yes well Kalifornia is soon to be crushed into mountains. Most of the people will fall into the sea when it happens. Except a lot of women in Beverly Hills. They thought ahead and installed personal flotation devices.

What is WRONG with me? I meet a great girl, we have a ton in common and I feel great being with her and hanging out with her. But the scar tissue from previous relationships keeps her at arm's length. Seriously? WTF???

Needed to get that out.

Dunno. But I have a question of my own: Every time I see William Shatner these days, his eyes are all watery. Does he have a medical condition, or is he back on the sauce?

Cool, I guess; I love Daggerdale. Is it based on 4E or what? I suppose it's neither here nor there because I don't like video games.

Yes it is a "based on 4th edition" but it seems that it is a watered down version, sort of just the "essentials". Looks cool anyway.

Edit: or so I have read. The truth may be quite different.

I'm pretty sure I was just trolling. Stormreach did not fully meet expectations, so I'm kinda put off Atari D&D games. Just saw it today, and was wondering if anyone had thoughts.

I'm also less thrilled with Sesame Street since they changed their focus from general education (reading, writing, arithmetic, etc.) to life skills (be nice, share, etc.). That, and apparently cookies are "bad" since Cookie Monster doesn't eat cookies anymore.

To be fair, the life skills stuff was always there. Also, I found that invaluable. I would often use episodes of Sesame Street to help Bryce understand social concepts. Things like illustrating emotions and explaining social rules like sharing or taking turns. I liked how they would come out and explain it.
I don't mind that -- just not at the exclusion of the other. The counting pinball machine was brilliant and is no longer done. There is a significant lack of quality educational programming for that target audience. I have a boxed DVD set of the old Electric Company and two "Old School" Sesame Street DVD sets. My 5-year-old likes those just as much (if not more) than the current ones. While part of me feels like I'm shaking my cane while talking about this -- they just don't make programming like they used to. ;-)

Regarding Sesame Street and the Wiggles.

I quite like Elmo. I wouldn’t say Sesame Street has become ‘Elmo Street’; Elmo doesn’t feature in all episodes and when he does it is fairly balanced. Cookie Monster still eats cookies (though just as often he eats other things that somehow ‘remind’ him of cookies). There is still quite a lot of focus on letters and numbers, as well as words and grammar (I don’t know, maybe we get very old eps here in Australia? But they seem up to date ... I saw the Katy Perry one the other day).

The Wiggles can be a bit annoying (especially the ‘support’ characters like the dinosaur and the pirate) but those guys (the original 4 wiggles) are really talented musicians and very knowledgeable about music in general. Watching the Wiggles can really give your kid a love of music and dance.

Since I only pop in here about every two or three days or so lately, and I have an average of 500 posts or so to catch up on each time, it seems to be moving pretty fast to me!

You said it...

slow in here today

My life suffocates
Planting seeds of hate
I've loved, turned to hate
Trapped far beyond my fate

I give, you take

This life that I forsake

Been cheated of my youth
You turned this lie to truth

Anger
Misery
You'll suffer unto me

Harvester of sorrow
Language of the mad
Harvester of sorrow

hm, angry lyrics, I don't feel very angry at the moment, but what a great song

Yep, went thru that last week. Sad that people will make the time for funerals but are too busy to make time in day to day. I need to kick myself into gear on that front.
