Uh, preorder, expected December 2012?? Is that a misprint? What, are they waiting for the technology to make holographic maps at your game table?
We take our dates from our distributor's database, and sometimes, for reasons that are unclear to us, they set the date for some products that don't have real data as 12/12/12. We filter those out—but for some even less clear reason, they seem to have set this one as 12/31/12. I've deleted it for now (but it might come back).

They are just very prepared. They know that making a new Spinward Marches setup is time consuming and if the Mayans are right, is it really worth working that hard?

Thanks, Vic! Though I didn't mean to make you work on New Year's Day answering my stupid question. It is useful to know for the future, however, when making a purchase decision. On Mongoose's site, it looks like they are releasing this January 2010.
