MORNING BREE! :)

I just got on and ordered the new Pathfinder Basic boxed set as an xmas pressie, look forward to seeing if it matches the sense of wonder and nostalgia I used to feel about my old Basic D&D set...

Well I had the white box, but there was something mystical and magical about the old basic box.

Me thinks I should work on Ragnvalds dialogue a bit. Him speaking in "saga speak" works but I keep getting the feeling he's sounding too smart and not epic enough. Like nearly every phrase is as intense as King Leonidas in 300 passionate and wise but not book smart.

Talk like a clown indeed...

I just finished Beowulf (again) (the Seamus Heaney Translation), there is some good stuff in it-I'd end every sentence with:

Sorry everybody, I just had a hellish day of school yesterday and I'm off to Seattle now for the night to see a jazz concert. I won't be able to post today, but I'll be back tomorrow.

So since All Hallow's Eve quickly approaches, what is everybody carving for jack-o-lanterns (or what have you carved already?)? And what is everybody dressing up as?

Halloween isn't much of a big deal in this country, its still light at 8pm so kind of loses the effect. That said, there is a bit of a nod to it so my kid is rocking the Vampire look and bringing friends over for a spooky slumber party.

I haven't had a dress-up party for a while myself. This chick I know used to put them on, but her and her friends just stuck to 'naughty nurse' or 'schoolgirl'... different sort of party I suppose.

Divine Gamemaster of the Abyss and below...

What is Sable dressing up as? I'd go as Captain nemo :)

Female Human Rogue-Knife Master/10 (Init: +4)

I probably won't do anything more than a bit of face paint for myself (if that) but I've bought a Super Girl costume for my little girl. I usually wait until closer to Halloween night to carve anything because I want the pumpkin to stay as fresh as possible. My CTS keeps me from doing anything too precise, and I've never really been artistically inclined, so I'll just stick with a traditional jack o' lantern face.

Good morning everyone.

So, Bree's chasing a Drow all by herself on the assumption that her group won't want the Drow to get away. So, if her group isn't going to chase after her too, will the group please call Bree back, lmao?

Awesome! Well I'm off to watch Dr Who for a bit, see if I can make my day take a turn for the better. So far, it's not been so pleasant. I'll check back in later on. If I don't catch you on again before you crash, goodnight :)

Yeah the Haunts are pretty nasty.

That first one that hit Attalas would have been pretty much an instant kill on most L1s, and whats worse is now we get AOE pnes too...

Nasty they are in two campaigns.

The Harry plan is just to present the smallest possible target to the traps, to preserve the main force... its why we have scouts at the head of a section. Q: How do we know when we are recieving effective fire? A: Scout disappears in a pink mist.

Male Orc Expert 5

Just hoping Celestra remembers that wand I beat drums and raised money for. I have a strong feeling we're going to need to preserve our cleric carefully in here.

I'd also like to preserve our scout. One that gets turned into pink mist won't be able to go to the next room to have a second go.

EDIT: G~$+#%it.

Celestra used the wand. However, I cannot remember the casting level. Also how many charges does it have? I need to get it down on my character sheet.

First level and fifty charges. A fresh wand straight out of the book.

Well it looks like I'm getting zero bites on people wanting to play in council of thieves. Lost a player due to lack of posting and now the replacement (the one guy who responded) disappeared too.

So I'm going to take a more drastic measure and start asking if anyones interested in this thread?

What level on the CoT? I could try it, it is one of the few APs that I am not in. I may have applied for yours, don't remember.

Let me think about it. Looks like you need a spellcaster. Let me figure out whether I want a wizard or sorcerer, or perhaps a witch, have never played one. I will try to put up an idea tomorrow if work is not too hectic.

Since we have accumulated about another 5k posts in all campaigns, I wanted to ask if everyone's still content or if there are any things that could be better etc. Just a short check if you are still having fun - I do :)

Time for another questionaire at about 20k posts I think, the last one was really helpful.

Zyren and Mark Sweetman:
Still having a lot of fun with HoRiddles. Well maybe more loot?...Seriously I brag to my friends about how great a game it and the one Im in with DM Voice of the Voiceless (AKA Mark Sweetman) are. Theyve both ended up in a couple of games that have fallen flat after a very short time. If either of you get a spot open in a game would you consider giving them a shot? Otherwise just keep bringing the RP greatness like you have been. Thanks!

Divine Gamemaster of the Abyss and below...

Stiehl9s:

I'm not sure about Grmbln atm, he posts like twice per week atm, if that won't get better, I have to talk to him, maybe he is just in too many campaigns, then a spot would surely open up.

Male Pale Master

Zyren:
Thanks. I kinda coerced both of them into trying out these games (we've all table topped together for about 15 years or so now) and it seems every game but one that theyve gotten into either falls apart after a month or the DM only posts once a week and such. Hate to lose my good pal Corvax though and really hope his inactivity is temporary.

Stiehl9s:
Sure will keep them in mind. Nothing open right now, but you never know what is around the corner.
What are their Paizo messageboard handles?

Zyren - Heart of Pulp is ticking along nicely as far as I'm concerned. Just need the fascists to play nice and group up so I can toss some more grenades :)

Can't say that I have any complaints about either campaign I'm in. Riddles is getting right into the thick of things, and Journeys has so much in-party banter it's great! I'm really looking forward to seeing where each one is going.

I've got more experience with the Riddles crew but Journeys are doing a great job thus far finding themselves.

Keep up the great work!

Oh what a vexing situation when you are more clever than your character. Gonna have to do some heavy thinking to express my deductions through a goblin.

Ha! I'm running into a similar situation in my tabletop game. I'm playing a half-orc barbarian, and am having difficulty figuring out WWMD (what woudl Morthaad do??). It's tough playing a personality that is so different to yours as to be alien.

Yeh - I love the goblin and ogre in Journeys, and the evangelist is a riot, not sure how to make the tiefling different, most of my characters tend to have somewhat similar personalities.

DMZZ:

You are doing great. I have been in a bit of a creative lull recently with my characters. Think I got into too many campaigns all at about the same time. Fortunately the most frustrating is about to end, or I will quit. Then I can concentrate on the fun ones like HoR, HoJ, DMHW's, VooDoo's and DM VoV's. In a few others that have very active posters which is always important.

I don't know what to tell you to improve things, but considering that you tend to have a dedicated set of regular posters, you are clearly doing something right.

Or to put it simply. Alles gut.

Tirion Jörðhár wrote:

Oh if only that were the case for me... surprisingly most of my characters have fairly vividly differing personalities. From the absurd (my piss-head halfling pirate in Voodoo's Freeport game), to the serious (my nihilistic Bas'o barbarian) to the strange (my Inquisitor of Milani who seems to be quite chummy with a Cleric of Rovagug in TarkXT's CoT).

For some reason they all seem to end up with filthy pants though.... it is a disturbing pattern...

Which leads to the next question, in TarkTX's CoT, what are you guys looking for as a replacement, I assume a spellcaster of some sort. Any preference, or types that really would not fit in? I am planning on putting something together, just have not had the time to see what all you guys do.
