I am currently playing the Curse of the Crimson Throne, my character is a Galtian refugee noble woman who made a pact with Baba Yaga for power and became a witch.
I am having a ton of fun with my tainted revenge obsessed noble woman who loves to use poison and is addicted to obtaining power. So thank you for the APG and CotCT as they have allowed me tailor my character to what I want her to be.
I have noticed threads popping up with people saying the Slumber Hex is overpowered or that the Witch in general is overpowered. Is there any response that could be used to convey the opposite?

There's an AWFUL lot of creatures that are immune to sleep effects, for one thing. The slumber hex has felt pretty tough in the game Rob McCreary's running, but that's mostly because Sara used it on a big bad end guy who failed his save. But then, it's not like other classes have similar effects at 1st level that can dramatically change the flow of combat.
But the fact that I've also heard plenty of complaints that the witch is UNDERpowered tells me that it's overall about in the right place.

Did the theoretical "Dinosaur Man" give you nightmares and put a dent in your love for dinosaurs, if only temporarily?
None at all. In fact, it made me kind of sad that I wasn't a dinosaur man.

Have you travelled outside the US?
If so where did you go?
What was the most fun thing you did?
What surprised you the most?
Nope. I've barely traveled out of the West Coast—with the exception of trips to Gen Con, I've never left California or Washington or Oregon.
If I WERE to travel outside the US, and I hope to some day, the first trip would probably be an easy one north to Canada to look for Ogopogo.

before my question, some praise: thank you for "the razing of redshore," from dungeon #92. that's one of my favorite adventures ever.
now my question: will you ever revisit that plotline? i'd love to see more of the shadow shoal and the sentinels of shadar.
HA! Good old Redshore... the adventure that began life titled "Moby Druid." Fun times! Thanks for the praise! :-)
Alas, All of that adventure is owned by Wizards of the Coast—whether or not they ever want to revisit it is up to them, as is who they get to write it. Probably won't be me.

I am indeed including Games Workshop. I wouldn't say they're price-gouging as much as I would say they're charging what the market can bear. If they WERE price-gouging, they wouldn't be one of the longest-lived RPG/wargame companies. They must be doing something right.

Why are internet trolls called trolls, when they are not vulnerable to fire?
They actually enjoy the flaming that starts with their appearance.
Shouldn't they rather be called goblins?
Because "troll" is a pun. Trolls can be unpleasent ugly monsters that savage and hurt innocents, but at the same time it's a verb that means to fish by dragging a baited line. Both things that internet trolls do.

What is wrong with Puget Sound drivers that they cannot drive in rain, snow, sunshine or any weather condition in between? I was delayed getting to work in Bellevue this morning because of a "sunshine slowdown" on I-90 and I just don't get it.
Same thing that's wrong with drivers anywhere else. Lots of people are stupid.

hmmm... while revisiting the plotline may not be possible, what about the characters? could one (or more) of them make an appearance somewhere? they were all so interesting and memorable -- tesseril, urlkathoon, shadar, amyrella (love her!), aaron, garrison, yaervilar, and lascer. i love 'em all. :-)

What caused my dryer to catch fire yesterday?
(luckily, while there was extensive damage, everyone including 3 cats are unharmed.)
Which god from the Golarion pantheon should I give praise to for the fire being relatively minor and not destroying our home entirely?
Does it matter that we live in a townhouse in the suburbs rather than a single family home or in a large urban area? I'm not sure if Aroden or Erastil would be more appropriate for the suburbs.
Also, which Golariona god should we give praise to for the safety of us and our cats?
For each deity, what would an appropriate sacrifice be?

Hey, bub, I don't go around disparaging the mighty T-Rex. I will be filing a grievance with Monsters Local 212. YOU, SIR, ARE ON NOTICE.
Should monsters form Unions for better working conditions?

I heard Monsters Local 212 had a very unfortunate accident involving a Flesh to Stone spell gone awry. Sadly, it is no longer open for business.

All of the contents of all adventures published in Dungeon, including the characters, are owned by WotC. We can't use them.
THAT SAID: You might wanna check out the last print issue of Dragon, #359. There's an article in there I wrote for the Demonomicon series that has a bunch of info about various demon lords, and one of the ones illustrated and detailed is Lascer (who was intended to be a demon lord all along, but in "Razing of Redshore" I had to back away from that a little since the status of demon lords in 3.5 was still unclear at that time).

So if a creature has sneak attack ability and tentacles with a 15' reach, could said creature flank an opponent engaged in melee with it by moving its tentacles behind or to both sides of the opponent when it attacks?
No.
It takes 2 to flank.
That's not saying a monster with a weird special ability might someday break that rule, but it'd have to be a specific special ability possessed by a monster.

A clogged lint screen that made all the other lint in the machine back-up inside the machine's guts around the electrical circuits that then shorted out and lit the tinder-like lint on fire.
(Good to hear no one was hurt!)
Sarenrae.
Nah; doesn't matter.
Gozreh's the best choice for cat safety, although Shelyn might count as well.
As for each deity's appropriate sacrifice... that's a complicated question. Sean's articles on the gods and goddesses that appear in Pathfinder usually say, though.

How much does it cost to book you as a guest to a Con? (you know, if you had that "free time" thing people are always talking about)
I have no idea. When Paizo sends one of us to a convention to be a guest, I believe that normally the convention pays for hotel and convention tickets and the travel expenses, though. I've actually never gone to a convention to be a guest beyond Gen Con and Norwescon, though. Not sure I'd really want to—Jason and Erik are better suited for that kind of stuff.

ah yes, i enjoyed that article. maybe it was frustrating to be unable to make lascer a demon lord, but you must admit that making him a paragon infernal with over 2000 hit points was pretty cool. :-)
i am curious, however, at the change in mr. lascer's appearance as compared to his picture in dungeon magazine. in dragon #359 he was gray-skinned, while in dragon #297 (the epic issue which had information that tied in with dungeon #92) he was green-skinned. was there a reason for this change? does it have something to do with the change from paragon infernal to corrupted human?
this brings me to another question: who is depicted in the third character portrait in the article on the sentinels of shadar and the shadow shoal? there is tesseril (the elf), lascer (the green-skinned demon), and a bearded man who i cannot identify. is this shadar?

Which plush Cthulu should I get my newborn?
As a fun side story that some friends of mine gave there daughter a plush Cthulu when she was young (she called it Lulu). A few years ago she told her parents when she was in trouble that Lulu wouldn't like that.

Gray skinned was always how he appeared in my homebrew game—the artist decided to go with green skin for reasons I can't say in Dragon #297, and I didn't really like the art in that issue so it was a great chance to revise his look back to what he SHOULD look like with #359's entry. It has nothing to do with him changing from a paragon infernal.
The bearded man is a mystery to me as well. I almost suspect that the art that got ordered for that article was ordered without much attention paid to the article—as if they knew only that they had an epic article to illustrate and already had an artist working on the art in some cases. This happened a fair amount in the magaiznes—you'd have on one hand an article being written by an author, but that article also needs to showcase a new or upcoming book, and on top of that changes that happen to an article in development can have ripple effects. Especially in the case of art coming in late and not exactly what was ordered—in this case the magazine editors either have to revise the words of the article to match the art or kill the art in question. And since a page of art costs about 12 times as much as a page of text... it's usually the text that changes. Or in worst-case scenarios, no change at all is made, and then you have art that doesn't seem to belong in the article at all.
In any case, I'm not sure why that bearded dude is in there.

And ha! You should not displease Lulu!

(Warning D&D ideological question)So I started making my 3d wilderness terrain for D&D (posted on my FB). I have a bunch of sets from Dwarvenforge and a so many miniatures I don't really need to collect anymore. My best buddy commented on how he was in a game with no minis or terrain whatsoever. I was flabbergasted, I guess I'd been using the minis and terrain so long now that I can't even imagine going without it. Then what he said afterwards blew my mind, that the group had zero interest in miniatures and terrain. He showed them my pics and they thought it was really cool, but they'd never consider using it. Am I too dependent on these addons to the game? Don't most people strive (finances willing) to do what I've done over the course of the past 15 years? Sorry it just really blows my mind and it be interesting to hear your input.

If using minis and terrain is fun for you, then you are absolutely not too dependent on them. Folks play the game differently. I can't imagine playing the game without some sort of battle mat these days; it's just too handy to keep track of positioning and all that. Doesn't make folks who game without them wrong at all.
Play the game you like the WAY you like and all will be good with the world.
