If anyone's interested, someone did a homebrew of variant 3.5 half-dragons that they could use and adapt to PF.
I really wish he'd take that down. I created that originally in August of 2002 after getting the Monster Manual and not liking their template. I mean really one set of stats for ten different half-dragon races? No thank you. I expanded upon it to over 40 different types when I finally let it go after discovering the joys of Pathfinder. Linked below are my templates.

If you ever need any help on grunt work let me knowI like the class levels for monsters idea. It lets you play the monster and is still fair in comparison to those that want to be "normal" races.
Thanks for the write-ups. I am going to have to import the vampire as a class for Hero Lab; that is something that needs to be done for all of the races eventually.
I managed to get started on the class. This is the first time that I will have made a class. I am relatively new to Pathfinder (started playing in June), but I have used Hero Lab for Savage Worlds and Mutants and Masterminds. There are differences between the game systems, but overall there is a basic framework that is used throughout the different systems.
I cannot promise success, and I am currently stumped on adding Dark Vision if you happen to have a race that already has it (I would want it to stack). Otherwise as I can make time I will keep plugging at it. Mind you, I have obligations that limit my time, and this next week should be a very busy one.
A cool thing about it being a class is that you can have an Archetype for it to show variations in bloodlines. You could play Vampire: the Masquerade in Pathfinder. :)

Another mention is the werebear. It's 8d8. Pathfinder has most bears stated at 5d8. However, a dire bear is 10d8. The dire creature template has the additional information needed. At 10d8, they should be able to hit huge size. At 5d8, that's when the regular werebear should be able to hit large. The nice part about the additional stats is that this will help alleviate the +1 Dex that's on there twice.

Expanded Half-Dragon Template (D&D 3.x)
Bookmarked.
EDIT: I guess my only real question is, why does the White half-dragon (on the Pathfinder page) not have much in the way of ability score bonuses?

![]() |

I don't see how it is being made weaker.
We must be looking at the wrong pages because the Pathfinder half-dragons on this page all have substantially higher ability score adjustments compared to the white dragon. The base half-dragon gets Str +8, Con +6, Int +2, Cha +2. The white half-dragon on the page has Str +4, Con +2, Wis +2. All the others have significantly higher, or at least have all the standard ability scores called for. Compared to the other dragons, it's the only one with +5 natural armor. All the others are higher. For +3 CR, my money would be on all the others. The white half-dragon would be CR +2 by comparison.

lol A little much for your taste? Surely you could come up with characters that constantly take on a CR 55+ challenge.

Here is a quick update with a few added in...my devil/demon push is still very sloppy so I will add that update in a few days.
That's alright. I won't be in desperate need for it until probably November when the PCs learn of their true devilish heritage.
BTW, the Mighty template. It's +5 CR, but how many levels do you think it's truly worth? I was thinking probably 8.
EDIT: Don't forget to update the wererat.

Yeah, updated wererat first thing after I posted v17. lol Never looked at the mighty template, just quickly looking at it definitely lowest I'd go is 8 levels, but with +10 to BaB, DR, SR roughly d10 HD - I'd say 8-10 levels would fit.

Half-Dragon, Half-Fiend, Three normal humans.
Ability scores were generated by selecting a number of d6 out of a pool of twenty and rolling in order. The half-fiend can't even wear armor...
Lowest stat is an 8 and the next us a 13. Nothing lower, plenty higher.
Oh, Mighty template, I live you already. <3

Ah, fair enough. The only problem would be the HD. It doesn't turn you into anything. It's whatever you are. So I guess standard d10 for the +10 attack.

A cleric in the game I'm playing in has two levels of it so far. He's really enjoying it.

How many levels did you break it into? After looking at it a bit, was thinking maybe 5 or 6 levels. Even though its CR2...2 levels seems a bit light for the bonuses it gives. And I'd probably limit it to characters only of animal, magical beast, or monstrous humanoid and not allow it for others.

Zerzix, sure you're incredibly busy with getting the next edition out, but a player was hoping to see a breakdown of the Handmaiden Devil, if it's not too much trouble.

Doh! Just saw this...I'll get it posted tomorrow evening after I get back in town. =)

Cool. No rush though.

Hey hey, had held off a bit as I looked for art for a few other devils and demons. Sooo many variations of each 'race' that's its hard to get a good clean pic of each. Still really haven't found a nice one for handmaiden yet.
If you could get ahold of Book 5 of Way of the Wicked, there's one in there.

Let me preface this by saying it is probably a total noob post. I've been following Zerzix's Bestiary Levels with a bit of interest and have Savage Species in hardcover. But, I never actually used SS, just flipped through it a lot. I really, really dig the idea of using 'Monsters' as PCs sans Class.
OK, then, on with the noob question. Has anyone found a way to square the Race Builder of The Advanced Races Guide with a(n) Experience/Level progression. For example, you build a Race with 28 points and then acquire points beyond the basic 10 Race Points as you level up your dude.
Also, I really liked the Awakened Constructs of SS. It would be cool to see those converted in your Bestiary Levels too.
Thanks Zerzix for the cool stuff, it tingles my imagination whenever I look at your PDF. Very excited to see where this project goes.
