It is an 80 year old Speculative Scifi set in Australia. Its about Racism and the tragedies that plague us here and now.
He discovers a Sphere containing the Art, Science, Technology, and History of a 75 million year extinct human race...and a woman in stasis (thanks to their medical knowledge) whom a friend of the hero describes as the sort of woman 'another man would knife you for nothing more than a word from her.'
They soon realize that both she and the knowledge is so significant that nations would go to war to the last man for control of both the archive and the woman. Worse Still - intellectually she is to them a demigod (also thanks to the thousand year Eugenics program of their civilization) but there is another sphere in the world and the man in it is to her as she is to the modern Humans - He would be a God should he wake.
Basically she tells them the tale of her civilization and it is a horror that could just as well be happening here and now in 2010.

Just finished reading the novel.
Holy Crap! I'm Traumatised by what is potentially a better SCI FI Tale than any Movie comming out of Holywood. The Ending...The Bloody Ending. Didnt see that comming at all.
