Pathfinders should relish that challenge!

(I'll find out on Friday and let everyone know.)

Edit:
Oooh, I enjoyed posting that far too much.
Seriously though, I hope you all have a good time. Don't know if I can afford to drop by, but my best wishes to you all. :)

I'll be there tomorrow, but my cleric played a game on Monday night (online) for which I don't have the chronicle yet. The chronicle puts her up to 5th and kicks in some latent GM credit from a 5-9 mod, so it makes quite a difference. I know the gold and PA (it was Penumbral Accords), but if I don't get the chronicle tonight how should I handle it?

I'm expecting to play this character in the Bloodcove pair so I can get her up to 7th (eventually) for Paizocon.

Can you get the GM to email me tonight (paizoconuk@hotmail.com)to confirm that you have finished playing the mod and will be receiving a chronicle?

Progress report? :)

Dark Archive 2/5

Lots of fun had at the Expo with Wintergreen et al. Sarkorian Prophecy excellent but how it is supposed to play in a Con slot I have no idea. We didn't finish it until 1.30 am. Slightly bleary eyed for the morning slot. A few games where people didn't turn up to play. In one case I think that it was a complete non show and the DM ended up playing in another game.
Sadly not enough takers for Shades of Ice III in the last slot of the Expo so had to call it off with only two of us looking to play.

Roll on PaizoCon UK :D

We have created 1st level characters according to the Guide to Oraganised Play and will bring these along, but what if the 4 other players turn up with higher level PCs? Could someone fill me in on exactly what goes on and how organised play works in practise?

Thanks

Well I think that was successful!
Got to meet some old friends and make new ones. Had a fantastic time - managed to run 5 games. We had lots of players eager for Pathfinder adventures.
A particularly big thank you to all of you who GMed. I really appreciate it and all the feedback has been that you were excellent!

PFS at EXPO

I played one, and ran five PFS mods

I think I really hit my GM-PFS groove as all 5 i ran where both excellent to GM , with very good tables, and where well received by players all round (I think!)

I ran all five at a good pace, and threw in, and encouraged lots of narration if you have explained some good plan, bluff, streetwise, etc i ain’t gonna make you roll the DC 10 skill check it needs. This kept the games flowing really well, and keep attention and action levels high, even with younglings

I ran mods at 4/5, 6/7 and then three at 1-2 with new starters as agreed with venture captain and other GMS

I had no PC deaths though

-had 3+ unconscious at several points throughout the con

-one mod they used 49 charges of a CLW wand (that is ~ 250 hp healed in a 4-5), before they had even met the final encounter (whom they trounced and he never got a go!!)

All my games took just under 3 hours, and thats with lots player narrative, and ensuring everyone got lots spotlight time and one of the mods being rebels ransom. This leaves plenty time for paperwork and post-game discussion, time for meal break etc

Met lots of:

Living old boys

8 or so players new to PF or PFS or both

Some very entertaining players in the 8-13 age range (i think)

GMed to a cavalier, alchemist and magus for the first time

Every table I ran with was chock with very good participants

Shades 1 to 3 arent brilliant on paper, but all three ran great.

Someone said ‘can I use intimidating cheese from UM’ and after a quick table discussion we decided to ban it.

All round PFS joy. Thanks to dave for the one game I played, and the raft of great players I met and had entertaining games with, too many interesting 'PCs to name'

Thanks also to expo folk for their very generous GM reward system.

Will definitely be back there next year

A great family friendly CON once more. We took a detour from East Kent via Legoland, Stonhenge to arrive Thursday evening.
I was up to GM Friday morning. What I learned as GM - get your slots in early or you don't have players. With only one player I checked the game Russ was gming. He had three players and one realized only at the table he had played Deliriums Tangle.
So instead of Delirims Tangle and Penumbral Accord tier 1-2 we ended up with a spontaneous Heresy of Man Part 1 as only game nobody had played and one of the gms could do on the spot. Thanks Russ for letting me GM and take your players.
I was in horror when I hard the group - Druid with T-Rex, Druid with Mule, Eidolon. If you played it you will know Act 1. Actually it went perfect thanks to som great magic. The other memorable incident - one playe went down from full health to negative in one go. We talk here the Paladin tank.
Next slot was gaming for the whole family. For Philip it was his second year. He played Shades of Ice with my wife. Laura had her very fist outing and I was afraid of it ahead - I shouldn't have been. True - we struggled in Fallen Fortress - but it asnt her fault.
The evening and I was missing players. So early retirement to the hotel.
Next morning it was shades of ice part 2 for Philip and my wife while I looked after Laura. She as disappointed not t play - so I got her a slot in h afternoon n my table. Penumbral Accod.
It went pretty well.
In the vening - one player shows up for Sniper. I run arond a lot - none shows up despite there should be more. So I get a place on Daves table for Dalsine affair - with player 2 showing up just as I sit down.
We are five mnutes late already. He finds a place in a non PFS game - Same as th first player.
Twent past start and player three Shows up.
Hmm - apparently I

Hmm - apparently I

got interrupted here and wanted to ensure I don't loose the post on my iPhone. The plan was to edit it once home ...

Yes - apparently I should have been told he was coming - sorry - my brain must have been elsewhere.

So I ended up playing my Sarenrae cleric in the Dalsine Affair. Very much fitting - and I think a good addition to the group. Nearly got myself killed when I stabilized against the big bad evil in the final fight at -4 but still had a Shield Other up and running with one of the few in the group still standing ...

Sunday I would have loved to join the high level game with Theodum to add to the table - alas - one of us had to look after the kids. They enjpyed themselves a lot on non PFS games and my daughter was 'hanging out' with the Doctor Who crew outside the Tardis (no - not the original actors - but she is young enough not to care).

My wife managed to finish the last part of Shades of Ice and overall a great CON - especially if you go there with children. I did see some children on most tables during the day and didn't hear any complaints.

And on my table I even had to stop the old time experienced player and GM from preventing the 8 year old in her fourth game to finish the objective of the scenario. She was the only one who had the idea how to shut down the Penumbral Accord while the more experienced player was 'afraid something could happen' - so tried to tell her in fatherly tone better not to do what she had planned.

We will be back next year. And the children will be gaming again.

Definitely a child-friendly con.
I felt that the kids playing at my tables really added to the games and had no complaints about them.
I was very impressed with your son, Thod. Particularly in the final part of Shades of Ice. (I feel that I should add something to his chronicle sheet on that one about the friend he made!)

+1 to this

the younglings in Shades Ice I i played in, and ran the next day added much mirth and new thinking to the game

Yes folks that was me....been playing this game too long and my player paranoia about gems in statues/pyramids/obelisks set in..a hearty well done to Lulu for solving the problem..it was fun seeing the game through an 8 year olds eyes.

I'd also like to add my congratulations and well done to all our players as on the Saturday night I was told by the organisers that some of the other tables had complained that the Pathfinder tables are too noisy! So well done and thank you all for your enthusiasm! :)

4/5 **** Venture-Lieutenant, United Kingdom—England—Kent

I had a great time at the convention and would like to thank the Pathfinder Team for organising another excellent crop of games. I was worried about how the pre-booking would work and it seems there were a few problems along the way but everyone coped and the feedback seems positive. It would be nice to see a dedicated Pathfinder room at expo next year and that might allow players to buy tickets for a slot rather than a scenario, giving more flexibility when matching characters and scenarios. Just a thought.

The Exchange

as one of those new to both PF and the PFS at the expo, just wanted to say how much fun both myself and my friends had, so much so that we plan to start our own homegroup for PFS.

Welcome !!

This is the best feedback you can hope for as GM or organizer. Dave can be proud how the UK PFS is developing.
