Welcome to the game! I'm excited to get another one underway.
I'm sure this is old hat, but ability scores will be generated using the elite array. You will have the following scores to assign as you see fit, but with a twist -
8, 10, 12, 13, 14, 15
The twist is that you have one extra point to assign to any score that you wish.
Average gold per starting class will be used to determine starting equipment
Traits from the CotCT Player's Guide are encouraged, but not required. The campaign will begin play in Korvosa, and I think everyone understands the motivation required to get the ball rolling here. If you don't, either check out the Player's Guide or ask me!
The last thing I ask is that you give a heads up of how often you can post or times where you know posting will be impossible. That way, we'll know to either run your character for you, or at least not expect posts during said times. Also, letting us know in this thread if you'll be unable to post for a couple days or whatnot is much appreciated.
Otherwise, I think that's it. If I left something out, please ask! We can get started hopefully this weekend or early next week which should give everyone plenty of time to get their characters put together.
And away we go...

Just having finished my internship as a teacher, I should be available to post daily. Mechanically, Tosk's numbers should be functional. Let me know if you find something wrong with them.
I'd also like to take the opportunity to reiterate the notable characters from Tosk's story are yours to control if you so desire. I've come into the situation in the past where DMs don't touch them, thinking it's taboo? However, they are characters in your world. Generally, I've found DM interation with such story elements to make for a more invigorating storyline (and in the DM seat, my players have said the same). The final authority, rests with you of course, but those figures are certainly available for you use.
Looking forward to an excellent game!

Hooray! I'm so happy to be a part of this. I've really enjoyed reading the almost literary style that PbP incorporates, and as an aspiring author I think playing in one will go a long way toward honing my skills. I'll have Lily statted up by this evening, but it may take me a little while longer to get things formatted the way I'd like in the profile page.
As far as posting, I have an Android device which handles the forums with no problems, so they are with me wherever I go, and I have a very boring job for now (resource management at a big company) and open internet to boot, so I should be very active during daylight hours as well as at night. You will probably have to beat me away from the thread with a mace, to be honest.
I'm a PbP novice but longtime RP'er, so any tips on a consistant format for posts would be a great help. Dialogue in bold, OOC in italics, or how does that work best for everyone?
J
P.S. Thanks, Sully!

That's great Tosk! I'm with you on that. I'll incorporate your cast of characters as best I can. Glad it's not a sacred cow for you, so to speak.

Thrilled to have you and Tosk both aboard. Format however is most comfortable for you. Some people bold text, italicize character's thoughts etc.
It's up to you. Basically just write in present tense and as much or as little as you are comfortable with. I'm looking forward to seeing Lily finished.

Cardon's ready, I guess. I'm having a spot of trouble finding his 'voice' at the moment, so I'm going to take him over to Limbo for a test drive.
But I'm ready to start whenever you all are.

Sully,
Thanks for the kind words, you are more than welcome to look in.
I would be happy for any advice you might have, but I will be playing on another site, which has better support for maps and things I think.
I would prefer to do it here, but in the few games I've played so far, I've not seen anything that good for mapping combat and other aids.
Any pointers would be helpful.
Good Luck with this, you know where to find a cleric if you need one.
Cheers,
Deevor (aka Parneth) (aka Paul)
P.S. Sorry to butt in on you guys, carry on having fun now.

Alas, work has kept me late, and as I have a graduation to be at bright and early, unfortunately I won't have time to finish the first post tonight. Look for it late evening tomorrow! I'll post a link in this thread so you don't miss it.
Have a great Friday night!
No worries, Sully, hope you enjoy yourself!

Sully, for purposes of determining what Lily's doing in combat if for some reason you want to move things along and I don't get a post in quickly (not that I anticipate that happening too much, but...):
Lily will attack targets that are not threatened in Melee as long as such targets exist and she has a decent line of sight to them. If all targets are engaged in Melee, she will engage in melee using her Greatsword. She tries to avoid firing into melee, as she is not trained to do so, and would prefer going toe-to-toe with opponents alongside her companions if it comes to that.

I will be seeing Iron Man tonight, so I'll be out of commission for about 3 hours. Assume that I agree with whatever way the party decides to go, and feel free to take actions as described above.
Ah, the second one sucked a bit I felt. Let me know what you think of it. The constant talking-over-each-other in the first half of the film really garbled it for me :S

The Party Pot is available here.
I didn't mind the movie, although I have to say, the way they made the suit look and the fact that Downey plays Stark combined means that they could probably make a complete turd of a movie and I'd still love it. Ol' Shell-head was my favorite Marvel character since childhood - I was ALWAYS the only kid who would name him as my favorite. I can't believe how great the suit looks and I love Downey as Stark, so it's been pretty much a dream come true to see both of these movies.
It wasn't as good as the first one, I'll give you that, but I liked it quite a lot regardless. I am less than sold on Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury - the jury's still very much out on that for me.

I can agree on that front. I didn't actually read the comics, so I don't know who Nick Fury is; but I felt Sam. L. J was terrible for this film...

I hope nobody minds Cardon's colourful use of automatic-failure arcane spells. I promise to never have him do it if it actually jeapordizes the party's actions. He's had his wizard training, but he just can't quite get things to work when the pressure's on. The theory is, though, that he doesn't know he doesn't have a level in wizard yet, so he thinks its still a viable strategy. His next level will be wizard, so he'll soon get the hang of things.

Sully, no big deal about the slow posting, life happens. Don't want you to think I'm sitting over here mad at you, lol!! DM posts are much longer and more involved than PC posts, it's not like you can just quickly bang something out like we can. So seriously, it's cool. And if you overextended yourself by starting this second game, that's fine to say too, I for one won't be p/o'ed.
[/blackmail] You can totally make it up to me by letting me replace Rani in your Kingmaker game, either way. [/blackmail]
c wat I did thar?

So, I think we might be dead, here - if any of you'z get an open slot in one of your other games, I'm really trying to find a place to play.

Keep your eyes open, I might try and start something else up or one of us may take over the Kingmaker game.
