I'm sure it'll be a blast. I get to take a nap and wake up in pain, but that's OK because they'll give me some pills to take at home that will make me take lots of naps. :D

Seriously though, Freyja's school bus company are douchebags and made it incredibly difficult to have her busing switched to her dad's. So I decided to tough it out with her staying with me and going to school rather than to go to his house and miss a bunch of school, only to come back to my house and miss even more while they put the buses right again. At least she goes full days now. *sigh*

I have to say, the drugs were amazing. That said, I really don't like morpheine at all.

Dilaudid land was fun for nearly a year. The backlash going off of it cold turkey was definitely not.

I usually have a really low tolerance for prescription narcotics (and even some that are technically not narcotic) but I have had morphine in an IV twice in my life and both times I swear it did nothing at all, not for my pain nor to my mind. It did however make me itch, which I hear is common. Novocaine also tends to have a muted effect on me, taking 2-3 times as much to do the job.

The good thing about a general low tolerance is that it takes less to do the job of killing the pain, the bad side is it messes with my head bad and I tend to get nauseated easily while on them. They also tend to knock me out pretty hard.

Dilaudid (though I thought I recalled them calling it something else at the time something closer to dondalin but have been told since that there isn't a drug called that), I think, is what they gave me after the morphine for a few days when I was in the hospital when my back went out. I had to make them cut the dose in half, and give me anti-nausea medicine with it because it was like running face first into a brick wall especially being IV. Instantly my head was swimming and I felt like I was going to vomit. Sadly, cutting the dose in half didn't help this effect much, it just wore off quicker.
