Question about druids - healing plants

Rules Questions

Any reason why a Druid couldn't use his various healing spells to heal plant life? Any rules on that? I guess it is mainly a RP function, but it would be cool to have an Orison so a Druid could restore an area smashed by recent combat. Would probably irritate the rest of the party who might wish that the Druid would not waste his orison's on plants. ;)

Although there is no longer a zero level spell that heals living creatures for actual hit points, since plants are alive any healing spell would heal them as long as they were not dead. This would include the new channel energy features or any mass healing spells, you may want to consider grass and other smaller plants as swarms, then any healing spell would heal the plant life, although asking the cleric to heal all the trampled grass with a channel would also lead to a very good RP as well :D

That is awesome! =)

I think it's awesome too.

On the other hand, I think according to the way the cleric's channel ability works, every time he heals his comrades with a channel, he must also heal all the damaged plants in the area, and has no choice in the matter.

Weird, I never thought of that.

I actually think it creates a nice image. The cleric hold forth his holy symbol and calls upon his deity's favor, and the world within 30 feet of him blossoms with color and life.

Alternately, on the Plane of Shadow, the entire landscape seems to writhe and withdraw from the cleric.

And an evil cleric causes the world to shrivel and die around him when he channels making him seem really creepy/evil!

hmmmm sounds a lot like Defilers from dark sun. Didn't paizo do the 3.5 darksun conversion?
