Morning all. It's a glorious day!
Rienzi isn't performed much anymore. Where are they producing it?
Sadly, it's not a stage production, just a concert featuring the overture. It is being played by (of all things) a local community college combined orchestra. We seem to do a Wagner piece once every couple of years or so. Last time it was Elsa's Procession to the Cathedral.
The world needs more opera.

I'm ok with Wagner.

You're telling this to the guy who was just in La Traviata in January :)

True. Well, maybe I'll be glad I got my post in early :)

And La Traviata, CH??? Woot! \M/ Doing what?
I was in the chorus for that one. The last role I did was a smallish part in Aaron Copland's The Tender Land.

Btw, when did Jon Stewart become a news anchor? I thought he was a comedian. Xpltvdeleted is clearly not living in our reality.

In seriousness, though, it's fine to hear something on his show and say, "wow, I didn't know that", but if you want to bring it up as fact, verify it and provide an actual source.

Ugh. I don't even want to think about that.

I like spiders. We get on quite well. I leave them alone and they kill the bugs I don't like. It works. I'm not the slightest bit afraid of or creeped out by spiders.

True enough, but I don't like the black widows or brown recluse spiders that hang around here

I don't know if you have Water roaches up north but we have them in Texas. Those things are several inches long and armored. You can step on them and they'll waddle along like nothing happened. :)
Nothing compared to what we have in NY. The roaches here do nothing but eat, grow and breed, waiting patiently for the nuclear bomb that turns us into their food to "accidentally" explode.

She's the kind of person who would plan a campaign where all the bad guys are Formians now, isn't she. ;)

Awright folks, I am off for now. This weekend promises to be harrying, with me having to do not one, not two but THREE shifts on the second job, all on the same day- Saturday. Did I mention this is the same day that I have to take my mom and cousins and wife out for a family lunch celebrating her birthday and a late x-mas present? AND that I'm running a much-delayed GIRLS ONLY Darklight Sisterhood game on Sunday? Have I bitten off more than I can chew? Or am I framing my greatest escapade EVAR as I come out smelling like roses? Keep your fingers crossed for FreeholdDM, folks.

Riley turns two on Sunday. We had kinda thought that a big party would be a waste of money for him since he is so young and still not sure whats going on. So..now I am feeling bad and want to do SOMETHING. Do you guys think that taking him and his siblings and a friend of mine and her two kids to a light dinner with cake and build-a-bear is a good idea?

He'll think it's huge.

Cool, thanks guys. I am just feeling a lil badly for waiting so long to decide to do something. We usually do big parties out somewhere. We did the bouncy house for Arden and MazeMania for Kellen. But he is just so young. My friend is excited about it, her kids are 9 and 1. So close to my kids ages. Now to run it by hubby. :)

I can't believe he is going to be two. I remember finding out I was pregnant. Man I took that test like three different times. lol! I wish the time hadn't gone so quickly. I loved being pregnant and he was such a sweet baby. I miss that. He is fully into the terrible two's, more so than my other two were. But then, he is learning from them now. :)
