I wasn't home when Tigger broke her spine. She was too far gone by the time I got home from work. I stayed up with her as long as I could and let her know that I loved her. My cat, whom I raised from a kitten, was dead by morning.

Figured out my cable TV business. The $4 is for upgrading to Fibre optic. They'll give me channels I don't watch but that can't be helped. They're phasing out support for the old system so Fibre optic upgrade is necessary. For installation of internet they are just sticking in one extra cable onto the existing Fibre optic box and they told me each house can support a maximum of 2, so it won't affect existing services.

I'm sorry about your cat.
And Orthos dog, but you know cats and dogs... Don't get along that well ><
And there was the dire wolf incident...

Once again, at game tonight I managed to make everyone stop and stare at me like I'm an idiot. We were exploring a cave system, and were out of healing (apart from a couple of potions of Cure Light Wounds). I suggested that maybe one person try to stealth ahead and see if there was anything dangerous ahead. The rogue was hesitant because he was at half health (which, since we're only 2nd level means 1 good hit and he's out), so the ranger was ready to go. He handed me his everburning torch and started to go forward when I stopped him. I suggested that I go since I have a bit of stealth and darkvision, whereas he had low-light vision. He agreed that would be a better idea, so he stepped back. The thing is, when he said he was giving me his torch, he mimed it, so I was holding an imaginary torch in my hand. I waited a few seconds to see if he would take it back, but he didn't, so I mimed putting the lit end in my mouth. This made everyone pause for a bit, then start laughing. We decided it was actually a good plan since all I had to do to alert the rest of the party was spit it out, they would see the light and come running. So, once again, I proved that my stupid ideas aren't always stupid.

I think that the other players at game think I'm really weird. Tonight we fought three darkmantles. They killed two of them, while I knocked the third one out with nonlethal damage. Then, instead of letting them kill it, I asked the ranger to jerryrig a sack out of the two dead ones so we could carry the living one. Then we fought 6 chokers (4 juveniles, the momma, and the daddy). I wanted to capture one of the little ones, but the others killed them first. Then they killed the momma. But I was able to knock out the daddy. Again, I stopped them from killing it, and then used the bodies of his family to tie him up (we didn't have any rope). So I'm establishing a pattern of keeping one of a group alive, and then using it's friends to secure it. This disturbs the other players for some reason.

Nope. My character is a monk based on Macho Man Randy Savage. I was taking them alive because I was grappling them into a "Sleeper Hold", and we are part of a colony that includes people who might want to study/talk to the critters. And they are less worried about taking them alive than they are that I'm tying them up with their dead comrades.

I had a bad week at work. It is may 4th. So i drank 4 beers and watched rogue one.
I am not drunk. I am going to game and watch aggretsuko and have a sapporo black while I do so.
I like the sound of Sapporo black.
Sorry to hear about Orthos' doggo and John's moggo.
Last night ALL (DE) and I went to see Kamasi Washington, and it was super fab, apart from the fact that I drank Pabst Blue Ribbon.
Now off to another test cutting do, with a rucksack full of blades and empty milk bottles. There will also be knife and axe throwing, and it's a lovely sunny day.

Our old dog has stopped eating, stopped barking, and stopped taking his medicine. ;_; I think we're coming up on the end.
*Draws in both Orthos and old doggo in a loving embrace*
My your and parents love guide you to the right decision.
Whatever the outcome, may your loving memories of the dog stay with you for as long as possible.
I had a relaxed week at work but a not so good one at home. My cable TV supplier offered to give me another fiber optic line at home for free for 2 years if I continue with cable TV(which I will since I want to watch Animal Planet) and my mom has been complaining that since the current Fibre optic internet is under my brother's name what's going to happen if it breaks down, etc.
Well if someone's giving me a new internet line, which he claims that can coexist with my current one, for free, who am I to say no to backup internet lines in case our current one fails.
Then my mom starts asking me, why did you have to accept their internet line, what happens if it clashes with our existing one...
Look, you complain there's a problem then when I come up with a solution, you complain some more. What am I supposed to do about that?
?
!
Kitty is being pragmatic and sensible, and mommy-cat is being a worrywart (which I can kind of understand...I'm one too for different reasons).
Still your trying to help out, and that should really be what counts here.
*Fluffs and hug Mort for good measure*

Huh...
Suddenly I feel a strange connection.*Dusts off the character sheet of his tetori "Gregori - The Giant - Von Slater"*
Maybe it time for tag-team match :P

Running away from your problems only helps if your problem is being overweight.
Now this is just not true. Running away is a great solution to many problems!

I could go on! Remember, you don’t have to be faster than what’s chasing you, just faster than the one you’re with! ;P

So in unrelated news.
I got my first ticket of the year.
Light speeding (between 10-20% above the speed limit) and using a dedicated biking lane, on a scooter mind you.
= 1000 kr, roughly 160$ (though I was dreading that it might have been about twice as much...being in a low income bracket actually helps a lot here).
Still, I might be needing a glass of wine or similar drink when I get back home.

Have I mentioned how much I hate hotels and tipping? I can deal with restaurants and their 15-18%, but at a hotel there are no rules that I can tell!
The valet manager, who did nothing more than tell me where to stop and call a valet and a bellhop for me, got $10 and looked like he was going to crumple it up and throw it on the ground.
I've been told that bell hops get $1 per bag, but when I gave him $10 for 8 bags he looked at me like I'd spat on his grandmother's grave.
Know what $10 is better than? NOTHING! Which is rapidly becoming what I feel like tipping...

Snotty employees that feel that they're entitled to an arm, a leg, and the soul of your firstborn for doing nothing? They should be glad they even have a job.

Up here its a "the land tipping forgot" kind of deal.
There's no official tipping-culture as you are paid a higher wage, lessening the necessity of tips. You can kind of say that the tips where done away with, in exchange for a industry wide raising of the base wage. (restauration workers rejoice!).There's is a distinct downside to this however, and that is that good service isn't mandatory (ie your dependant on being on better behaviour to get more tips) but very much optional. I mean, standart decorum is still in function, but don't expect your waiter to be smiling, making pleasant small talk or be in a particular hurry to get to you. They are hired to do a job, and being a pleasant host isn't necessarily part of it!
Really it often isn't that bad, but you should expect a marked difference. People aren't rude, they are just more...indifferent of you and your enjoyment/needs.
