Elan should have, at least.
Hmm Elan just finished his character arc.. now all that is left....

Nah, he extricated himself from his *father's* character arc, and embraced his role as the team comic relief.
Pretty much what John said.

Eh. I mean he at least is semi-following the thread of the conversation.
Mostly I think the fact Thor need to talk to his other Thor self to maybe sort this out. I dunno.
I love that Thor has a special ring tone for Durkon. That's a nice touch.
I mean if I'm Thor, why wouldn't I? I figure MCU Thor might have one for when one of the Avengers prays to him...

Durkon has to be one of Thor's highest-level clerics, so even if he wasn't on a divinely-ordained mission to save the world Thor would probably still know his name.
Maybe but even if wasn't, divinely mandated probably gets you a ring tone.
Lol I love Minrah and the divine commandment of not being imploded.

I keep thinking about how that last scene with Durkon and Thor (and even Durkon and Redcloask before that) would be different if it were published, say, even 10 years ago. The conversation about equity in our communities has come a long way since then.

Maybe. But even so, I think the fact that we see goblins differently NOW isn't necessarily an indictment on how we view race in our own world. At least, not for me in this comic.
(Yes I can be wrong. I often am.)

At the very least, the language used in the Durkon/Thor conversation is very much influenced by the language used in parallel discussions today. Even if the general idea of the comics' conversation would have been the same if published years back, I think it still would have "sounded" different.
Eh. Maybe Andostre. Maybe.

Concerning Thoughts
So we already knew that Durkon was more lawful than Thor. Now it turns out, he might be more good, as well.

Not just Thor ...
One of my favorite things about this comic is watching the stick-figure characters' facial expressions change during the course of a conversation.
Yep. The expressions they give, priceless. (And no, Thor isn't less good. He's just more on his plate.)
I guess, after a few worlds and aeons, you start missing the little details on the cosmic scale.
It is good then that deities have followers that can remind them that those little details are people's lives.
Maybe the fact that the Dark One is a recent god changes things. Do we know why he got a new divine color (quiddity IIRC) ?
No doubt something to do with being raised up by goblinkind instead of already par tof the old pantheons.
That or just the gestalt of a billion years of rage.

Back when he was explaining things to Durkin, Thor said that it was because he achieved divinity on his own, without help from the existing pantheons. We don't know how you go about becoming a god or why it apparently never happened before.

I feel for Durkon. He's just pointing out the problem, not the one that has to come up with solutions.
That is a great conversation. And you know who *would* be able to come up with a solution? Elan.

I mean I'm sure he would have a solution... whether or not it's a good one remains to be seen.

1) I went back to the previous two comics where Roy and Durkon thought at each other to see if there was any sign of any conversation from this comic in them, such as Elan gesturing or any facial expressions. There wasn't, but I think it would have been a nice touch.
2) I love Elan's Charlie Brown-esque expression in the second-to-last panel.
I agree with you, Androste, that was some great emoting by Elan.
Also, to Elan's point, most of us generally try roleplaying games to stop thinking. :P I mean some times anyway...
Wow the first time I related to Elan.
Ha! That was one of the funniest strips in a long time! Actually pretty close to one of my tables.
It was more amusing than some others have been, PDK.
Vid,
I dunno if I related to...but I understood his frustration.

So Roy and Durkon realized that they've treated the goblins badly, and never really thought to question why Redcloak and the goblins were doing what they're doing. And this has brought me to a major realization, too.
Belkar was right.
I mean WAY back. At the first mention of a plot back in OOTS #13:
Plot, Ahoy!
"I just figured we'd wander around, kill some sentient beings because they have green skin and fangs and we don't, and then take their stuff."
Apparently, he was right.
I mean it's kind of how we did things back in the day, Fromper...
Also glad the gang realizes that Elan running off is probably a sign of something more than him being distracted.
Also I still think Serini is being way too oblivious about the scale of the powers involved and their own decision making process. But eh.
The creator I believe has stated outright that if he was able to write for 5e, that he would erase all of the kill and take their stuff because they are green.

Eh...I mean I like that part Philip.
Also I enjoy the fact the party KNOWS it's a trap but are smart enough to only sacrifice Haley. (Who probably would have gone anyway...)

It'll be fun to see Haley getting some screen time.

I wonder if Sunny is kind of the reverse of this scenario...
5 bucks says Minrah proves she's more than a side character in this fight.
