see in full color and also the last of the interesting D&D 3.5 Monster manuals monsters like the Formians, Sea Cat, Arrowhawk and Ravid. Some monsters come also from the D&D Psionic Handbook and some like the Phane, Atropal and Sirrush come straight...

Wow this list is great. But why is Grendel a CR 20+ mythic encounter? There isn't really anything impressive about that thing aside of being from a big epic. He ate some soldiers and then got his arm ripped off. He should be CR 8-10 in my opinion. Especially considering the fact that other truly divine mythological beings(Humbaba with CR 19)stand much lower.

The Phane or some other monster with time manipulation is definately needed.

Thanks :)

I don't really know why I gave Grendel such a high CR, I guess because its an unique creature.

In my updated list he's not so powerful anymore tho.

I've added a lot prehistoric creatures and theme's to the mix and some from the Epic Level Handbook from D&D.

So much like a goblin centaur with the lower body of a giant gecko or goblin dog. Or maybe a Mite centaur with the lowerbody of any insect.

With goblin dogs and goblin snakes and (potentially) goblin sharks, I'm about goblin-hybrided out. A mite-drider with the lower half of a centipede, on the other hand, that's a bit more creepy/awesome sounding.

Plus the idea gets the music stuck in my head. "Mite Drider! A shadowy flight into the dangerous world of a creature that does not exist..."

If something was going to be half-giant-gecko (or crocodile or komodo dragon or whatever), a kobold or lizardfolk or nagaji might fit better, visually, to keep both ends reptilian.

Japanese myhology
Ihika (Tailed man or kami from wells and springs)
Iwaosiwake (Tailed Man or Kami from cave)
They are savants of First Emperor Jinmu.

I want a monster with this THIS ability.

I think the Serbian BAUK is best suited for that ability, as it is said to be a shadowy hole in the wall.

Imagen a dark inn room where suddenly all kinds of black shadow holes appear everywhere on the walls, some large, some small.
From the largest hole two cat like eyes appear, some nasty big toothed smile appears later and you hear a nasty laughter before the Shadow Bogeyman kidnaps you and takes all your stuff with you. The next day the innkeeper will find an extremly eerie empty room, the Bauk not only took you, it also took all your stuff and gear, leaving the room empty.
Some innkeepers of course are threatnend by the Bauk and work for them, luring customers into the special Bauk infested room, often on number 13.

The creature would kinda look like this: Chesire Cat but instead of a squire it would be a circle hole in the wall, the true form of the creature looks kinda like Tailypo from the bedtime story.

I like the idea of the Kallikantzaros. Along with the Grindylow, this'd make a pretty cool addition and twist to the Level 1 minion line up.

[Gaasyendietha the Meteor Dragon

All the cool stuff you could do with Gaasyendietha, the Meteor Dragon, this would be the dream of all dragon fans and science fiction fans combined.

A gigantic, mythic, alien space dragon, like Tzitzimitl a destroyer of worlds, it would travel the universe as meteor and crush in on the next planet with its Rarog (Fey which can travel in the form of meteors) armies, destroying all life there in the course of years and eventually claiming the planet for its own purpose or destroy the planet all together.

Gaasyendietha would have been cool in bright purple/red/black colours or just maybe in meteor colours with lava flows on it or so.

Anyway Gaasyendietha would be cool next to Peluda, Pyrausta, Ladon and other such non-5 group classic-dragon look dragons.

What famous movie/game monsters can you tick off the list if you use the Mahaha demon.

Lord Raptor of Darkstalkers
Mahaha has Lord Raptors insane character and smile in common.

Pennywise the Horror Clown
Mahaha has this clowns insane sense of humor, also its insane behavior and chaotic-ness. It clip

Freddy Kruger
Mahaha has Freddies insane hunger of killing, its nails are often used to freak out prey before being used to kill it. Mahaha also is as creative in killing as freddy is, tickling its prey to death with its sharp nails or freezing them to death while still making them laugh with a spell.

Vegeta
What does a inuit demon have in common with a anti-hero from dragonball? Well only one thing really, its insane hairstyle, only the hair of mahaha would be made of ice crystals like stuff, frozen hair.

Lady Deathstrike from X-men the movie 2
Mahaha has almost the same nails as this cool chick, but they are made from dark ice not adamantine, they they break he just grows news ones.

Also: Joker
Carnage

I'm still not sure about Mahaha's type.

Fey, Demon, Bogeyman, Undead... everything is possible.

I like to see them Demon or Bogeyman, there are enough humanoid undead (+ winterwight would be too familiar) and I think its too demonic to be fey.

Elder Mephit!! That would be awesome! I agree it would be nice to put all the Lovecraftian monsters in a Bestiary.

I like to see them Demon or Bogeyman, there are enough humanoid undead (+ winterwight would be...

As a horror fan, I would say Mahaha has only superficial similarities to the creatures you list:

Freddy Krueger schtick wasn't so much the razor-blade gloves (which are iconic for the character) or his humor (which was played up as the series went down hill), it was that he could kill you in his dreams, plus his origin is pretty damn horrible: A pedophile and child killer burned to death and taking his revenge against the children who wronged him.

Pennywise plays off the "clowns are creepy trope". Mahaha tickles people but doesn't much look clownish, nor is it all that bright. Furthermore, an extra layer of creepy is added on by the eldritch abomination origin of Pennywise, plus the fact it can take on the form of different fears (which are not necessarily clownish)

And lady deathstrike had metal claws, but was a cyborg, who IIRC was in love with Wolverine, or used to be. So again, other than claws, not much like Mahaha. Don't know the other examples you provide.

I would like to see Mahaha, but it probably works better as an icy fey creature/particularly large gremlin, and probably something on the lower end of the CR scale, not nightmarish creature like Pennywise or Freddy.

I'd like to see more elementals.

[tangent]

A LSH fanfic variation had a space dragon's egg come crashing down onto a planet (only burning up in atmospheric entry and an earth-quake triggering impact could crack the shell enough for the larval space dragon to break free of the nearly indestructible shell), and release a cloud of contagion that turned all creatures exposed to it into half-dragons overcome with a powerful homing instinct and a ravening hunger, so that they gorged themselves on everything, clearing a path of devastation as they traveled to the site of the crash, where they were immediately devoured by the larval space dragon, basically allowing the sessile creature to 'order out' for dinner (with the template half-dragon creatures also transforming anything it might not find ideally digestible into yummy half-dragon meat optimized for it's own nutritional needs).

Once it's fed enough, it burrows deeper into the earth and triggers a volcanic eruption to hurl it into the upper atmosphere so that it can reach it's final home, in outer space.

That could be a funky AP. A plague of half-dragon critters running around eating everything in sight, and travelling always towards a central point, where, if the PCs don't kill enough spawn to prevent it from growing to 'stage 2' (and then kill the larval space dragon itself, before it's too powerful to kill) a volcano will erupt, devastating adjacent kingdoms... Odd tactics might involve poisoning or inflicting disease on spawn, and allowing the larval space dragon to eat them, causing it to be weakened for the final conflict, or just collapsing the mountain-crater upon it, so that it's spawn can never reach it to feed it (causing it to slip into hibernation).

I would like to see some new ways to use monsters. Some templates to allow creatures to easily scale up and down the level range a good distance (+/- 5) with some "common build" options such as wizard, ranger or barbarian. A nice logical way that allows a "swarm" effect to be applied to low CR creatures so large numbers of creatures can be easily thrown at higher level PCs. And my personal favourite a set of guidelines to allow creatures well above the normal scale to be designed.

I know the real mahaha doesn't have this powers, but real leshies look like old men, not toadstools and cute little cartoony creatures as wel.

I like the inuit crittes to be powerful and horrid, and as we never see It the clown or freddy in pathfinder bestiaries, I like a monster with the same behavior and attitude (not powers, we already ahve Leng Spider and Night Hags to cover their powers) but there isn't a clownish-humor-horror creature yet and I can see Mahaha (based on descriptions and pictures found on google) have that attitude, humor and insane-ness, toying and tickling its victim while laughing hysterical, and then when he gets bored with its prey killing them, much like Joker from badman also does, insane but still pretty smart in the stuff he does.

I think this would be better off as an entire new book or small book about templates, as this would really take up LOTS of pages in bestiary 4.

Elder Mephit!! That would be awesome! I agree it would be nice to put all the Lovecraftian monsters in a Bestiary.

Yes, why have all elemental-type mephits as you can simply have one cool Mephit that absorbs any elemental substance it touches into its body and becomes the same-elemental type as what it touches.

Being hit by a fire spell for example turns the Elder Mephit into a fire mephit and touching the ground would turn it into a earth mephit, then hit it with your adamantine sword and you have to deal with an Adamantine Mephit.

Kinda Zorbo-D&D, but with a much better look then that oversized Koala bear.

To add to your list of butterflies comes one I used in my games in the past.

The creature is as of yet unnamed as I find the most logical name (Bloodbutterfly) to be rather silly.

It's a swarming creature, hundreds of pure white butterflies that move as a single unit. They descend on their prey as a single unit and drain it of blood, turning their wings blood red. They remain on their victim long after it's killed and they are with so many that you can't see it's actually a corpse under them until they take wing. Their caterpillar consume the dessicated flesh.

I made them for a homebrew game. The first time my players encountered them they were scared s~~$less as the harmless looking butterflies left a dessicated corpse and headed in their direction.

Then again, they were also scared by the Time Elementals I made, which had no attack but aged or rejuvenated everything in a radius around them, severity determined by proximity. The scary part was their death though as it ripped a hole in the fabric of time, basically creating a Gate of a size one smaller than the elemental and a random Outsider of that size would come through. It was a bit overkill, but resulted in hilarious situations when one elemental spawned a Planetar while the other spawned a Balor.

I agree, we do need more elementals, some with standard elemental theme(fire, water, air, earth) and combinations of 2 or more of those elements. Also new ones like time, positive energy(life, quintessence, etc.), negative energy(decay, death, etc.), and dream elementals.

Mahaha as an fey, icy or otherwise, would be interesting. We need more fey from non-European/Russian cultures like Asian, native American, etc.

While the elemental absorbing thing is cool I would rather have something more powerful/interesting then a mephit with this ability.

Now that we have a winter template for fey how about a summer one that is fire based and good aligned.

Dragons from space sounds interesting as well. I would love dragons themed on space/stars/cosmic stuff or some species that come from other planets.

More crystal based monsters, a crystal creature template that turns creatures into living crystal with elemental and earth subtypes.

More monsters that can petrify, baleful polymorph, and other transmutation effects. Small size creature that likes to magically shrink it's prey before it swallows and eats them. Creature who's body is like a bag of holding so it can swallow a lot of creatures.

Monster whose body parts still attack after being severed would be cool.

Swarm of killer butterflies, I like it.

We have creatures that attack you while you sleep/dream but they can't physical harm in your dreams like Freddy can besides we have hundreds of creatures that can attack you physically why not have a couple more that attacks you in your dreams.

Elementals that are combinations of other elementals are already in bestiary 2, I think 4 new elementals for each bestiary is cool, and more unique elementals (time ect) should be next as fire/ice/air elementals are all over the place already.

Mahaha as a non ice based fey wouldn't make much sense, its called a demon and its from a frozen place, so if they make it a fey and non-ice type then it should have another name, the frost stuff is the most important thing the creature has.

I think the Mephit is the best creature for this because they are so elemental based.

This would be 100% be the Kaw Kaw bogeyman.

I thought Night Hags could do just that? And i'm sure Animated Nightmares can do that too. Normally Incubi can also attack you in your dreams, but because they are made weaker than Succubi they lost that ability probably.

Those remind me of the flower swarms of D&D's Fiendfolio/Monster Manual 3 (3.5 edition) and of the Vampire Rose which also starts out white but ends up red after it consumed blood.

Names could be Vampiric Butterfly Swarm, Carnage Swarm, or some original name without butterfly and vampire in it.

Plant or wood elemental. At their CR, shambling mounds come rather late to the game for such a basic concept.

That said, more american folk-lore monsters would be greatly appreciated:

So I pretty much hate this idea if you call the book its in a Bestiary. If you don't I'm much, Much, MUCH more open to it.

This might be a topic for another thread (anyone who gets keen on the idea is free to start one) but what would folks think of a product somewhere between a Bestiary and the "Revisited" Campaign Setting series? Something that was like "Goblins are keen! Lets tell you a bit about goblins" followed by stats for a goblin warchanter, goblin goblindog rider, goblin fish flinger, goblin pig wrestler, goblin chief-wrangler, goblin chief, etc--a wide variety of goblins of varying builds and CRs. A book that adds utility and ready-to-use statistics to classic creatures.

Goblins, orcs, lizardfolk, giants, ogres, classic, regularly used, versatile stuff seems most appropriate to my mind. I don't see a section with 10 new manananggal.

But again, not as a bestiary--not as something that replaces the chance to have an entirely new monster--as another thing. Any interest?

The idea has come up in I think the NPC codex 2 thread, but this would be wonderful. I would love a book of different monster NPCs. Although I completely agree that such a book isn't a bestiary (but would be appropriate for the NPC codex line)

O yess, I can see it all happen in August, the first Bestiary 4 intro/anouncement blog with 4 added pictures, one of Kikimora, on of Bloody Bones, one of Jack in Irons and one of Asrai or Phooka, all from non-official Pathfinder books, brought to Paizo in full colour. ;-)

Well, we've already gotten a full-colour illustration of a kikimora in The Shackled Hut. (As well as an unusually well covered up baccae from Tome of Horrors: The Weightlifter Edition.)

I still like it in a bestiary tho, having all these pictures and monsters together in one bestiary is so much better than spread over 100 products...

I also forgot about Rarog, Erling and Leanan Sidhe, make that ALL fey from: Fey Folio: Clans of the Fey They should all be taken into the bestiary 4.
Remember that almost ALL creatures from the bonus bestiary and misfit monsters book were taken into bestiary 3? Well that's why they can also take all these fey into bestiary 4, mostly because all those fey come straight from folklore, mythology and fantasy stories, and most of them are pretty awesome!

I would change the CR on Erlkonig/Erlking to something higher tho, and I would make Jack in Irons not a unique high level creature but a fey giant of around CR 17.

Also, fish creatures (alien or based on mythology/real world fish) that swim in: Lava, Sand, Ice and Snow. There are many water based fish, but some strange Sand Marlins, Ice Piranha's and Lava Archer Fish would be cool.

I'm kinda disappointed that there is so little information about Tsemaus online... I would like to see a Tsemaus line of fish monsters that can also swim in deserts, tundra and Vulcanoes, armored with their sharp dorsail fins they would be covered in armor plating to withstand the lava, or cold and heat of the tundra and deserts.

Tsemaus

Tsemaus is the one with the high dorsal fin

This could be a cool sand Tsemaus

This would be an interesting lava fish or lava tsemaus

And this would be a cool ice shark or ice tsemaus creature

Fey are always good. Though I am personally more in favor of the more primal spirits of natural features and forces, not so much in spirits related to humanoid activities and civilization.

Gorbacz, out of pure curiosity: Did you ever post ontopic in this topic about a bestiary 4, regardless if you use it for gaming or the pictures, or if you just collect monster books? Or do you just like to hook on me?

I sometimes play the game, but not as dungeonmaster, it could help if I knew more people who are less into going out and gay-stuff and more people that are into the role-playing-games.
And of course Holland doesn't have so much Pathfinder-addicts as America probably... and i'm not really good in making new friends as you notice here.

I mostly like monster books for my collection and I create my own "miniatures" from the pictures in the books, which I use in different-kinds of games, not in role playing games, but I still use the monsters, fluff and gods/worlds of pathfinder in those games (board and rpg computer games), all for my own useage of course, don't wanna be a criminal.

@Yora, can you name some Fey that are related to humanoid activities and civilization? Do you mean Bogeymen and Springheel Jacks with that?

The old-school 'elemental monsters' were, IIRC, aerial stalker, salamander, water weird and xorn. I kind of miss the water weird.

Of the 3.X replacements, the arrowhawk was okay. The thoqqua was very neat, but broken as all hell (I summon one and bore straight through the dungeon / destroy the enemy castle). The less said about the tojanida, the better. I think the only good use of it was in an AP where they served one stuffed with a stirge or something, as a fantasy medieval turducken.

Some sort of crysmals-for-a-new-generation could be neat. Spiders made of diamond-hard crystal that inject petrifying toxin with their bite and that throw crystal webs that cut those they entangle. Could probably do it as a template to add to giant bugs, so that giant crystal centipedes, scorpions, beetles and wasps could also be an option (sans the webs).

Wouldn't those be the imperial Dragons from the Bestiary 3? I'd say a refluffed Sea Dragon'd be your best bet.

Also, for evil Fey, I know this is a weird one, but I'd love to see The Pincussion Man from that old cartoon "Balloon Land" made into an evil Fae. I mean, the cartoon's public domain so it'd be perfectly legal, and the thing feels a whole lot like those mythical fey-ish boogeymen like Rawhead, The Scissorman or the original Sandman (The one who rubbed kid's eyes out with coarse sand). What can I say, I love me my weird concepts.

No, because this dragon would be a lesser dragon type without age categories, I would say around CR8-10 range with a lot more spell powers, large size.

It sounds like tbok1992, you want some variant Boogeymen instead of a new creature. Too bad Boogeymen weren't chosen for the Fey Revisited book then there might have been some interesting variants in there.

Man I do miss the water weird from 2nd edition.

@Sincubus

Yeah, well, except now this is a 2200 post thread where more than a half posts are wishes of one guy who uses Bestiaries more as artbooks and he's mostly after having nice official color pictures of things he likes.

While of course everybody is a customer, I'd hazard a guess that 90% of B's are purchased by GMs who want to use them as gaming material. That means statblocks and ecology/background info are primary concerns, with nice art being a solid point but not enough to sell a book. I'd personally settle for B&W art and having it full color is something of a cherry on the top here. If I want cool monster pictures I can always comb DeviantArt or some other website, what I won't get anywhere easily is class rules and quality writing.

@Gorbacz:

Deviantart? Don't make me laugh, most of those monsters are drawn by 7 year old people that did it for a "friend"

I like pathfinders monster style, I like to read the entire book, I use them in my OWN Rpg's what more reasons do you need?
I probably use the book more than any Dungeon Master himself. (as I also use the stats and fluff, the only things that I don't use in a book are the templates and mosnters I really don't like.)

And let everybody have his/her hobby please, I don't mind if somebody dislikes my ideas, but my hobbies are my thing, not yours.

If you settle for B&W art, there is a book-line called Tome of Horrors, I see you there. ;)

Also I think not 90% of bestiaries is bought by DM, bestiaries are often a collectors item just as much as they are for DM's all those other books are mostly for DM's right like the NPC's book and such stuff, but monsters can be hobby/collection, especially if they are from mythology/folklore.

Right now, we don't have any dragons that make sense for a from-first-level mount for a cavalier archetype.

Also, we don't have any dragons that explain how you can get dragonhide medium full plate for a mere +1,650 gp premium (the only Colossal dragons in the whole game are linnorms and great wyrms, and the rarity of such suits alone should drive a premium higher than making full plate out of mere gold at +13,500 gp).

A single relatively weak monster of the dragon type (say, with a modified progression starting as a Large "wyrmling" about as strong as a horse and peaking in power as a Colossal "young adult") could both enable a dragonrider archetype and explain dragonhide armor.

I would like more bone based monsters that aren't humanoid skeletons or undead.

A monster that can summon bones from the ground, sharp pikes or entire dinosaur skeletons to fight for it.

A creature/elemental made from bones that absorbs bones into itself and becomes bigger and and more dangerous, it has the skull of a dragon.

a bone shapehifter would be awesome as well, becoming a giant skeleton serpent and then a bone dragon, only to fall from the sky and return as an entire army of skeletons.

A kyton with a bone-fetish would be possible too. Maybe one that can grab bones out of its own body and use them as weapons, see the most coolest X-men villan Marrow for an cool example of the power.

I would like to see the Bonesnapper return but EXTREMLY different than the boring dinosaur puppy with a bone collecting hobby, I would like to see it being able to summon the bones from its skin/body.

For example it can grow horns out of its skull, any form it desires, it can make a deer like antlers from the bones or ram like horns or maybe those of a antilope or unicorn, it can also summon sharp bone shards from its back if something want to jump it, or grow Wolverine (x-men) like claws.

This I'd definitely get. A beast similar to Dragon Magic's drakkensteed would be nice.

How hard can it be to make a low-CR large winged dragon with int 10 with a breath weapon which damage scales according to its HD?

I think the drake fits the role nicely. Large enough to be a mount, can be killed to create some lower end armor, and can make for a great dragon slaying adventures at level 2 and on. Granted, you can't make full plate from it, but I feel that such an expensive armor made from a rare material should probably be rare and difficult to make. It's like how mythril and adamantine are both really expensive and take forever to work, but it kind of makes sense since they are both rare and very study materials.

Although I suppose you could ask your gym if you can kill a lot of drakes and combine their parts to make a dragonhide full plate. I'd allow it.

I'd prefer the Dragon subtype remains RARE like they should be, creating yet another stroke of numberous drake-like creatures that can be mounted by humans is not really needed as there are drakes like Odraude already said.

Dragons are mystic and rare creatures, there is no point in them anymore if they are common as rats.

On Kytons, a bone-removing Kyton might be cool. I am immediately reminded of an adaptation of an old Ray Bradbury story (never read the story) I saw over a decade ago, about a guy that was afraid of his own skeleton and had it removed. I could definitely see some form of Kyton which took a body modification route of removing his bones.

i.e. dragons, a dragon-rider base class would not be a bad idea, however I am wondering if it would be best just to start the dragon off as a hatchling, and as the character levels it grows in power. Something like what is going on with Daenery's dragons in Game of Thrones. You wouldn't be able to ride one right away but a shoulder-mounted flame-thrower is still useful.
