This has been a rather interesting read, fuzzy man eating crotch biting balls have torn down a city in japan, alien worlds are exhanging land mass with each other, and party of yahoo's continuosly lose thier unmentionables every session. How's the clothing situation looking for the party.
PS. What happened to your Pathfinder Game
Clothing is looking more than a bit ragged, but the NBC suites help and give several useful advantages, including a little bit of DR. Plus I think they still have a few pairs of jeans left from the gas station.
Pathfinder still runs on Saturday, although we're switching to a 2 on / 1 off schedule. The players have been just too lazy to post, and I can't fault them since I have too. Although Phil has been talking about a character journal now that he's switched to Ryzzim's kid.
Kul'Rath and Kessa got brought back and they finally found out the backstory on what is going on. Now they're busy trying to do something about it.

Still Playing at GP or switched everything to your new house.
By the way still haven't congradulated you and your girl on that, Hope you have some good fortune with that in the future.
GURPS is at our place. PF was and may still be at the GP, but they are moving to a smaller location. We're thinking of trying it at David's house, but that remains to be seen. I also have a friend running Kingmaker at my place, hopefully I'll have a campaign journal up for it soon.

the gods are very angry.they have sent the two-legged ones after the few of us left.we were running, but there were too many of them.finally, our stallion told us to keep running, and he turned to face them.we couldn't even turn back to look at him.finally,i just couldn't run any more.i had to stop and rest,so i laid down for just a second.when i woke up,there was a bright dome over me and more two-legged ones were running toward me.a stallion with lots of covering and a glowing god's gift in his hands challenged me,and i begged for mercy.before he could kill me,two mares, also heavily covered, took me and another two-legged mare, who wasn't all covered, off into a small valley between god-dwellings while other stallions shouted at each other.just then horrible chaos monsters jumped off the tops of the god-dwellings down on us.one of them bit my leg,but the one two-legged mare started slashing at it with a strange curved sword.when another monster tried to jump on me,it missed ,so i started stomping on it.it wasn't very happy pretty soon,as i really started crunching it.by the time i was done stomping, all the other monsters were gone, and the mare with the strange sword was bandaging my leg, just as if she was my sister.another mare shouted that this was the end of the world and that where i came from was destroyed.i don't know where i am or who these two-leggeds are,or what the monsters are or where they're coming from and i just started crying and crying.

my big two-leg is taking good care of me.she carries me inside this nice, thick blanket, with me right next to her.when i feel playful,i knead her, right between her teats.she meows real loud, but then she purrs.i get lots of nice naps, and plenty of warm meat and tasty snacks.the big mean dogs bite my two-leg pretty often, and the other two-legs a lot,but they always get better after a lot of meowing.at least the big mean dogs can't hurt me.but wait,my two-leg is handing me to a smaller two-leg,and is walking off.this is a nice place with lots of wonderful smells and lots of food, and my new two-leg treats me just as good as my old one.she doesn't wear anything on the ends of her legs,so it's lots of fun to bite her there and watch her meow and hop around.still,i sometimes wonder what happened to my old two-leg.maybe she's having her kittens.time for a nice nap.

i was still crying when i noticed most of the two-leggers were actually going into one of the gods' homes!and they weren't being struck dead!i finally decided to follow, but when i came to the opening,i mashed my nose into something that wasn't there!i couldn't see anything, but my nose really hurt.finally i fit through the small opening and came up to the opening that wasn't from inside the gods' home.i guess the gods took water, froze it,and put it into the openings of their homes so they can see out but we can't get in.i was looking outside at the two-legger stallion who wanted to hurt me,when there was a huge, ugly whinny from outside.several of the two-leggers looked at me,as if i did it,but then a huge, ugly horse stallion charged the two-legger stallion outside and tried to eat him.the two-legger threw his god's gift at the horse, but missed.the two-legger stallion with the shield threw a little axe at the horse, cutting it deep in the neck, and the outside two-legger threw another god's gift at it,but missed again.then the shield stallion swung a big axe at it,and there was this big loud noise and this terrible smell.when i looked, the horse stallion was now a gelding, and it was mad,but then it screamed.a shiny dome appeared behind it,and its leg disappeared!it fell down screaming, but got up and ran off on only three legs.meanwhile,a little, furry two-legger mare appeared inside the dome, and sat up when the dome disappeared.the two nice mares were talking to her, when the quiet mare came out, pushing a cart with a pile of chests on it.some of the two-leggers dug up some grass[Orchid is colourblind and can't tell the grass in question is purple!]and put it in another chest, and then they all started leaving, taking the loaded cart and the grass.the shield stallion started to get very tired,so he climbed on my back.to steady himself,he grabbed onto my teats, which really hurt, but at least he didn't fall off.we arrived at a huge gods' home, filled with large furry two-leggers,and another two-legger mare, who said something about knowing that others far away were in danger.the mare with the strange sword made me put covering on my head and top,and it feels weird to be covered.now we rescue the others faraway.

Well sorry for the long delay in updates. The game is still going strong although it has changed a little, but first everyone needs to be caught up on what has happened to our party. This will start from the last update.
Waking up the next morning the party crossed back to figure out how to get their vehicles across the chasm. They showed some sense and approached the vehicle very, very cautiously. This didn’t prevent the remaining giant crotch muncher from launching itself at Lady Obai, but they saw it coming so once she got loose the party’s combined fire power quickly reduced it to a quivering mass of hamburger.
They managed to get the vehicles across by going back and finding one of the trucks designed to transport cars and turned its back in into a temporary bridge. They then dumped the bridge into the chasm and went on their merry way.
They hadn’t driven too far cross country before they spotted a deer feeding on the grass. Thinking they might finally Richard directed the driver of his vehicle to run it down. A well thrown axe brained poor little Bambi, a pretty impressive feat from a car. Richard immediately jumped down from the car and started gutting and dressing the kill.
So Richard is there arms deep in the innards of the deer when the deer’s head lifts up and turns to look at him. Richard and the deer exchange a rather disturbing glance before it starts trying to kick him.
Tenso immediately shouted the advice that beheading a zombie would kill it. Of course when Richard did as he suggested the head the fell by his feet started gnawing on his boot and the body keep trying to kick him. At this point he gave up in disgust and the party accelerated away until they could no longer see the headless zombie deer trying to follow them.
After a bit more driving they eventually came across a medieval style town. They were careful to avoid any people or animal here as judicious use of the binoculars revealed them all to be zombies. They did manage to strike a road that ran north to south; they figured it would be much easier on the tires of the cars.
Eventually the road headed into a thick forest. Going into a forest where they couldn’t see the zombies coming sounded like a really bad plan so they turned east again and drove cross country. This proved to almost be disastrous. They ran across several groups of zombies and while the zombies couldn’t catch the vehicles they did follow them unceasingly.
The group knew it was in trouble when the binoculars revealed a group of zombies several hundred strong to the west and north of them.

The Admiral Jose Monkamuck |

So there stand our brave survivors. Zombies on all sides just waiting to gnaw on their tender flesh, and these zombies don’t even have the decency to die when their heads are cut off, so what’s our party supposed to do.
Luckily for them it turns out they weren’t the only living people around. You gotta love it when Serendipity kicks in. At the edge of the forest they could see the zombies getting attacked by someone at the edge of the forest. This mysterious fighter also seemed to be beckoning the party towards the forest.
Whatever sinister this person might have he at least wasn’t a zombie, which was a more immediate threat at the moment. The party put a brick down on the gas pedal of the bulldozer as a distraction and quickly gunned the other vehicles for the forest.
Driving into the deep underbrush they had abandon the cars quickly as they fled deeper into the forest. As it turned out the zombies didn’t pursue them too far into the underbrush. Their savior explained that the zombies seemed to get confused in the forest. The party never figured it out for sure but the zombies respond to life force. They would attack any sort of animal, but didn’t bother with plants. However the life force of the trees was enough to act like a fog to the zombies, leaving them unable to sense the tasty meat snacks hiding there.
Their savior turned out to be a teenager from some form of “modern day” and hailed from the country of Korea. He had appeared here much the same way they had, but had found a family hiding in the woods that he couldn’t speak with. He had been protecting and helping them in exchange for food (and had managed to start a relationship with the oldest daughter despite the language barrier).
The family turned out to be French, just like Wren. So she was able to understand them when no one else could. The family had NOT arrived here like the others, they were actually from this area and had lived here all their lives. To them the zombie plague had started months before as rumors coming form the north. Eventually they saw the masses of zombies at the edge of the woods and came to believe themselves the only ones left alive. A few day later the night sky light up with hundreds of colors. It stretched as far the eye could see and lasted for several minutes. When it end everything seemed normal at first, but when they quickly realized the forest was not as large anymore. To the south the forest ended at a chasm and the largest part of the forest had been replaced with wasteland as far the eye could see. To the west was an abandoned city of strange design. The Korean kid was able to identify the city as being of modern make, but long abandoned.
The party was at a loss what to do until someone played around with the radio a little. By random luck they actually tuned in a broadcast. It was mostly garbled and unintelligible but it did give them a few pieces of important information. First off someone who had access to a radio claimed to have information about what was going on. Second they need to find the radio tower in city and a little triangulation told them it was the city to the west. Finally there was the warning that you needed to be very, very quiet or something in the city would find you. Sounds fun doesn’t it?

The Admiral Jose Monkamuck |

Well the party wisely decided to cut down the dead weight a little. They decided to leave most of the NPCs and former PCs in the care of the French, who warned them that food was limited. Those going were Wren, Richard, Tenso, Lilly, Lady O-bai, Sawako, Arkelos and Mark. Everyone going is able bodied and at least theoretically able to sneak around. They of course left the cars, most of the food and some of the weapons behind.
The now lighter smaller party started to sneak into the city hoping to finally find some answers. Strolling down the street the city looked like it had been abandoned for some time. The absence of any kind of life, animal or human, was worrying as the odds of them actually be alone were nil. They had made it a pretty good way into the city by the time that Mark recognized the town as being Detroit and since he was Detroit cop….
The first order of business seemed to be finding this “radio tower” mentioned in the broadcast. Now since towers are nice and tall by definition the party thought they should find a tall building to spy from. It didn’t exactly take long for them to locate nice tall building to climb.
As the party climbed the stairs to the top they could hear things moving around in the building. They wisely went as quietly as they could and kept all the doors firmly shut along the stairwell. Moment after moment they silently climbed up the stairs praying that whatever they were hearing wouldn’t hear them. There was very tense moment as the finally reach the top of the stairs and would have to open one of the doors to whatever occupied the building. The top floor of the building proved to be thankfully unoccupied, but it did have great view.
Looking around for something that could be called a “radio tower” they spotted the building for KODT radio pretty quickly. (Only one player got the joke unfortunately.) That seemed like a good bet until they spotted some sort of cobbled together metal antenna sticking out of the top of the Fields Museum. Since this was the only thing they had seen in the city that looked like it was made AFTER whatever disaster happened here that seemed like more likely location.
Since Mark was from here he wanted to stop by the police station on the way to the museum. He figured that even if they couldn’t find survivors there was always the SWAT team and riot gear. He eventually persuaded the others that it would be a worthwhile diversion, and not a very far one.
Too bad they didn’t get there as easily as they had hoped. Their luck had held for several hours, eventual allowing them to get back down stares safely, but nothing lasts forever. Not too far from their lookout they came across what looked like a pair rats trying to hide under a car. Of course these rats had 8 legs, dozens of eyes all over its body, a scorpion like tail and were the size of small dog. The party watched the rats vary cautiously, trying to find some way to bypass the critters without a fight.
Too bad they were watching the wrong critter. Something the size of a large dog hit Wren from the side, biting deep into her leg. It looked like a cat with strangely thing multi-jointed legs and about 10 sets of ears running the length of its body. A second one wasn’t spotted until it leapt as well and the party realized that the things could blend in with their surrounding like a chameleon. Richard cut down the second attacker with an axe, but the first simply ripped off Wren’s leg and ran off with its tasty prize. The rat like creatures used the distraction to make themselves scarce.
Wren’s magic was able to stop the bleeding, but unlike Damien she couldn’t regrow it quickly. Her magic would take months restore the limb. However they did manage to find a medical supply store that had a few wheelchairs in stock. This improved here mobility significantly, but not quite to what it had been.
Next stop the police station. What do you think the odds are that it’s unoccupied?

The Admiral Jose Monkamuck |

Well anyone who thinks the police station would be a simple in and out probably hasn’t been paying attention. Of course the players have been paying attention so they were more or less ready.
Arriving at the police station the party decided to split up, always a great plan. Wren wasn’t exactly going to be getting around a police station easily in a wheelchair so she stayed outside. Lady O-Bai, Arkelos and Sawako stayed outside with her. Mark, Tenso, Richard and Lilly would go in to loot the place.
The station seemed pretty deserted and getting to the armory was pretty easy, too bad it didn’t have much. It did have a number of flak vests and some guns, but guns can be a two edged sword around here. The three decided it would also be a good idea to go find the evidence room as it could have any number of useful items in it.
Find the evidence locker was pretty easy, this police station was laid out exactly like the one Mark was used to back home, a fact that worried him quite a bit. On the plus side he was able to actually get the lock open on the heavy vault door that led to the evidence locker. Of course once they looked inside they probably didn’t consider it a “plus”.
On the other side of the door was two things that might have once been dogs. They heads were exactly the same a Doberman, looked perfectly normal, it’s the rest of it that looked freaky. He body had the same massive muscular build as a bull and was about 6 feet tall at the shoulder. That plus the dozens of noses stuck all over it made pretty clear this was not a normal critter.
The party’s first and very normal instinct to shut the damn door was a good one. Too bad the doggies had seen them too. Three people was not enough muscle to hold the door closed completely, but at least the doggies couldn’t get at them directly for the moment. Then Mark got the rather brilliant idea of hitting the dog with some of the pepper spray they had found. Now a dog’s nose is more sensitive than a man’s, and these dogs had LOTs of noses, so it was pretty good idea. It did make one of the dogs run away crying.
Too bad it just pissed the other one off. Using the door as a shield they were able to pump enough shotgun rounds into it to put it down, but not easily. Still no lasting damage was done. Looking into the room they could see that the dogs got in and out through a massive hole in the wall. This was where doggy number 2 had fled. That would have been fine if everyone was still in the building.
The group outside was able to hear trouble coming long before it got there. Arkelos and Wren had time to prep spells before trouble actually manifested itself. Still hiding did seem like the better option. At least to most of them.
Apparently Arkelos didn’t get the memo. He threw a concussion ball at the dog which did hurt it, but not enough to really slow it down. The concussion ball was enough noise wise to be heard half a mile way, more like 10 miles by one of them multi-eared cats.
While any incoming cats were an issue, they were not as immediate a problem as the dog. It of course charged the Arkelos who drove it back with a stench spell. Still it’s attention had now been drawn to the group who opened fire. It tried it’s best but the combined firepower was too much. Literally firepower when in the case of Wren’s fireball that she had charged to max before it got there. Like it’s predecessor in the police station it eventually succumbed to the mass firepower before doing too terrible a mauling to anyone.
Luckily for the characters they realized immediately that they had made a LOT of noise, way too much noise. They simply ran for it hoping to get to the museum and some sort of safety before too many of the cat things could home in on the sound. They were about ready to fall over as the museum came in sight and were pretty sure there were a lot of cats close behind them. The first look at the museum was kind of strange. Barricades had been constructed around the museum and hung with speakers. The speakers were pumping out a very high pitched static. Considering that the cat things giving chase refused to come within 50 feet of the place it should be easy to guess what the static is for.
So they managed to survive their trip to the museum, but are the really answers inside.

(small edit, they were in Chicago not Detroit. )
The welcoming committee in the museum was NOT what the party was expecting. Instead of a ragtag band of survivors, or some military company or anything like that they were greeted by several 10 foot tall gorillas. The gorillas had an extra set of eyes set into their upper chests, a pretty disturbing development.
A voice over the loud speaker told them that they would have to give all their weapons to the gorillas if they wanted answers. There was a little debate, but the gorillas weren’t exactly small so the party eventually gave in.
Further in they saw a few female gorillas. They realized they were female when they saw they had several sets of eyes on their chest, instead of a single pair like the males. At this point the significance of the location of eyes occurred to various players, eliciting the appropriate round of groans. Continuing on they negotiated their way through the areas behind the exhibits until they eventually found their host.
Their host was not a sight to inspire confidence. He gave his name as Territh Moran. A middle aged man who obviously hadn’t had a bath in way too long. He had a rather disturbing gleam in his eyes, rather wild hair and his cloths were mainly held together by the dirt caked onto them. Still he did provide them with something in the way of answers.
He claimed to be someone who knew how to travel between different dimension. He claimed to have gotten knocked off course one day and landed here. Here as it turns out was a tiny bit of leftover existence from a universe that had collapsed.
Eventually he had figured out how to pull in other pieces of destroyed dimensions. That’s how most of the different terrains they had run into had gotten here. As he got better he was able to pull in smaller and smaller pieces until eventually he had pulled in our crew. According to him the dimension each and every one of them came from no longer existed. They had been destroyed forever.
However, not all hope was lost. The reason he had been able to catch the party members is that each of them had had a lot of “future”. As he had found the potential represented by how long they could live and all they could achieve was a powerful force. It was about the only thing that matters in the space in between dimensions.
He planned to harness that power. If the party could collect enough people and objects with that potential he could use the device he had built to get everyone off this small pieces of fading existence. Of course they couldn’t go directly to a good universe. They’d have to detour through a few worlds that were in the process of breaking. They wouldn’t have to stay long…..but the end of the world might not be an easy thing to survive anyway.
Considering both the story and the source the party was skeptical at first. He did say that his device could also fix Wren’s leg. Since her leg wasn’t coming back any time soon without they guys help they thought it might be worth it to let him prove at least one of his claims.
After strapping her in there Territh handed her a strip of leather and told her to bite down. This was not a promising sign.
It was pretty much instantly apparent that the devise was NOT healing her leg. The device was literally rewinding time for her leg. Unfortunately Territh had seen the stump and thought the injury was many months old at the least. So he set the machine a little too far back.
Wren screamed. In the space of less than a minute she re-experienced every pain her leg had felt for the last six months. Every ache, every scrape, every tired muscle that a leg can feel for month happening all over again, backwards. This was not a sensation that the human brain is supposed to feel. It was definitely not something Wren will soon forget.
Taking that as proof the guy wasn’t completely full of it. The party started planning ways to acquire more “future” so that they could get the hell out of here. First off Territh said he was able to pull in a few objects nearby that might help. They could be people, objects or monsters, which is why he wasn’t willing to bring them over in the middle of the museum. The party figure they could also do a little looting along the way. He was also able to tell them O-Bai was pregnant. This was the rather predictable result of relations between her and a young french man a night or two ago.
As the party got ready, Territh fired up his machine and brought over their new company.

The Admiral Jose Monkamuck |

Well as the party prepared for another sortie into the city Mark and Territh discussed where to put their new company. Apparently Territh had been able to refine his aim since he first brought the party over to this world. Eventually they settled on trying to land them near a gun store that Mark knew of a few miles away.
As the party set out Territh gave them one final word of warning, “Watch out for pigeons.”
The trip to where their new companions are was pretty uneventful, since the party knew what to do to avoid trouble. As it turned out their new arrivals include a centaur, a young woman, a young woman covered in fur, a chainsaw and a patch of purple grass. Curiously enough the chainsaw is missing the usually handle and instead seems to be fitted to attach to some sort of stump.
The centaur goes by the name of Orchid and is an alternate character to Lady O-Bai. Susan is a young woman from the modern world with pretty good intuition who thinks she can see the future, an alternate character for Wren (she also has a huge Schrödinger’s advantage). The Psychic is a mute psychic covered in fur thanks to some futuristic genetic engineering. Sean has given up playing Sawako who has returned to NPC status and is now playing The Psychic.
Unfortunately for the party the arrival of their new companions did not go unnoticed. Half dozen of the cat things moved in to attack as the party was introducing themselves to their new members. The fight was brief and injuries were light. At this point the party has become very combat hardened and pretty good at coordination.
With the cats taken care of it was time to loot the gun store. Thankfully it seems that no one and nothing else had looted the place before them. They found shot guns, rifles, pistols and of course plenty of ammunition in the back. Having no interest in guns Arkelos elected to stay outside. Orchid got very nervous when she heard what sound sort of like a horse whinny, but much deeper pitched. The rest of the party realized there was a problem when Arkelos opened up with a concussion ball and started running.
Chasing after Arkelos was what looked like an eight legged horse with fangs. There was a lot of discussion about leaving Arkelos to his fate. Unfortunately the party decided to intervene and save him. The party let the horse monster pass and then attacked from the rear.
Susan grabbed one of the shot guns at random, lucky for her it happened to be already load. Her first shot nearly castrated the beast. Richard axe strike finished the job. This was too much for the poor creature; it proceeded to run away at top speed. Can’t say I blame it.
After that they were able to quickly return to base, although they did make a brief stop at an electronic store to pick up some other supplies.

The Admiral Jose Monkamuck |

Alright. I’m going to speed up a little bit because I really want to get caught up to where we are now. The last post was still a few months out of date.
After getting back with their new companions the party decided to go retrieve their old companions, along with the French people. They took gas for the vehicles and speakers to keep the cats away.
Meeting up with their old companions they found out that they hadn’t killed some of the huge crotch munchers as thorough as they thought they had. Luckily the big ones only fed on people and so didn’t spread a slow as the other ones. Unluckily zombies weren’t a match for the critters. They had a matter of hours before everything would be completely overrun. Gathering all the vehicles, including the bulldozer, and refueling them as fast as possible the party set out on their way back to the museum.
On the way they found out why Territh warned them about pigeons. Of course a better warn would have to watch out for giant two headed pigeons of doom. Still he did warn them.
A trio of the pigeons attack on the way back, each going after a different vehicle. The only fatalities were due to Arkelos. When one of the pigeons ripped the roof off the van he was in he decided to use some of the French people as human shields while he slung area affect spells at the pigeon. This really, REALLY upset Wren who saw the French people as her responsibility and O-Bai who was having a kid with one of them.
Arriving back at the museum much worse for ware they healed their wounds as best they could and Territh fired up his machine. He wanted a lot for future to power it, but with an army of giant crotch munchers on the way, what they had would have to do.
Each trip between worlds took several weeks. As this was Ray’s last session for a significant while, I didn’t feel too bad when Wren decided she had to murder Arkelos in his sleep. The French had appealed to her as their liege lady to do something about the unjust murder of their kin.
The first world they stopped at was Fallout 3 esque. Here they managed to resupply by finding a buried grocery store warehouse that had lots of cans, bottle water, etc. They also met a strange mutated individual who had third gimpy arm he called his “strong hand”. This introduce Jerry, a new player to the group, who has since had to drop due to personal reasons, hopefully he can rejoin at some point.
They jumped through several other worlds picking up more and more refugees along the way. Susan also picked up a radioactive rock which activated her Schrödinger’s advantage. On their last successful jump they landed on Rifts Earth, in Chicago. Attempting to jump again instead relocated them to southern Nebraska. Apparently they were now stuck on Rifts Earth. Territh was able to use the device to adjust them to their new reality and make it “home” for them. This explains the various changes that occurred moving from GURPS to Rifts, two very different systems.
Some things I learned running a survival horror campaign. It can be a LOT of fun, particularly with a group that does not mind their characters getting mauled. GURPS is great system for it. The problem lies in how to move from the problem of immediate supplies to a long tern survival. It’s definitely something where you have to build up. Also I realized why it’s pretty much always either stand alone movies or a series of movies. You have to know ahead of time just what they need to do to be safe and keep things building in that direction. Survival horror of this type at least is not for a long term campaign.

The Admiral Jose Monkamuck |

Now they are in Rifts, and using that system. Richard has become a cyber-knight, Susan is a mutant with some nice powers, Wren is a Leyline Walker and the Psychic has become a psy-stalker. The others didn’t change much between the systems. Susan ended up being a mutant with evolving powers, she so far has flight, radar and natural combat ability. For those not familiar with the system natural combat ability is pretty much the nastiest one.
During their stay in Rifts Ray has return and is now on his second character, his being a crazy who did not last long. The new one is from robotech, but not giant sized and without any sort of vehicle.
Syth let Tenso get killed and brought in a new character as well. He has a bad habit of trying to figure out the character’s personality as he plays. I’ve seen people do this well, but normally he never really figures it out, gets bored with the character and asks to make a new one. So I thought a character that pretty much starts a blank slate could work well. Thankfully Rifts has a class exactly like that, so he rolled up a hatching dragon named Brimstone.
While they did arrive on Rifts Earth they did not arrive at the usually timeframe for the system. They arrive in PA 33. This is over 70 years from when the original Rifts book is placed. Most of the political groups people know and love from the system either do not exist yet, or are in the process of forming. This gives the party a lot of time to build up and a chance to make major changes to the timeline. It will be very interesting to see where things go from here.
By the time they arrived on Rifts earth the population packed into the museum was about 150 beings. These were mostly human, but included a handful of elves and the gorillas. The first major concern was food. The area they had landed in was originally farm land LONG ago and wheat stretched for as far as the eye could see. Of course 1) it wouldn’t be ripe for a few months and 2) man does not live by wheat alone. Richard was actually elected leader, and of course his first order of business was to look for supplies.
Exploring a nearby city they found a few old emergency generators and a map letting them know where they were. They didn’t find any food unfortunately. The party set out to try and loot an air force base that was a listed on the map as being about 60 miles away. On the way there they found a saloon instead.
They learned several useful things there. They learned about credits, at least the gold kind. They also learn that the city where they had planned to go was infested with leatherwings, this called for change in plans. In the good news category they learned of a cattle market to the south that might yield some supplies. Finally they learned that their proprietor was actually a demon and the ensuing fight saw Tenso blown to pieces.
When they reached the cattle market they brokered a deal with some cowboys to come and teach some of their people to herd cattle. They had passed several herds of cows, buffalo and other animals on the way here. Of course they needed money for all this.
Eventually they brokered a deal with the local black market rep to raid the pre-rifts army base of Levin Worth. There they found that a temporal bubble had trapped the armor outside of time, along with a going away party for a Robert McCaffery. Robert is a friend of ours who is currently stationed in Afghanistan. A future version of him from just before the coming of Rifts was trapped along with his wife, kids and most of his squad.
An attack by a tectonic entity, plus what a two hundred plus years of abandonment had done to the base, convinced the soldiers that if they party wasn’t 100% honest, they at least knew more than the soldiers did. They were able to reassemble a more or less working halftrack and trailer from the debris (stupid crits on salvage rolls). The armory contained hundreds of pistols, rifles and suites of body armor, plus a few rocket launchers and crew serviced weapons. Half of these had been promised to the black market.
Once they got it back to their buyer half of what they collected totaled out to more than 8 million credits. Most of this they took in trade. They picked up a few vehicles, including some farming equipment. Another chunk of money got them enough supplies that when added to the herds the cowboys would help them collect and the wheat they could harvest everyone should be able to survive the winter at least. They picked up a lot of medical supplies.
Finally almost half their money went into buying a medium sized nuclear power generator. It couldn’t run a large city, but they could still get a lot of power out of it. More than enough to keep their vehicles and weapons charged. Thankfully in addition to being good soldier and fun guy, Robert is an expert in electrical grids and electrical generators. Adjusting his real world skills for the tech level of his game world self he should easily be able to hand that size power plant.
This is where we ended last week, with them ready to haul all this back to their base. Considering the number of party members, along with the armed soldiers and the cowboys there isn’t that much that would mess with a group that size.
At this point my plan for the campaign is to use the Kingmaker rules adapted for Rifts to track how their “kingdom” grows. I expect months to pass where not much happens and then for them to deal with different events as they crop up. I would appreciate any help I can get in adapting the Kingmaker rules for Rifts. Mainly I need to figure out what buildings should be available. Obviously there could be a lot of buildings the party could build (power plants, robotic factories, etc.) that aren’t listed in Kingmaker. Also the events will be drastically overhauled. I’ll be starting a thread for that over in the Homebrew section of the forums.

the two-leggers have been real nice to me,most of them at least.we've helped rescue lots of people and gone to many strange places and met many people and fought horrible chaos things.one of them was a real mean two-legger who was really a chaos thing.we should have known when he wouldn't let me inside his carousing place.he killed one of the two-leggers before they killed him.he was so horrible i couldn't help myself.i ran and ran,but then i fell in a hole and broke my leg.i was sure i was going to die,and i cried and cried, but i didn't notice what was in the hole.it was a giant egg!and it was hatching!a baby dragon came out, called me momma and healed my leg with god power!eventually we had to explain to him that i wasn't really his momma, but he still follows us around and helps us out.i met some nice two-leggers selling food, and they call me plainsrunner!we got back with lots of the things we needed and now we're setting up a kingdom.the nice mare with the swords is queen,i guess, and she asked me to try to help the people by talking with them and trying to give them good advice.i feel so proud!

Well last week didn’t see much of any RP, which is because it was taken up introducing the party the ins and outs of the Kingmaker Kingdom Building rules. Still this is a good chance to reintroduce the cast of characters and players. We did manage to quickly roll through 3 months of building once everything was in place.
Ruler – Lady O-Bai – Older Dave - +1 Stability (currently). In an interesting change Richard did NOT want the job of leadership long term. Eventually Lady O-Bai was decided on, which she is happy with. So are most of the NPCs since she stayed behind when everyone else went off seeking supplies. She is married to Francois, the young man who got her pregnant. 7 months pregnant at the end of the session. Not a big bonus, but that should go up a bit as they level up. I do allow players to raise theirs stats a little as time goes on.
Counselor – Grandpa Frenchy – NPC - +4 loyalty. While the party was gone Francois’s grandfather more or less took over organizing the farming efforts. As his reward he get’s to speak for the will of the people. Appointed an NPC to the position of representing the NPCs is a choice I think I like.
General – Richard James – Josh - +8 Stability. The Cyber-knight is the most logical choice for the position. The maxed out stat bonus doesn’t hurt.
Grand Diplomat – Wren – Laura - +8 Stability. This was the character’s original concept after all. A diplomat with a little bit of spellcasting.
High Priest – Orchid – Older Dave - +1 Stability. Not the highest bonus. This is less of the religious leader role and more of the emotional guide and comforter role. The role feels right for the character.
Magister – Territh – NPC - +7 Economy. He might be a bit off his rocker, but he is smart and seems to know more than anyone else around.
Royal Assassin – Lilly – Dave - +8 Loyalty. She is happy to beat people back into line. It remains to be seen whether or not she is the stealthy assassin type.
Spymaster – Miranda – Sean - +6 Economy (currently). A mute psychic seems a good choice for the job and her having Telepathy helps.
Treasurer – Susan – Laura - +2 Economy. The mutated character was apparently an accountant before ending up with the party. Seems a logical choice.
Warden – Robert – NPC - +5 Loyalty. He is a good guy to have organizing the defense, at least when he can tear himself away from building houses.
Unassigned – Brimstone – Syth. The dragon is currently pushing for the Local Diety position. We’ll see if he succeeds.
Unassigned – Unnamed – Ray. Dropped the macross character realizing she would leave to seek a way out of here and back to macros. Apparently planning to bring in a Palladium Fantasy Palladin. That character *MIGHT* survive.
Kingdom Stats (currently unnamed)
Area 4 Hexs on the Southern border of Nebraska
Roads: 4
Farms: 3
Towns: 1 (New Hampton)
Economy: 21
Stability: 25
Loyalty: 19
Unrest: 0
Current BPs: 14
They’re growing pretty quickly. Let’s see where they go from here.

Well a further month and half went passed peacefully and then suddenly a forest.
Two hexes west of the New Hampton there is a very small leyline running North-South for 50 miles in each direction. A second intersects it in the hex nearest our party’s new home. Apparently overnight a stretch of forest 60 miles long and 20 miles wide simply appeared on top of the leyline. Since this puts it on the border of the lands they’ve claimed for farming, that’s a pretty major concern for our heroes.
So Wren, Orchid, Lilly, Richard and Miranda set out to explore and see if they could find anything. Their first glimpse of the forest screamed “not from Earth” pretty loudly. The trees had purple leaves, the critters had extra limbs and all Orchid’s herbalism training could not identify a single plant.
Of course this didn’t deter or even greatly surprise our intrepid explorers. They also quickly realized that Richard was not the best person to be picking their direction as he managed to get them lost in very short order. Still he managed to get (and keep) them lost in a direction that let Wren sense some sort of magic.
Using her new wizard senses she led them to tree with a strange face growing from it. In front of the face was a tree stump that was hollowed out and filled with seed, nuts and fruits. Taking this as some sort of religious offering Wren and Orchid both placed some offerings of food in the tree stump. This apparently greatly pleased the watching clan.
The native that showed itself looked like a 4 foot tall lemur with feet that looked more like hands. It babbled at them in some sort of language that Wren was magically able to translate. It apparently was impressed by their generosity and after some persuading was willing to introduce them to the village chieftain.
The chieftain mainly wanted to know why his forest was suddenly much, much smaller. The party’s explanation that it had been dragged into another world wasn’t particularly pleasing to the chief, but it’s not like he had a better one. The chief then explained that normally they would have simply avoided the party but the tribe was being hunted. Something had entered the woods and was stalking and killing their best warriors. If the party could kill it then they would consider them allies.
The hunter as the chief described it was an 8 foot tall humanoid feline like creature. It had samurai like armor, a sword inscribed with glowing red runes, a gun with some small creature trapped in it and could summon different types of magical swords. Not a fun sounding opponent. Anyone familiar with Rifts can guess what they are going after and what it’s armed with for fun.
The lemur that first spoke to them volunteered to come along as a guide. Since he was probably the critter’s next target he figure his best chance of survival was to fight alongside the party. They did radio back to base to let them know what was going on, but so far have decided not to call for backup.

the gods have planted a forest right near our kingdom.queen o-bai asked some of us to go explore it.the forest was full of many strange plants i never saw before.we got lost, but lady wren sensed god-power nearby.we found a strange little altar,so i knelt to the gods there, and lady wren and i offered some nuts and berries on the altar.a little four-legger appeared and was able to ask lady wren to bring us with him.we met with other little four-leggers and their high priest asked us for help against this horrible chaos being which was killing all the brave stallions among the four-leggers.the first four-legger led us to the choas being, and the brave warriors of our kingdom won a terrible and glorious battle.the four-leggers were so happy, and we made good friends with them!and one of their mares is an expert about all the plants of the new forest, and she is going to teach me all about them and how to use them!
later, queen o-bai ordered a store built, just for me to provide herbs to the kingdom!i feel so proud!

i was sleeping, curled up on my two-legger,when she suddenly started meowing real loud!and i wasn't even kneading her!her kittens were coming at last!the other two-legger,the kitten's daddy, started running around shouting, but other, quiet two-leggers came, too.but, then the big, scaly dog came, too!after a long time, and a lot of meowing, the first kitten arrived,a big boy two-legger!i was waiting for the rest of the kittens, but none came.apparently the boy kitten was so big,he was the only kitten my two-legger was having, but she and all the other two-leggers seemed very happy.apparently the big, scaly dog even helped bring the kitten safely.finally, everything quieted down, and both my two-legger and her kitten fell asleep.time for a nice nap.

Pr1357 entry 1: I met up with a group who are helping out survivors that were pushed from their homes by raiders. to bad the raiders followed.
They attacked the night before I got there, took people and left others dead.
I know it’s been a while since I left my body for this knew new one but I'm still a priest so i offered to say a few words for the dead.
Well to get on wit the story one the people helping out, a knight i think judging on the armor, said he was going out to get the captured people back i agreed knowing it wasn't going to be easy.
They had a glitter boy and that needed to go first.
we arrived at the camp and by god’s name they were raping people and I about lost it.
I took aim and fired missiles from my shoulders at that glitter boy.
First set hit ,the others were shot down so I charged in and avoiding a few shots and when I got in to range and hit the glitter boy right inside its boom gun and watched it fly back. (Man that's what you call a boom.)
We finished off most of those godless a**holes but a few got away.
One being a giant and the others being a group of riders who got away with a few slaves.
All in all we saved lots of lives from the torment of slavery one being a little girls mom I promised to get back.
I felt warm when she gave a hug to my steal body and wished it was the old days.

we found a badly-hurt two-legger colt who had run from evil raiders who attacked his village and he had run to us for help.i helped him a little with my herbs, but he will need a lot of help from the two-legger healer.when queen o-bai heard the news, she was very upset, and sent a force to go help the villagers.since the healer had to stay to help the colt,i went to help anybody who might be hurt.i felt so proud!it was cold and lots of snow as we set out,but we found the villagers in a few days.they were hungry and cold.we helped them best we could, and called marshal rob and his men on the gods'voice to rescue them with their gods'carts.but that night,we were attacked!bad two-leggers in flying gods'carts swooped in and grabbed all the pretty mares and fillies.i tried to grab one back, and i hurt her real bad!then i slipped in the snow and almost crushed a poor old stallion!i felt so ashamed!at least i was able to heal them and the other hurt people.we captured the bad flying man,but the dragon got killed!after marshal rob and the others arrived to take care of the people,we set out after the other bad people and their prisoners.

Hey Cap'n. I'm slightly surprised to see the title of this thread. It almost sounds like you're looking forward to greasing some of your player's characters. Judging from your past reaction to playing in the 2006-07 Age of Worms campaign; I had thought that high casualty count games were not to your liking. Did I misjudge your 'fondness for player character carnage' all along, or did the Age of Worms game help "show you the light?" ~KGM

Ryu entry log 1: i have decided to come along on my team's next assignment. i have recently re constructed a power armor an thought this would be a good chance to see what it can really do. at the moment since we have a energy weapons cache, i have attached one f the rifles A.T or Air Treck(see Air Gear if you do not know). But anyways we were dealing with a trading village that got attacked so we were to go and investigate what happened to it. on our way we one the party members Geiger counter went off.Upon my investigation i found a abandoned power armor and clearly better then mine. with a few examinations i radioed back to see if some one could pick it up but seeing i have the only armor that can survive radiation besides the cyborg i had to check it out well.It was in a ditch so i jumped down and start examining it. stupid me forgot to check for traps so when i started messing around with stuff a wire snapped not attached to anything important and i leaped and ducked for cover. well nothing happened so jumped back down and continued what i was doing. Opening the face plate another wire snapped and i ducked for cover again and nothing happened. well to my surprise a not so active fusions explosive was placed in the head removing that and the source that was causing the radiation i got it out of the hole and had the cyborg pick it up. now its time for me to wait as they put the suit in Hastings with i still don't under stand how it speeds up time. *Wanders off contemplating his next project*

My problem with Age of Worms wasn't so much the player charnage as the adversarial style of GMing. I'd probably enjoy it more now then I did then, but I still don't think that style of GMing is to my taste. I've always thought you a good GM, just not one whose style fits what I enjoy.
Rest asured the game continues, but unfortunately my journaling time went the way of the dodo a while back.

Apparently the good Admiral is in the hospital with a blood clot in the heart and some form of diabetis that stops using insulin, cannibalizing body fat instead. Those of us who know him or knew him wish him well in obtaining a speedy recovery from the precipice.
From myself and Missus Turin we wish the good Admiral the best while praying that the powers-that-be are merciful and kind to one who is generous and kind to so many IRL. Whatever this may be.
Missus Admiral, if you read this, we are pulling for you both though you have never met us. The good Admiral has made friends over the years since he was in high school, you may want to reach out to them in these trying times.
Gawdspeed Admiral, Gawdspeed.
Fondest regards,
Turin

Update: So far the good Admiral appears to be stable in a medically-induced coma. (I'm really hoping it is.) They had to transfer him via helicopter from Prince William hospital to Fairfax hospital to improve his still-not-very-good odds of pulling through.
From what I just heard, based on the brain activity machine they have attached, he is able to perceive stimuli, his heart is (slowly) pumping on its own and he is currently on dialysis.

The Admiral Jose Monkamuck |

I am alive. I stopped running games because i went to the hospital with severe pancretitus. At some point it turned into sepsis. After I was in the hospital my heart and lungs shut down. I was in a coma for several months.
I still can't walk, stand or talk well but I plan to run a play by post game on piazo.
