We definitely need the hentacle monster template!

Don't they already have all things hentai in the "Black Tokyo" books from (I think) Skortched Urf?

BTW, any idea on which new PC races will be introduced?

I know exactly what new PC races will be part of Tian Xia. Beyond confirming there WILL be some new PC races, though... that's all I can say about that for now.

Sweet. I come from 4th ed so I'm accustomed to a lot more race options being released then we currently have. That said, I don't typically take advantage of the race options. I almost always choose human (out of my 6 Pathfinder characters to date, 1 of them was a halfling with all the others being human).

If the core races aren't whetting your whistle, there are other race options in other books;

Bestiary
Aasimar, Drow, Duergar, Goblin**, Hobgoblin, Kobold**, Merfolk. Orc, Svirfneblin, Tengu and Tiefling

**and there are additional options for Goblins and Kobolds in Classic Monsters Revisited

Bestiary 2
Dhampir, Fetchling, Grippli, Ifrit, Oread, Sylph and Undine

Campaign Setting
Gillmen

Qadira: Gateway to the East
Suli

Some of these options are fairly specific (merfolk would be a fish out of water in most campaigns), and are not specifically balanced for play alongside core races (goblins and kobolds would be quite weak, aasimar and suli are pretty buff), but they are still viable options.

I'm also missing a few books, so there might be a few more poking around that I don't know about...

More options, of course, will be cool. I never much cared for the Korobokoru, but the Spirit Folk were neat (sea was my favorite) and the Hengeyokai had their charms. Fox folk and / or some sort of Bakemono or Oni-related races could be fun.

Perhaps even a more regional version of dragon-blooded people, as 'dragon's daughters' in Asian stories always seem to be very attractive humans with some special traits.

I'd love to see more details on Tian Xia, especially since they're playing a far more active role in PFS right now. It's essay time!

I'd love to see:

-Tian Xia culturally appropriated Golarion Gods. Do the Tian Xia view Sarenrae, Rovagug or Desna in culturally appropriate ways? Do the gods appear differently to a different culture with different names and modes of worship? Is Cayden Cailean in a western leather hauberk or is he in a dusty yukata, knocking back warm sake and letting his stubble grow too long? Tian Xia wouldn't worship Westernised gods and by right, gods are meant to have ultimate influence, so how has this played out?

-Lots more flavour, crunch, steeds and possibly even some prestige classes for the Tengu. Everyone I know loves these little crow-headed weirdoes and they make the coolest racial ninjas, imho. I can just see a giant moving 'nest' carriage making its way across mountain roads while platoons of tengu ninja leap across crevasses to spread mischief and gather shiny baubles. Caw!

-More big areas of the map that are ultimately 'wild' or highly dangerous for adventurers to make long expeditions into. This could be an area where wild wyrms make civilisation impossible, previous emperors have infused with undead soldiers or even a deep subterranean jungle/valley that's shrouded in hot asiatic mists and dense ferns.

-Tian Xia alchemy. Herbal and alternative medicine does nothing on earth except threaten already critically endangered animals. But in Golarion, the potential for Tian Xia draughts and elixirs are almost infinite - provided one can slay the creatures needed for the ingredients.

-Please get creative with the samurai's oath to their lord. I love samurai but I hate those unthinking, unquestionably loyal bozos that do whatever their lords tell them to. In a world with annointed Gods, heroes above 10th level and powerful monsters, wouldn't it make sense that Samurai could serve dragons, magocracies and form their own tenets?

-On the other side of the mountains lies the potential for the Tian Xia emperor to be a God in both heritage AND power. It is unfeasible that the monarchy of Tian Xia would not have some form of elaborate plot to let them emperor or relations of the emperor take the Test of the Starstone with the force of an entire nation behind them. Absalom would be crawling with spies and info brokers looking to get as much information as they could to allow their 'divine' leader to pass the Test of the Starstone.

-Japanese martial history has a long rich tradition of legendary swordsmen and women. If any setting can accurately accommodate legendary heroes, Tian Xia can.

-A spell that puts you in a state of suspended animation and coats your body and equipment with a layer of terracotta. Brilliant trap spell for Tianxia dungeons and a hero retirement spell.

-Two words: Daemonic Mongols. Make it happen!

-Totoro. CG Epic Fey that could kick TreeRazer's butt back to the pits.

-Shrine magic. Let's make adventurers get excited about climbing mountains to visit hugely remote shrines.

-Qadiran Trade. If Qadirans are the canny investors and merchants we've been told about, surely they've already, or are well in the process of setting up large presences in the TianXia cities. What ramifications has this had? Have their cultures merged or are standoffish to one another?

-Police states. Golarion needs more of them.

-The Azlanti. What were they doing in Tianxia? Has a Tian Xia ever seen a floating city that might have been blown off course?

-Tian Xia elves. In a culture that naturally values manners, grace and charm, have the Tian Xia elves found themselves catapulted into a managerial or upper echelon above most Tian Xia humans? Have they let this success go to their heads?

Another one I forgot:

-The Meiji Restoration, Golarion style. How do Tian Xia Samurai and Tian Xia Gunslingers feel about each other? Are the samurai challenged by the existence of honour and skill free powder-based killing machines? Are the Gunslingers and their backed scientific/alchemical consortiums concerned about the samurai, or possibly, are even on the run from them? It'd be great if the battle for technological supremacy was actually being won by the swordsmen rather than science in Golarion. It would trip players out completely.

I suspect that gunslingers will be downplayed if they're mentioned at all, as they're one of the most controversial aspects of the game - many people don't want such technological stuff in their game, and that would be yet another instance of forcing it upon them, unlike Ultimate Combat, which any given GM can take or leave.

Seven Samura and Yojimbo are too embedded in my list of favorite movies of all time to NOT have at least a little bit about guns vs. samurai stuff going on in Tian Xia.

Won't be a lot if it does get in there... but it does have a good chance of getting in there somewhere.

Well, if guns do make an appearance in Tian Xia, I hope the background fluff explains how they got there from Alkenstar, considering the much younger timeline that city and the invention of guns now have. Of course, guns being invented independently would make sense also.

Oh it'd be fun to tell you what (if anything therein) you're right about, but I haven't seen the whole thing, and stuff as always is prone to change during development, plus there's the whole not being allowed to talk about stuff pre-print. But I think folks will be seriously happily.

I've never actually run a campaign in any sort of fantasy Asia, but just the outline of the Tian-Xia book has me sorely tempted. :D

Lovely Bloodflow by Baths

Anything for Samurai and spirit-infused forests inspired by this film clip would be great :D I hope it gets those juices flowing.
