If you play a two weapon fighter with mithril battle axes are they considered light for the purpose of the two weapon fighting feat?
No, Mithral "An item made from mithral weighs half as much as the same item made from other metals. In the case of weapons, this lighter weight does not change a weapon's size category or the ease with which it can be wielded (whether it is light, one-handed, or two-handed). Items not primarily of metal are not meaningfully affected by being partially made of mithral. (A longsword can be a mithral weapon, while a quarterstaff cannot.) Mithral weapons count as silver for the purpose of overcoming damage reduction."
Mithral weapons have little use (in terms of game mechanics) and aren't cost effective.
Axl wrote: Mithral weapons have little use (in terms of game mechanics) and aren't cost effective. They do overcome damage reduction silver without taking a -1 to damage that normal silver weapons incur.
Do keep in mind that mithril weapons count as silver for damage reduction and halve the weight of the weapons. So it was a natural choice for my werewolf hating 10 str rogue.
...and are sexy.

I agree. That's the best reason for having them.

I disagree!
Style is Substance.
Anyways, a benefit of Mithral not mentioned yet - and dependent upon your GM - 5 higher hardness than steel.

To be honest, silversheen (Qadira book, IIRC) is a better material if you want silver without losing damage, since it also makes it rustproof...

also dagger weigh 1lb, halfling daggers weigh 0.5lb
mithral halfling daggers cost 252 gp
master work halfling daggers cost 302 gp
And Mithril weapons just scream WEALTH!
money = power = status
Guy in Mithril chain shirt is a Rogue looking for the best equipment money can buy.
Sexy lady with Mithril daggers and cut-away leather cat suit? Priceless ("actually no darling, I'm just very expensive" she purrs in her best Chelaxian accent)....

Anything made from Mithral is also automatically masterwork without having to pay the extra cost and can be enchanted.
Mithrail = Sexy, and sex appeal wins at everything.
A nonmagical mithral weapon has the same attack and damage as a +1 silver weapon. Of course, unless we're talking about a weapon originally weighing 8 pounds or less, the magic silver weapon is cheaper.
