Finally, can we pre-order and pick up and Gen Con to avoid shipping costs?

I would agree that the "pre-order and pick up at Gencon" option is attractive for me -- and I expect quite attractive for a few others as well.

I'd like to hear from FGG on the potential for this "shipping" option.

Pre-ordered as well...only have 1 of the originals, but gotta have it...

Sovereign Court

What can I say ... I preordered ...

Will there be a pdf version of this?

As all of FrogGod's other books came with a free pdf, it is logical to conclude this one will as well.

Ordered.

Too bad it's 1000 pages.. I would easily have bought this for twice the price if it was split into 3 300-page books, but 1000 pages is overly large for ease of use. The Pathfinder Core Rulebook is too big for easy use even at around 600 pages, so this would be even worse.

I might buy the PDF though, depending on what it costs. The concept is very nice, although the size isn't for me :)

I'll be doing something stupid on payday (Friday).

I'll be preordering two copies.

I was thinking of a standalone pdf, since I live in the UK, and the shipping rates for 1000pg hardbacks would be huge.

I have the pdfs for the 3.5 versions (bought from RPGNow), so I've got the descriptions and flavor text for all these creatures first time round. I could do the conversions myself if I take time out, but I'm really just curious what design choices they made (expanded skill points, bonus feats, etc).

I believe they have PDFs of all their products both through DriveThruRPG and the Paizo.com website. I imagine the PDF won't be available for pre-order, only for sale once the product is released.

Liberty's Edge

The pre-order cart notes that those who do pre-order a copy of the book also get a copy of the Tome of Horros in .pdf format.

Whether or not the book will be available for purchase only as a .pfr remains unclear at this time.

Pre-ordered.

Ugh. Pre-ordering as soon as I get permission from the wife.

Snorter wrote:

My preorder was for Hardcover + PDF, so there will definitely be one.

[Edit]Yeah, that was totally answered already. To my defence, it's late.

Preordered. As usual Bytes Interactive mangled my address information. Hopefully, the email sent to Bill will allow for corrections.

The pdf will be available for sale separately when the book comes out.

I preordered earlier today, though I think I screwed something up as there's no shipping charge on my receipt. T_T

I sent an email to Bill to see what if anything needs to be done to make sure I didn't in fact screw it up.

I suspect it's a problem at their end. I had the same thing happen. I'm betting that if something more is needed on our parts, we'll hear about it fairly quickly, whether by email or announcement.

I think it cost me 43 dollars in shipping.

The exchange rate is pretty good at the moment, but book plus postage came to ninety pounds. (Although I'm hoping there will be room in the parcel for a couple more books.)

Did the page change? I looked at the page again and I don't remember two order links. I can't tell from my invoice which version I ordered... I only want the PF one, but I didn't see the SW link there before... I emailed Bill. My invoice just says ezineTOH. Noe the page says ezineTOHPF and ezineTOHSW...

Sovereign Court

I recieved an email comfirmation and a link and pass codes to download the PDF at Bytes Interactive, but the PDF is not showing up.
I also did not get charged for shipping.

The pdf does not exist yet, so I'm not sure that e-mail confirmation should be going out. I'll check with Bill on it. The pdf will be available at roughly the same time as the book (August), so it's possible that e-mail is just to allow you to download it when it is released.

Thanks. If you can get us clarification on that as my pass to the PDF down load site expires in June - well before the book release, I will need to get that ammended as well.

Aye, same here. When I preordered I was so excited I didn't even consider the fact that it comes in two versions. Let us know what Bill has to say about it. My intention was to get the Pathfinder RPG version.

I believe you'll find the link expires in June 2012.

You are correct.

I did get a call from Bytes Interactive (very nice guys) and they confirmed the PDF download would not be available until Aug. so keep those passwords safe until then.

Pathfinder version for me as well!

Pathfinder version for me as well, now it's just wait and see what Bill has to say. ^_~

Whew... okay I preordered the Tome of Horrors (Complete) AND The Slumbering Tsar Saga...

Thank you Bill, and Greg and everyone at Frog God Games for such irresistible products.

PS: I didn't seem to have any trouble with adding the shipping and handling. I clicked the 1-2 books option (since I ordered both ToHC and ST) and it all seemed to calculate just fine.

Glad I paid off the CC... heh heh although now I've gotta do it all over again. :P

PF for me as well. Just hoping it didn't mangle my ST downloads.

woooow
a compendium of 1000 monsters
good idea, but whats if are the same monster reload?
3.5 has 5 mm and a lot of extras monsters manuals, but añways the same kind of monster.
wooooooo
maybe in this one we can see a lot of 409 dragons of all types (even the toilet-paper dragon), and almost a 300 dynos subtypes

then only 300 monster in the others monsters....

but its a good one, cause is only one book... i think im going to download this one first to review it, and then if i like it, then i buy it

Sorry
but to me is a lot expensive buy a book, more if its weights so much
i cannot risk my economics

Actually it is the monsters from the 3.5 DnD Tome of Horrors 1, 2, and 3 books. They are just being combined into a single book. If you want a idea what this book will have, go check out those books. Cause thats pretty much it with them all updated to Pathfinder rules or Swords and Wizardy Rules depending on which one you buy, with some extra stuff and of course all in a single massive book.

Or you could think of it like buying the DnD 3.5 edition Monster Manuals 1-3 in a collected format. Not that these monsters are from the Monster Manuals. Just giving you a idea on how different the monsters are.

These are monsters from the 3.5 era Tome of Horrors volumes 1-3. I have those in PDF, and I really like them. So getting a chance to pick them all up in a single spot is a great deal for me. It may be that just getting the PDF when it is released will be enough for you. You may be able to find a copy of the original volumes to browse at a used store for a good preview of what is to come.

I do hope that the PDF comes with a multi-chapter version as well as a one file version. I find them very handy for lesser powered laptops and mobile devices.

I'm going to pre-order after my next paycheck. There goes this month's gaming budget.

How long do we have for preordering? I have to hold off for a few weeks to let my spending budget cool off a bit.

I believe Bill's said the lower price is good through June 1st.

EDIT: Yep, here.

Have you thought about talking to LoneWolf about putting your stuff into HeroLabs?

Somewhere (much) earlier in the thread, they posted a list of all critters. It's on page 4 and posted by poster "Pale"

To everyone who ordered before there were two links. Bill is going to have to find out which verison you want before he can ship, so if you'll all e-mail him at bill[at]talesofthefroggod.com and let him know it will expedite this. Thanks!

Greg - the question has been posed here a couple of times. Let me try for a third:

I'm in Canada. I don't really want to pay $30+ for shipping. I'm going to be at Gencon in August.

Can I pre-order and pick up my book at Gencon?

possibly, maybe if I go to Gencon. I am not sure if I will or not; so would not plan on it. If I do, I won't have a booth; so can make special arrangements--but this is NOT a high probability.

Hey Matthew,

I pre-ordered both TOHC and ST as well, and it hasn't mangled my ability to download any of the Slumbering Tsar parts thus far.

(Or am I not getting your meaning correct?)
