Spontaneous casting Magus

I just wanted to toss a quick thought out there.

I like the Magus. I was thinking of doing a spontaneous casting magus.

How does this sound:
Spell casting and magic pool off of charisma.
Keep the same Spells Per Day of a Magus.
Add a Spells Known. Same as Bard / Inquisitor.
The spells are drawn from the Magus spell list.

What do you think?

Sounds perfectly reasonable. I would, however, remove Pool Spell or make sure that it can only be used to cast spells already known. Otherwise it gets too powerful.

I could work very well, of course. However, I was really excited when the Magus was introduced as a prepared caster. In 3.5, there was heavy favoritism towards spontaneous casters. I was happy to see classes like the Witch and the Magus in PF.

Now, the Magus is kind of a prepared/spontaneous hybrid. Something I've never seen before. I'm even more exited about the uniqueness of the Magus.
I would be sad if the Magus was changed to merely another 3/4 spontaneous fighter/mage.

I agree that you'll need to play with Pool Spell a bit. I'd probably say remove it and move Knowledge Pool to 5th level for some more flexibility and to make up for the loss.

thanks for your suggestions, perhaps i havn't grapsed the spell pool yet

I'm playing a Paladin/Sorcerer/Eldritch Knight in a campaign right now. Forget the "he's not as good as" this and the "he's not as good as that", and just enjoy the heck out of it.
