2 people marked this as a favorite.

Good morning! I had yogurt and jello and bread soaked in broth yesterday. Huzzah! Oatmeal today, and maybe I can stay on my feet long enough to do some housecleaning.

I hope the rest of you are as happy as I am right now. <3

Welcome back Aeglos.

And stay on those feet Treppa!

Silver Crusade

Hello, all. What did I miss?

Silver Crusade

Glad to hear you are feeling a little better, Treppa.

*sigh* had to go in to work today (hour drive), but remembered I needed to go to the post office before noon which was a zoo, only to return to find the gate is locked and the opener is in my office. Now waiting for someone to come and let me in.
And he just arrived.

An apple looks on. It wants me to eat it...

All projects going smoothly, GURPS game cleared with a most badass finisher to the final boss, shooting down a helicopter.

I even got more stuff done for my campaign world. Now I just need to work out the nations and cities, then move towards the plot of it.

What kind of GURPS game it is? Special Ops? Black Ops? Horror? Military? Other?

Rambo-inspired mercenary group hunting down a few targets who happen to be terrorists, with a good reward for it.

My character is a sniper originally born in Finland who moved to the US later in life. He's an albino with pale hair and eyes.

He's somewhat sociopathic and drinks a lot at times, but his IQ was higher than anyone else's and he also loved crossword puzzles.

Howdy FAWTLY Folk! Had a hell of a day yesterday. Our local bud we're working with picked up me and the contractors at 0830 to go down to his boat. Spent most of the morning on the water, going around the 99 Islands.

After that we went up the mountain to Saikai National Park to get a great view of the entire city of Sasebo and the bay.

Then we stopped by Saikai Bridge, which crosses a channel connecting two bays. When the tides go in and out, there are these massive whirlpools that form in the channel. It was cool. There's also play areas with all kinds of outoor stuff - mostly for kids, but adults can have some fun as well.

Last night we all hooked up for dinner, then went bar hopping. That was a blast as well. I'm still recovering.

Hungover zombie is hungover.

Oh yeah, I ate cow tongue. They didn't tell me what it was until after I had eaten it.

No problem, sorry for all the delays.

Apart from the cow tongue, how has the food been, zombeh?

For that matter, how was the cow tongue?

To make you proud, I got something like 48 points for playing "zombies" in Words With Friends. I thought of you.

Sadly, last night was first chance I've had to step off base and experience the local cuisine. But it was worth the wait. The food was excellent.

The cow tongue was good. It basically comes raw (with a bit of seasoning) and you grill it up at the table. There are sauces you can dip it in as well. It was a bit chewy, I thought, but good enough.

We also some regular beef, chicken, and (I think) pork. There were a bunch of different veggies you could choose from to grill as well.

I'm going to try and meet my contractors again tonight for dinner. There's a place the lead guy mentioned with various meats and poultry on skewers that he wants to try.

As for your Words with Friends score - GO UNDEAD HORDE!!!

Scarab Sages

I've basically never been disappointed in the food here in Japan.

Hi eveyone

cow tongue is concidered a delicacy by the older generation in Germany, cows udder, pigs snout and ears are as well,

the Austrians, esp. in Vienna are very fond of pigs and cows brains

Me, I don't like all of it, not even liver (with the exception of Liver Wurst)

The one time I had cow tongue, it was delicious - tender and very fine-grained beef fixed in an interesting wine sauce.

Finished last book from the library I had in home... And it's Sunday... What to read, what to read? :(

Great Morning North and South American FaWtLies and Great Afternoon European FaWtLies and Good Evening AZ!

Speaking of which - AZ you need to recruit some far east FaWtLies while you are there. Aside from our friends down under, that part of the world is seriously under represented.

Had glögg and pepparkaka (gingerbread cookies) with the parents. Feeling kinda drowsy now.

Silver Crusade

Glögg sounds like a horrible dwarven beverage.

Well, beverage was correct. ;)

Celestial Healer wrote:

called Glühwein (glowing wine) here in Germany

Gingerbread cookies... :(

Eat the dinner now or do it later? I'll be out of food until tomorrow (tomorrow's dinner portion set aside for "no consumption until tomorrow evening" under the threat of not having dinner tomorrow).

Short and sweet once more folk. Gotta go get ready to face the day. And, if all goes well, I'll be able to Facetime with the wife and boy. The RSO's office where I have a temp desk has a wifi signal. So last week I made use of it to do Facetime and speak with wife and Charlie. Ain't technology awesome?

I am starting to have a mild headache... Will tomorrow or day after tomorrow see a weather change? Hopefully it won't be rain, I don't have money to pay for bus ticket to get to Dark Heresy session in the evening...

Liberty's Edge

Just woke up from two hours of an unexpected nap, with horrible vertigo. What the f#&% just happened?
