Say you have a high level player who is a Cleric of Rovagug. Cool. Well, one of your life goals would be to release a spawn of Rovagug, or Rovagug himself. As a GM, what would you reward that player for releasing a spawn? Sure the sheer joy of watching total annihilation as the spawn marks a path of destruction should be reward enough(well XP too). Would you give some kind of artifact or weapon for this? What would be fitting and not insulting for there hard work.

No. Rovagug isn't interested enough in the wellbeing of his mortal clerics to provide them such boon for fullfilling their role in unleashing destruction upon the world.
If you (GM) want to reward the character, give him something that might well come from himself (semi-permanent morale bonus, a special feat that gives him fighting abilities somewhat resembling the creatures, one or two loyal and fanatic followers...)

A Priest of Rovagug, the gorger, destructor of the world, expects a reward for releasing an ultimate form of destruction that hopefully will destroy the known world?
I guess that, being an insane homicidal megalomaniac, everything is possible, but in this case it should be delusional.
Rovagug is certainly in no positions to award or even recognize anyone and even if he were, he most liekly wouldn't stop his rampage long enough. Dito for his spawn.

I'd probably give him a sphere of annihilation. Hopefully he can control that thing fast, because it's showing up active and working.

If you're going to go, go in a smile.
If you have any friends left at this point, they can maybe bring you back from the pellet trail ...

It's as Jal said. Look to Pathfinder Gods & Magic for information. The cleric should be rewarded with a quick death. As a cleric of Rovagug, that PC should be glad, as that's the ultimate reward.

Sorta like a quick energy bar, before he dashes off to visit his ol' wrastlin' buddy - Sarenrae?
