For those of you who follow the international news, you may have heard of the recent flooding that has occurred in the Philippines, which as of last count has claimed the lives of over a hundred people (men, women, old, young) and rendering thousands homeless.
Flood waters which reached up to the ceiling of the first floor of our house and took out most of my game books but we are safe. All things considered, it seemed like a fair trade, don't you agree?

Hey man, I don't have a crazy huge library, but have been thinking about lightening my load recently. If there's anything on your list that you really hated seeing go, shoot me an email and I might be able to hook you up.
Plus I have several spare Dragon Magazines and a few Dungeon Magazine. I too would be willing to ship them your way.

Or post it here, and I'm sure you'll get plenty of folks willing to help out. I know I will.

Glad you're all safe, but are you amongst the homeless, or is the house still structurally okay?

Make sure you stay safe, I know with flooding that severe casualties can happen even after the initial flooding (including building collapses etc.) I can spare some of my 3.5 stuff, considering I was upset when my pathfinder #1 got damaged during tropical storm fey, I can only begin to imagine what it would be like to loose your house and most of your gaming material so I'll gladly part with some of my books.

Have not been able to assess yet the extent of the loss as most of the first floor is still under a lot of mud.

Well, having dealt with complete flooding of my grandmothers house during TS fay I can tell you some things to expect, the framework may be structurally sound, and thus you won't loose the house, but you'll need to tear out all the drywall, insulation, and most likely flooring on your first floor, spray the wood frame to kill the mold, all the furniture and fixtures that aren't made of metal alone will need to be replaced, I'm not gonna lie or sugar coat it, you have a hell of a lot to deal with even after you get the mud out. I wish you the best of luck, but don't worry, your loved ones are safe that's all that matters. It may have taken a year and a half but my grandma's home is back to normal now and in fact better than before. So good luck, keep faith, and just look to your family when things get seriously stressful and remember what could have happened and things won't seem as bad.

And to think we're almost finished cleaning up and this thing comes along....
That does not look at all good ... combined rainfall and REALLY high-strength winds (175 - 210 kph?!) from such a monstrosity ...
Radavel, we hope that you, your family and your community make it through this storm alive and well!

Okay Rad, that does suck, stay safe and secure, does your area have storm shelters like FL does, all I could think of when reading this was a few years back when FL got hit with 3 hurricanes in a year, I pray that you don't get the storm and that if you do it doesn't cause any more destruction. But the most important thing is that you and yours stay in a safe secure building.
I'm just worried cause it sounds like any building that would have been squat and sturdy enough to deal with this storm is underwater from the last storm. But I'm sure there's somewhere safe you can go, like the mainland :), sorry if it's too soon for humor, I hope it isn't, humor is how I deal with crappyness.
