How much interest would there be in a Forgotten Realms PFRPG

Go on to any thread, blog post, article that debates the pros and cons of Fourth Edition and Wizards of the Coast, and I can all but guarantee that how Wizards of the Coast "nuked the Realms" as one of the reasons against 4E.

You'll probably also see that 4E can only play "one kind of game" as another reason its an "inferior system," especially in the always raging 4e vs. PFRPG debate.

I should know, oft. times I'm the first one two shout out either of these facts.

But the thing is I love the Realms, I've been in love with them ever since a buddy of mine in grade 10 passed me a book called "Homeland" and I met Drizzt Do'Urden. The realms are where my first campaign (both as a player and as a DM) took place.

And I do have to admit, while I think it was a bad decision to do to a public brand with as big of a following as the Realms have, from a story telling perspective, the SpellPlague has potential.

So here's the idea. I'm thinking about running a forgotten Realms game using the Pathfinder rules. Unlike other PFRPG Realms game I have seen, it would take place after the Spellplague.

The History wouldn't match up exactly, but it'd be close to cannon, though I think maybe I'll set it only a few years after it instead of a century.

Again, I'm not sure. I'm looking for input and opinions on the idea.

ya had me up til you said spellplague, the whole thing was just to anti-realms and broke to many setting rules for me. I wish ya luck however, you might have more luck if this was in the gamer connection form.

haha, see that's the thing, I'm not looking for players yet, I'm looking for opinions. If a bunch of people come and say what you just said, then I would definitely rethink my take on it.

As far as this game goes I know I want to set it further into the future of the Realms, but I have no problem making an alternate history for that. In fact the idea originally came from how I would do a sequel to my own Realms game, which instead of the Shadowvar, saw an attack by the goddess Tiamat and her Dragonspawn. This original idea actually came from how the realms changed after that war.

So the short is, I'm not stuck on the Spellplague, its just a story telling idea.
