Support for Fudge based systems

Scarab Sages

I am really only making this post to see if Paizo's forums support Fudge and Fate-like systems that use Fudge dice. It could be really cool to run a Dresden Files PBP.

It appears that it does not support straight fudge dice so I will try d5-d5
1d5 - 1d5 ⇒ (2) - (1) = 1

Scarab Sages

I think it might work. The individual odds are spread out a little but it might be manageable.

Standard fudge dice generates a distribution that looks like
4(1%)
3(5%)
2(13%)
1(19%)
0(24%)
-1(19%)
-2(13%)
-3(5%)
-4(1%)

d5-d5 yeilds
4(4%)
3(8%)
2(12%
1(16%)
0(20%)
-1(16%)
-2(12%)
-3(8%)
-4(4%)

as another alternative, d4-d4 yeilds
3(6.25%)
2(12.5%)
1(18.75%)
0(25%)
-1(18.75%)
-2(12.5%)
-3(6.25%)

A note on the d4-d4, I kind of like the idea of unmodified legendary results being impossible based solely on luck. On the flipside, I also kind of like the idea of miserable failures being impossible without some kind of outside influence.

So what do you guys think? If you were going to participate in a PBP based on the new Dresden Files game or another game based on the Fate or Fudge systems, which die rolling method above seems to be more appropriate? Is there a method I missing that can be used here on the Paizo boards?

Just saw this and it seems pretty simple to me. A fudge dice is basically 1d3 with results shifted down by two.

1d3 - 2 ⇒ (1) - 2 = -1 should be the same as the +1/0/-1 fudge dice. Just multiply by 4 and you get:

4d3 - 8 ⇒ (3, 3, 2, 3) - 8 = 3 which should have the same result range and distribution.
