My memory of Baldur's gate may be rather faded - but I know one flaw about computer RPGs(Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights) is that generally when you gain alignment in good, you gain it in law as well. For some reason those two seem to go together, likewise chaos and evil.

So worked on it for like 6 hours but got Baldur's Gate 2 to work, I shouldn't leave such a fan favorite unplayed. Any advice for someone just beginning the game for the first time?
mod the hell out of it. Gibberlings is the best place to go. Make sure you BRING (censored) BACK, I NEVER liked the storyline where you got with (censored) that seemed INCREDIBLY gross considering the previous game and what happened in the beginning of the first one, and I also thought that the unmodded relationship with (censored) was a very big "remember kids, sex is bad!" trope,and the mod made it a bit more realistic.

Finished Strange Aeons Book 2 prep.
Weird quirk of mine - maybe there wasn't much chocolate liquor in the bottle - but I didn't feel much today after drinking it all - its like I have the ability to ignore the effects of alcohol on my system if I'm doing something that needs concentration(like map prep).

When I play through the game and find out your censored references I shall chat with you about it!
Seeing how it's about in game relationships I'll likely agree though, judging from later Bioware RPGs even the sex positive ones are a little weird, especially with turning romantic relationships into just a long seduction that ends with making love then is pretty much over lol.
The philosophical underpinnings of fictional relationships is a favorite topic to me, though in video games they are usually either woefully incomplete or kinda lame.
That's ok though, not every game can be ff10.

I am rapidly learning that Steam is a guarantee of disappointment for me:

There was an eternal expectation that I would know what the heck I was doing, I got frustrated, and I stopped playing. Not Stardew Valley's fault, but I have to list it because I'm listing my ENTIRE Steam library here.
Seriously, Ubisoft? You haven't read anything about how much players love losing player agency?
So, how is it that Devil May Cry 5 is listed as one of the top-rated multiplayer games on Steam and elsewhere, yet in the words of one reviewer, "Devil May Cry 5 has a multiplayer mode that lets players make guest appearances in each other's games...the company said Devil May Cry 5 is "primarily" a single-player experience, but wanted to have the three protagonists run into each other and work together from time to time."
So, no, it is NOT a multiplayer game in any sense of the word. GothBard, Shiro, and I played for an hour while we were online together and never once had the chance to interact. Even worse, the game simply makes the assumption that you are an octopus who owns a Steam controller. Move #3 or #4 in the game was, "Hit this key on the keyboard, then do this joystick move, then hit this other key on the keyboard."
Any game where THAT is one of the most basic moves is NOT a game for me.
And yeah, the overwhelming, insufferable, "We're SO cool you have to love us" of ALL the characters was, well, insufferable. In under an hour of play, I wanted the bad guys to win and all the protagonists to die because I hated them so much.
Not so great.
So my first refund request ever from Steam. Usually if I buy a game and I hate it, I figure it's my own fault for not researching it. But when multiple sites say, "This is a great multiplayer game for up to 3 players" and it really ISN'T, I feel justified in demanding a refund.
And that's what's truly striking to me: Other games I've purchased from other vendors, from Diablo III from Blizzard to Rift from Trion to Final Fantasy XIV from Square Enix I've played for dozens of hours.
Not a single game I've ever bought on Steam has even made the 24-hour mark.
Steam and I apparently just don't get along.

I still think about Wakka's story sometimes, it did a good job of showing how there can be good hearted racists when it is simply born of ignorance,that scene where the party is on a boat and Wakka's talking shit about Al Bhed while Rikku and Yuna sit quietly nearby felt super realistic and his growth over the game was cool.
His loss of faith too, while not the focus of the game, really made me feel the sting of loss for him and made me realize that even in the real world the loss of faith can be one of the most devastating feelings.

Left 4 Dead: Paid $19.99. Played 2 hours. Just not my cup of tea. I like neither FPSes or zombie apocalypse games, but we were trying to find a new multiplayer game.
Stardew Valley: Paid $14.99. Played 3 hours. OK. I'll cut Stardew Valley some slack: It is exactly the kind of game I should love playing. The problem is, Shiro and GothBard had put in over 100 hours each before I started playing with them, so my entire experience was, "C'mon! Let's go do xxx!"

Regarding Devil May Cry I actually find the main characters self involvement endearing because they are just so stupid. Apparently I find it funny when dumbasses think they are awesome, lol.

I dunno I kinda think Lulu is a hard to deal with person as well. She basically criticizes Wakka nonstop and that's when she isn't being cold.
Edit: Basically the only person she supports is Yuna, other than that she tends to be pretty condescending.
Edit 2: Though yes, I realize she wears a fetish outfit and her chest is so big after battle she leans forward like her back is killing her =p

Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition - 192 Hours (and that's just since the beginning of the year; if I were to add in the years upon years I played NWN basic...).
Audiosurf - 141 hours. (Plus 2 more hours in Audiosurf 2.)
Final Fantasy 6 - 96 hours.
Axiom Verge - 71 hours.
Sam and Max - 47.5 hours across all three seasons of six games apiece.
Psychonauts - 22 hours.
Temtem (Alpha) - 21 hours.
20XX - 37 hours.
Undertale - 13 hours.
Beat Hazard - 10 hours.
Ys: Oath in Felghana - 9 hours.
Castle Crashers - 9 hours.
Battleblock Theatre - 9 hours.
VVVVVV - 6 hours.
Shovel Knight - 3 hours.
Bastion - 3 hours.
Rosenkreuzstilette - 2 hours.
Yooka-Laylee - 2 hours.
Almost all 2D platformers, JRPGs, Metroidvanias, Megamanalikes, or SHMUPs. AKA all the genres I most strongly identify with and enjoy. So I've been pretty happy with most of my purchases or gifts.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is pretty boring and I've murdered too many sheep as it is.
There's only so many crashes in GTA 5, I can't be expected to go on missions can I.
Fallout 4 plateaus pretty quickly.
Same with Skyrim.
Mass Effect Andromeda is, well, Mass Effect Andromeda.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 is Mass Effect Andromeda with fun parts added (anything involving a Jedi Rampage, good or evil, and space ship combat).

Spellcasters are monstrous at higher levels; cleric/fighters are especially good, as they can wander around in full plate, bash people pretty effectively, and heal like mad.
You *will* need a thief. More than one, just for safety's sake, if you like; a thief and a bard is a nice combo, too.
Some spells you will definitely need:
Resist Fear
Chaotic Commands
Negative Plane Protection (plenty of those...)
Death Ward
Slow Poison
Anything (else) that protects against charm/domination.
Missile weapons can really give an (unprotected) mage a hard time, especially if they're poisoned.
Poisoned weapons are nasty overall. This can work against you, of course, but also in your favour.

GothBard started on 5 and LOVED it, but HATED the stupid story and horrible ending. But she loved the gameplay enough to forgive it.
And yes, she and Shiro already did New Dawn twice on regular and are working their way through it on its hardest setting. But they wanted me to play with them (hence the abortive attempt at Devil May Cry 5), so amusingly enough right now we're playing our way through Diablo III (which neither GothBard nor I ever finished).

They might not have bothered you in the past, but they will soon. All those bright white faces with giant grease paint smiles laughing as they approach you, honking their horns. Enormous shoes flapping on the floor like duck feet. The cold, soulless eyes promising that, despite the fact they are laughing on the outside, they desire nothing more than to strangle you with cotton candy ropes and then feast upon your tender vittles. Your skin destined to be dyed with bright, alluring colors and sewn into their patchwork clothing. Your hair and beard turned into big poofy wigs. Your intestines inflated and twisted into animal shapes like weird splotchy balloons.

Yelp still good. Their was a thing during a Halloween awhile back that had clowns going out and trying to scare people and some of them trying to hurt people. Apparently people dressed as batman started beating them up and that stopped. (This is a true story I promise google it.)
Yeah I know their was a guy in the UK he looked spot on like batman too.
