Liberty's Edge

Yeah, man; you know the link? I'll check it out, warm up with a computer maybe...

Me and my objective views will now retreat to a safe distance before the time honoured tradition of "lynching" begins...

PS: Will Paizo be selling Jenny's? If so, anyone know of the release date?

I used to enter through www.alleykatzden.com but it seems to be slow in loading. Maybe it's gone.

You could go in through http://games.yahoo.com/. Check it out and we'll have a game sometime this week?

Hi Jenny,

Good to have you on board. Have fun and play nice.

(messing with Sebastian is OK, though)

Oh I'm watchin!

Just figured I'd check in between beers and commercials. I have to get my brain wrapped around a tie game with 28 seconds left.

It's so lonely being the Canadian who doesn't like hockey. ...
That's not a treasonable offense is it? Sorry, I don't know much about Canadian law.

That's like not liking football in Texas!

Did somebody suggest a range of "Babes of Paizo" miniatures? o.O

No, but a calendar has been suggested.

Spoiler:
You know, while "babe" is usually used to describe a woman who has selected the "sexually attractive" social trait, I have heard it used to describe men who have that trait also. ;D

I can feel your pain - its pretty much the same in Germany when you don´t care much for soccer. Ok, the World Championship four years ago was a cool party, I have to admit, but overall, it does not matter at all to me.

How about an American male who doesn't care about football?

Spoiler:
... and who thinks that we need a better word for citizens of the United States then "American" since that word could also correctly apply to people from a couple of dozen countries on two continents

Yeah, I guess american is pretty much used to describe anything and everything US-American nowadays. Otherwise, you say Canadian, Mexican etc. If you would ask somebody over here in Germany: Who is the American president? The answer would be Obama from I guess 95+ percent, with the others who ask what part of America is meant, being percieved as being nitpicky. This is similar to what happened to some very popular products - most people think of Coca-Cola if coke is mentioned.

What's sad is if you asked Americans who is the German chancellor, your answers would be something like:

60% Don't know
12% Isn't it that Blair guy?
10% Wait, Germany's in Europe, right?
8% Are you talking about Germantown, Pennsylvania?
8% Oh man, I'm still hung over from the last Oktoberfest.
2% Angela Merkel

(That's not a reflection of Germany in anyway, just that Americans are sorely lacking in knowledge of geography and other nations' leaders.)

Looks like a good backstory indeed. The little side story about the Desna/Calistria coin could be a springboard to all kinds of plot hooks in Nik's future.

I love the idea about the boat races - I keep thinking of a Mediterranean style regatta, with all kinds of magical 'tweaks' to make it even more challenging!

Glad you're enjoying the process, Jenny. Have fun in the PBP when it starts :)

Well, as an non-deployed airman (althought I'll be heading out in October) I'd like to echo the sentiment. Jenny may not be my type (I prefer brunettes, and a more natural look), but she's still fun to look at.

And good luck to you, Mulban. Keep your head (and ass) down.

You would get a small percentage that would say

It's good to see that our little community has such an open mind.

I think that the 30+ years of "cheese-cake" photos/art of the fantasy genre has hardened most gamers to accept images such as Jenny posted (not that we don't still stare of course). That and I think a certain level of respect, Jenny has a great body, she likes to show it off, I can respect that. With the exception of the picture with the disabled link Jenny hasn't presented anything (sans sword/axe and blue paint/armour) that can't be seen in numerous places - level of clothing I mean).

Given the level of effort Jenny puts into her character development (concept) I'd gladly swap her for two of my current players (yes even if she was a he and 67 years old). Jenny has the "new player" approach to making a character rather than the jaded "mechanist" approach. Refreshing for a DM to see this.

S.

PS: Quick quiz.... You is a Prime Minister of New Zealand and which political party are they from?

I agree, she seems to really get into her characters and put a lot of effort into them. I would gladly swap... well pretty much any 2 of my current group but 1 guy for her. :)

ThanX Stefan and Dark Mistress (cool name btw! and yummy too!)
4 the nice words! :-)
for me making the story and concept is wat makes it all fun!
also a lot of credit goes 2 some great people i know
like the races concept comes from this professor friend of mine who told me about Bizantium and how the chariot races there were sooo important! the colors is actualli a total rip off from that!
he even came up with the name of my character (Nicophera - the bringer of victory)

on a FUN note I just got a mess from THE Larry Elmore

that just CANT be a coincidence does he come to this forum sometimes?

Stefan Hill wrote:

That's a trick question! Everyone knows Viggo Mortensen became king at the end of Peter Jackson's movies. ;D

Jenny: That sounds like a more well-developed character concept than what I've gotten from 90% of my players over the years. The refinements you made from your initial idea are not only cooler, but bely a willingness to respect the comfort levels of the other players while you're all still getting to know one another. You've also given the DM a lot of flexible details to build off of without trying to shoe-horn them into anything.

If one of my players presented me with your idea, I'd be stoked!

Enjoy the game.

Hey, no problem. While I might enjoy modeling for my artist friends as an occasional hobby, I have a few friends who do so as part of their living, so it made sense. Life is all about luck and contacts, right? ;)

Just had a read over it and its very well done. Better than I ever did by far with my first few characters, hell Id say its better than some of the back stories Ive come up with lately. As has been said, you have left your DM a lot of possible plot hooks for him to use for your character in the adventure, and I thought the lucky coin was a really cool idea. Color me impressed :)
