Marc, my only issue with the class is not enough options for Ranger Talents. A 20th level character would have 7 talents to choose but only 9 total options, and if you already have Low-Light Vision and don't want an animal companion to keep track of, you have even fewer options.
that doesnt mean to me that it was poorly designed. But as I have said before, I do think we need more talents

I won't go into all the details but why give him an Additional Animal Companion at level 4 were the ranger’s effective druid level is equal to his ranger level?I would be much more logical do give him the animal companion at level 1.
At level 4 he can choose another Animal companion or let him form a
bond with his hunting companions.
"Additional Animal Companion" also imply you can't have a hunter's bond with his hunting companions AND an animal companion.
The fact that the ranger doesn't have any spell make the animal companion problematic. The ranger can't buff his animal. The ranger should have some SPA.
Also giving the ranger, a full BAB class, sneak attack is a bit über, IMHO.

Also unlike the Paladin, the ranger spells are just iceing on the cake. They have never been that great. Longstrider is nice and Barkskin is great, but what has been removed has been been replaced tenfolded (or even more) and that I don't like.
Giving the ranger acrobatics and removing medium armor prof. is other stuff I don't like. But it was a nice reading. :-)
I could add more thoughts but the APG is soon out so I'm not really that upset ;-)
