Well, the good news is I won't be without internet for nearly a month waiting for AT&T to install uverse - I'm going with direct tv instead. Yay! I will have BBC America! Well, the tv is direct tv. They have an agreement with at&t for internet, but through direct TV, I can get the internet installed on Friday. Instead of three weeks from now. O.o

I don't know why it works that way. But whatever.

3. Work boring.
4. Will I get paid on time this week?

Don't look at me. I'm bare here these days. Too much grooming... :(

Overgrooming can lead to baldness. Don't fret, your feathers will grow back. You'll likely grow feathers in your ears though.

Zany.

Witty.

<----total culture shock

Free flowing traffic? wtf?

People driving safely. Using signal lights. Whoa.

The streets seem empty. The grovery store isles are like HUGE. You don't have to push people out of the way to get what you want! It's amazing.

Why the f+#! did I ever leave?

After seeing armed guards everywhere for 4 months (we had two checkpoints to get into out condo in Manila)...

After seeing cops everywhere daily in China.

I didn't see a single cop yesterday in Vancouver.

Just f#@!ing slabbergastered.

Wow. That is rough.

Taig, you took the words right out of my mouth. Mairkurion, thank you for sharing this with me. It lets me know I'm not alone.

Finally slept about seven hours last night. Its time shower, breakfast, and another visit to ICU. They brought him out of his thaw last night so I want to see how he's doing.

Day 2 after a short staycation. Got caught up on my dbase work yesterday. Found a new glitch in the new software today that stops my preparation for a 9/1 abandonment of the old system. I'm dead in the water until someone fixes this. Argh!

I hope everyone has a better week!!!! We are done traveling finally. We went to see my wife's family last weekend, and my family this weekend. Jude figured out how to crawl up stairs.

Also, don't forget: Everyone understands you when you speak to yourself in English.

I got in the very bad habit of externalizing my internal monologue after two years in Japan, since nobody could understand me...then I got back to the States...

Happy 90th Birthday grandma! Staying awake for 29 hours so I could attend the festivities did get a bit tired (ha!) by the end, but here's hoping you do get to live long enough to see your 103rd like you always say you will.

And with that said, tea, then bed!

Goodnight Ougadougo!

Been through this. I live up in Allentown, work in Cherry Hill. And yes, one Friday we're going to go get a beer. ;)

today is a sad, sad day here in germany
our greatest and most beloved comedian: Loriot passed away at the age of 87.
He was the master of fine, observing everyday-humour, the master of sharp political (but always neutral) sketches, the master of funny cartoons, of ridiculous costumes, silly slapstick, intelligent social commenary.....
shortly said the best

his importance for german humour can only be compared to Motny Python.

I don't think he translates good to english but here are examples of his work:
Grocery Shopping
Airport security
Fire fighting

German humorist Vicco von Buelow, often cited by Germans as proof of their sense of humor.

I will have to watch when I get home.
