My DM has ruled that "variable, numeric" emcompasses rolls and not modifiers.
I searched around for it, and saw people arguing both ways. Is there anything official?
There was in v3.5. I haven't heard of anything from the Paizo guys.
I cracked open my 3.5 Player's Handbook, and you are correct. It clearly states that for a Magic missile, you calculate 1d4+1, and then multiply it.
The feat description on all of the SRD sites and OGL databases is missing this crucial example.
