Animal Companion Identity Crisis

Help my master is a...

Human Cavalier 1/Oracle of Nature 1/Druid 1/Ranger 4... who is thinking of abandoning Druid to become a paladin. What am I? What are we? What will I be?

And he's thinking of trading me in for a "Boon Companion"

What will she/they be?

I'm thinking of getting a new job with a gnome or halfling. Then what will I/we be?

Thanks,

You Favorite Furry/Scaly Friend,

~MBF

(P.S. lots of cuddles, sniffs and licks!)

Uh...what exactly are you asking rules-wise here?

He may be asking if they stack so lets see

*Human cav you are limited to large critters most likely a horse or camel. This one does not stack
*Oracle of nature: Bonded mount, limited to something that can carry you.. so you get a second horse or camel.
*Druid: This one stacks with one of em
*Ranger: I am not sure if this one stacks or not, my gut is no as the mounts are not on the ranger list.

So you have at lest 2 mounts one a level 1 and one at level 2 with a 3rd animal at level 1

Boon companion could help one of em, but you would need to take it three times to help with all of em. And if you take enough levels in paladin to gain another mount, it does not stack, so you gain a 3rd

It may or may not stack, but Camel, Horse, and Pony are on the ranger list.

You are either a horse or a camel with statistics as a 4th level druid's companion. All of these abilities refer back to the druid's animal companion rules, which say that effective druid levels stack, and the cavalier's horse or camel is legal for all the other classes. You started play with combat training. You have Light Armor Proficiency as a bonus feat. Your Intelligence is at least 6.

If your master takes two levels of Paladin and chooses Boon Companion as his 9th level feat, your stats increase to those of an 8th level druid's companion, as a 2nd level paladin doesn't yet have the Divine Bond ability. At 12th level (Cavalier 1/Oracle 1/Druid 1/Ranger 4/Paladin 5) your stats increase to those of a 12th level druid's companion, as his paladin levels kick in.

If your master had been a gnome or halfling, you would most likely be a pony, wolf or dog. If you were a boar, you would have 3rd level stats and he would have another 1st level companion from the ranger list.
