Ordagg steps up to the thorn-creature and delivers a cringing blow that sends its head clean off its neck, sending black ichor everywhere, while the headless body wriggles and twitches to the ground.

Ordagg: SWEET! The thorn-creature goes down like a chump. Kaput.

The remaining thorn-creature comes dashing out of the thorn bushes, firing off another ball of lightning at Sturdy, catching the battered goliath in the chest and nearly felling him...nearly.

A cloud of cold manifests around the remaining and untouched (until now) thorn-creature, engulfing it in frost and slowing it's ability to attack. It howls in frustration as it attempts to shake off the ice, but to no avail.

Ordagg walks up to the creature and begins to chant dangerously close to it. Move to M5, gaining concealment and provoke by using a ranged power.
Ordagg speaks what sound like nonsense words and his voice takes on an otherworldly bass. The air above the last plant creature tears open and acidic droplets fall.
Mordant Rain of Dis vs. V1's Reflex (includes prime shot and penalty): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (12) + 11 = 232d6 + 9 ⇒ (6, 5) + 9 = 20 acid damage and V1 is blind until the end of my next turn.

The acidic droplets sizzle and burn the thorn-creature, causing its plant-like body to smoke and writhe in pain. The creature then shifts away and claws at Sturdy as it moves, narrowly missing the badly wounded goliath.

Apparently I did too :)

The combination of earth spikes and the despair from it's perceived ineptness at pollination, brought on by Ottarr, turns deadly for creature as it falls to floor. It rasps something unintelligible before it lays still forever...

You find yourselves now standing in shadow of the Tree of Life, which by all accounts appears to still be dead...with no sign of Ouda what so ever. Near the corrupt area you see Rin's pebble giving off its light, but nothing else seems to stir in the forest...

Good job, you all pulled it together pretty well. Let me know how you'd like to proceed.

Upon searching the skeletal remains of the armored warrior, you find what appears to be a bastard sword lying next to him. The weapon appears to be well made, although you can't tell much more then that. The Tree of Life is somewhat morbid looking, with its dead, dried out husk and leafless branches that hang oppressivly over the clearing surrounding it. As you move closer to the entrance, you hear nothing but the faint sound of the wind passing through the narrow entranceway that spirals down into the heart of the tree...

You find a magical bastard sword. Upon closer inspection you see the following name carved into it's blade in Elven: "Sanguine"; followed by "With your blood, wither your foes”.

Sifting thru the mossy body of the beast, you find a few rocks, vines, thorn bushes, skulls, and a strangely intact, rope that seems to radiate some magic...

Rin: Unfortunately you're unable to tell what the items do, but by using the sword or playing with the rope you can figure it out that way. After a day you can try another Arcana check to retry it.

The path into the Tree of Life winds down in a spiral, its interior a mixture of tree bark, roots, and dirt; it narrows uncomfortably tight, as you continue to descend around 15 ft when you hear a faint but steady, low thumping sound reverberating throughout the passageway. The air smells of decay and the extent of your light source reaches its limit, but Ordagg's sunrod illuminates the path forward.

Everyone: What's your marching order down in here?

Ordagg: In this instance it's more about the amount of noise you make, plus the corridor spirals downward so as far as you can see it won't project the light too far down the tunnel...but perhaps I've said too much...

Everyone: I take it the order will be Sturdy, Ordagg, Rin, and Ottarr.

As you travel deeper down the spiralling passageway into the heart of the Tree, the echoing thumping sounds growing stronger and stronger till you reach the bottom. Before you lies the source of the corruption and sound resonating throughout the winding passageway. Beyond the jungle of roots and vines that erupts from the ceiling of this cavern, you see what appears to be a diseased and sickly-looking, beating heart; while a black, thick liquid drooling out of the various arteries fills the bottom of the cavern floor to a depth that you cannot tell. The heartbeat is powerful; its pulse causing ripples in the thick liquid, passing thru your bodies and encompassing the entire room, leaving you feeling slightly disoriented and nauseous.

Sturdy and Ordagg:

Before you enter the chamber, give me a Perception Check.

Everyone: Upon entering the room, give me a Perception Check.

Triangles: Indicate Difficult Terrain, which is deeper murk.
Light Source: Thanks to Ordaggs sun rod, anyone with Low light vision can see normally, and those with normal vision can see to the extent of his sun rod.

Ordagg: Whats the light range on the sun rod?
