Before anyone posts on this, I'm aware that two, three if you count Mazes and Monsters (*gags loudly*), Dungeons and Dragons films have been made and that they suck, badly.
As a side note, FOX had a, if you can believe it, Vampire the Masquerade TV show back in 1996, but due to plot confusion to non-gamers and other factors, the show ended after only eight episodes. Ouch. (Sci-Fi shows it every so often, or you can buy it on DVD.)
However, considering all the RPGs out there, I can easily see another film that is based on one of them coming to light some time later. However, instead of non-gaming script writers, the publisher's writers should be the ones that write the script for such a thing, since they know how to present their work best.
Of all the companies I know, White Wolf's World of Darkness series, old or new, would be my top pick. Werewolf, my personal favorite, Hunter, Mage, and Geist are the four I'd want to see.
Potential others -
Midnight: Second Edition - Think Lord of The Rings, except this story begins after Sauron wins in the end.
Unknown Armies - In this game, your characters deal with the weirdness and realization of magic in a modern day setting.
Call of Cthulhu - Need I say it? H.P. Lovecraft's monsters and stories started horror fiction.
Agree? Disagree? Have another idea? Say so.

Unfortunately, there is another. Animated, but just as bad.
There was also a Cthulhu movie. From what I heard, it was a departure from the original.

1) There is a movie based on Midnight, which was supposed to be a series pilot; my son and I watch it semi-frequently, it's pretty good for the budget it was shot on. I'd sign up for a sequel, for sure.
2) Another factor in the demise of Kindred:The Embraced was the death of the actor who played the Prince of the City; between the feelings of cast and crew, as well as how the show revolved around him, also caused the show to stop being shot. I think that after 15 years, we could revisit the World of Darkness, either version (there was some legal dispute when "Underworld" first came out about copywrite infringement, though I don't know how that case was finalized)
3) I'm looking forward to the proposed "Rifts" movie, should it get past the planning/screenwriting phase. Done well, it's got blockbuster potential written all over it. ("Nightbane" also has good movie potential)
4) As there is a play production based on Pathfinder, if the creative team behind the product was involved with the story, it could be done ... uniquely over-the-top in a "Lord of the Rings" kind of way, not a "Bruce Payne has purple lipstick" kind of way. :D

A Golarion movie would probobly never see the light of day...
BUT we can dream.
For Seltyiel its got to be Paul Bettany.
For Lem it could be Simon Pegg after some digital work to make him halfling sized.
I keep thinking of Zoe Saldana for Seelah, but if they got Iman for her role, then her hubby David Bowie could do some of the musical score for movie. Or at the very least play the Goblin King.
I think Valeros would be great if he could be played by Aragorn. Not Viggo Mortensen, but by the actual Aragorn.
I miss Peter Cushing, he could have done (in)justice as Karzoug the Claimer.
For Ezren it would be either Sean Connery or Josh Frost.
For Seoni its a toss up between Marissa Miller or my ex.
For Merisiel I humbly submit my current gal. : )
And because the fans demanded it, SKR and Nicolas Louge as Sajan and Harsk respectively !!

Top Secret/S.I. had a few settings. Which one?
My candidates start with the game settings that evoke agenre convincingly but don't ape a particular product that already exists in some medium. (So, I write out Call of Ch'thulhu immediately, along with Marvel Superheroes, Star Wars, and Song of Ice and Fire.
I don't think the strengths of the Traveller campaign setting would translate to the big screen. It would feel like Dune.
7th Sea might be fun. But there are a lot of odd niggling bits of backstory, and no obvious central conflict.
Of a the World of Darkness bits, the old Werewolf or Changeling campaign backgrounds would be easiest to translate onto the movie screen. I imagine that Changeling is the movie that Terry Gilliam keeps trying to make.
And any of the Dream Pod 9 games: Heavy Gear, Tribe 8, or Jovian Chronicles would do nicely. The company set them up to have a cinematic feel, with great characters, the constant promise of dramatic action, and sweeping plots. Tribe 8 might take a little too long to explain enough of the post-apocalyptic backstory.

Arkham House (I think) did a silent, black and white Call of Cthulhu which I thought stuck very close to the original story.
Actually, that was the H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society. Damn fine film. I still wish someone would make a color, talkie, big budget version. It would be amazingly easy to transition the story to a contemporary setting...absolutely nothing about it requires (or even is improved by) setting it in the 1920s.
It kind of boggles my mind that del Toro wants to film At the Mountains of Madness instead of a Call of Cthulhu movie. At the Mountains of Madness is practically unfilmable as written.

I think I saw them selling it on their website, Fantasy Flight games. I didn't pay too much attention since I just visit their site for stuff on Dark Heresy and Rogue Trader.

AMBER: albeit you could say it was a movie based on the books and not the diceless RPG. Lots of potential.
RIFTs: a relentless amount of imagery, characters, plots that could be tapped. I loved the early Dead Boy armor, as well as the phase world ship art!
PARANOIA: sounds like a sweet game to play for fun, I am sure a nail biting comedy/action/thriller could be made from it.
EXULTED: High fantasy combined with anime style combat. Sort of akin to Ninja Scroll.
Call of Chthulu: would be awesome! If done good enough so that your hairs stood on the back of your neck!

Top Secret/S.I. had a few settings. Which one?
The only one that I really enjoyed was the ORION/WEB conflict so that's the route I would go. I did want to try Agent 13 but I couldn't convince one of my players to try it.
I do think that the ORION/WEB conflict needed far more published material than it had however, so a do over on the setting would be good.
I do think it would translate well into a movie, using the Ace of Clubs as their training location (Ace of Clubs module being taken from the original Top Secret game. I think if a script was written it would be pretty easy to turn it into a fairly serious movie. Though I can see someone crying foul because it might come across as a James Bond rip-off.

I've never played it, but Asylum seems like it would make a fun movie.
I agree that a Shadowrun film has some potential to be a moderate success if somebody like Guillermo del Toro directed it.
Little Fears would also make a really good fantasy/horror film.

More likely, a "Man from U.N.C.L.E." or "S.H.I.E.L.D." rip-off.

Dan Abnett is writing and they are using the existing vast art resources as a basis for the film, so I'm pretty hopeful about it being a faithful adaptation.
My scepticism comes from the fact that the WH40K universe is unrelentingly dark and grim and a big-budget film is totally unmarketable in Hollywood terms. I know the Ultramarines film is supposed to be mid-budget and independently funded, but without Hollywood's resources I have a hard time believing they'd be able to give this story the backing it needs.

I actually don't know to much about their of those. Never watched either. How do they differ from the ORION/WEB or James Bond?

The movie based on Mutant Chronicles was not terrible. It wasn't great and the CGI often looked extra fake, but it wasn't an awful movie. I expect anything based on 40k to have a similiar look.

Valeros should be Jason Statham IMO. Or Matthew McConaughey, both great eye-candy to draw in some female viewers and both buff as hell and ready for action roles.

I would love to see Shadowrun or Deadlands. Both were some of the first RPG settings I encountered and I would love to see them on the big screen. If done right, I think both could be frickin cool. And if they made a Deadlands movie it would need to star Bruce Campbell :)
| Twin Dragons |
I'd be all up for an Eberron movie (even if it would be a plug for 4E, which I don't like).
A Dragon*Star movie would be awesome!
A Traveller movie could be really cool!
Dark Matter would proabaly be a bit of a rip on the X-Files, but I'd dig it anyway.
A Ptolus movie would send me into the stratosphere!
And a Pathfinder (Golarion) movie would have me seeing stars!

I bought my DVD here from Paizo; just go under "DVDs" and "Fantasy Flight Games", and the Team here have copies. It also comes with a 4ed conversion adventure as a bonus (though I have not checked that out yet).

Having seen movies like it in the past; I think Shadowrun would be really hard to make and not look totally cheesy. It is a fun game; but would be really had to bring across in film. It would be all dark and shadowy.
Rifts might be to expensive to make; but I think we all want to see a Death's Head Transport; some Dog Boys; some of those Atlantean kick butt blind girls. This movie could have vamps; all sorts of D-bees; mega machines and robots. All you need is a good story and the game has the stuff that is all so visually appealing.
Who doesnt want to see a human in some titanic robot battle some megabeast.

I haven't seen the Mutant Chronicles movie as of yet, but I heard it wasn't that bad. If you can find the trilogy of novels set in the MC universe, you can find lots of happiness.
I would love to see the Second Darkness written into a movie. Yeah, we're playing the SD at the moment, and to me, the fun for us is trying to implicate Saul for being the prick that he really is. I know, there are about five more books after which, but this AP has some excellent moments and characterizations.
Coming to think of it, I would LOVE to see P Jackson direct the Curse of the Crimson Throne.
But if any one of you pukes says anything about a Uwe or a Boll, and couples one or both words into a "he should make another movie" I pray you never roll a confirmed critical hit again.
