A couple questions about the smoke/choking/poison bombs the ninja gets...
1) If the ninja throws the choking bomb into a square it occupies, does the ninja have to save as well? Im guessing yet, but just wanting to make sure.
2) Does the ninja just GET these after taking the trick, or do you have to purchase them? Cause, if ive got to buy them AFTER taking a trick, then to heck with that.

My understanding is that with the ability the ninja is assume to have the smoke bombs (the poison for use with poison bomb must be purchased).
My issue with this is, I hate class features that simulate gear. Shouldnt anyone be able to thrown down a smoke bomb if they buy one at a store? Can the ninja give his smoke bombs to a friend to use? Why not? Its supposed to be a physical item. Atleast with the alchemist they come up with somekind of in-game explaination as to why the alchemist cant pass his bombs out.

I noticed this too. I assumed that since use (at least in part) Ki, ninja emanates these bombs as magical tricks or powers (for an example of this, take a look at Taki in Soul Calibur II).
But.. in this case, it should be pointed out bombs are magic.
IF bombs are not magic, it should be at least pointed out something about how ninjas create them, in a way similar to alchemysts.
Otherwise, my willing suspension of disbelief will be beaten hard. ;)

The bombs are extraordinary abilities, so no magic's used & apparently the ninja just pulls them out of their batman utility belt, much like what the gunslinger does with that "Secret Stash" feat does.
Great! So what about a naked ninja?
Seriously, this is gamism at its purest and should be IMHO addressed.

I LOVE the bombs. Simply, they need an explaination (how the ninja makes them?).
I'm totally fine with an (Ex) explaination (you can do them only with a reagent bag) or a (Su) explaination (you create them as expansion of Ki).
But in the current way it is just handwave the creation.

I'm all for the supernatural approach: that's the ninja's schtick, anyway. Make the ninja scrape some dust off the ground, charge it with ki, and then toss it as a bomb. Having a class that pulls actual items out of nowhere causes logical problems, and seriously harms verisimilitude. At least require a magical explanation for a magical ability.

My take on abilities like the bomb is that they can't just walk into a store and buy them. They know how to make them. It's not common knowledge at all.

If drug smugglers can hide drugs in their butt or plastic baggies in their stomach and vomit them up, then cant ninja puke/poop out a smoke bomb?
gives new meaning to "dropped the bomb" huh?
Guess I'm the only 1 here who saw that picture that explained batman's utility belt as him little pulling things from his... yeah, I think we know where that's going.
