<Shakes fist at UPS>
Damn you and your reliable deliveries!
Knowing my luck, though, my USPS mail delivery person would have dropped the book in a puddle, then folded the book in half to cram it into my mailbox.
Edit: Just read Andrew Betts' post. My delivery was "rescheduled" for the 13th. Sorry to hear yours is going to be a day late.

I'm sure you'll get it soon Taig! If it makes you feel better, I've gotten things early from UPS... occasionally...
Still waiting here.. for those wanting the stats, 27 posters have indicated arrival, throughout the U.S., 1-2 in UK, 1 in Germany.
Most importantly (to me), 1 in TX... so maybe Dallas got there's today, and I'll get mine tomorrow.. *fingers crossed*
If it does come I'll be useless at work on Wednesday

I'm taking some comp time at the end of the week, thanks to a recent 80-hour work week. I've already told my wife that I will be indisposed when the book arrives.
I hope you get your book early, Majuba!

Sadly, no. You are the weakest link ; )
Seriously, I'm glad they packed it with the foam. Pretty much everything I get is manhandled. Recently UPS decided to drop the a $35 book on it's bottom edge (same thing happened to my 5ER Hero). Fortunately, the issue is usually a slightly dinged corner that can be weighted to conform.

Pathfinder has landed in Warren Michigan! The book is beautiful and well worth the wait. Nice job to everyone at Paizo for everything you've done to pull this thing together.

Excitement, happiness, well wishes and "hooray!'s" to all those lucky ducks who have recieved their copy. Seeing how excited you are after getting your books is fueling my delicious anticipation.
(I'm hoping mine will come tomorrow, but it will probably be Wednesday or Thursday. I'm gonna be uselss at work until then.)

Funny thing. Some packing peanuts these days are biodegradable. They achieve this by being made from things like corn starch. Specifically, the corn starch ones taste like really stale cheeseless cheetos.

This has lead me to a bad habit. I've taken to giving packing peanuts a lick to see if they disolve. :D

Curses!
I've been bugging my girlfriend to try and keep an eye out for it. She said there was a 'sorry we missed you, its at the post office' type of note in the mailbox. I am in the office through all the hours the post office is open and have a 40+ minute commute, so that means either I have to wait til saturday, or I am taking an extra long lunch. Well I guess the choice is clear.
You think that's bad? Around here, if you're not there, you have to wait until the next day until you can pick something up. And the store that plays post office in our town is open at wednesday afternoons. Last time I got a "come and get it" mail, I had to wait until thursday.
Luckily, they leave packages in front of my flat door.

Book arrived Baton Rouge, LA today via post office. Found it waiting on the doorstep after work. Sounds like the book has been arriving early for most of the continental US. Any sign yet for anyone in the Great White North? Overseas perhaps? Keeping my fingers crossed for y'all!
I can tell you this afternoon.

Is glue getting too expensive? Frogs unavailable? Kids these days.
How's the high you get from licking packing material, anyway? :P

The glue and frogs just don't do it for me anymore. The kids next door told me that packing peanuts was where it was at.
They lied...

Aahh I think I saw you on YouTube 'cos those kids videoed it!

Well, I guess you forgot to mention that you want the "good" packing material.
You have to mention that.
Oh, and be sure to add "my regards to Ike the Mike" on the comment. That will get you fixed up.
You didn't hear that from me.

Do you lick the packing peanuts or do you burn them and huff the fumes? Perhaps you were under informed.

We survived the weekend, but it was back down to the dungeon today.
Hey, if you pick up some good treasure...
Oh, that's not the kind of dungeon you meant.
(Everyone who reads this is going to groan "Oh, that's the first time I heard THAT one." Sorry, but someone had to say it.)
By the way, has anyone played, from Dungeon magazine #41, "Old Man Katan and the Incredible, Edible, Dancing Mushroom Band?"

It's funny because it's true.

I just got my copy also! (Chicago burbs if anyone's tracking what locations are getting them today.)
Paizo - you rock - I was concerned that I wouldn't get the book before heading off to Gen Con! Now to go read it.
Got mine this morning! I was also worried it wouldn't come before I catch my flight to Gen Con tomorrow...
Lovely well made book....put it away in my bag because I need to focus on work for the next five hours or so...curses!

IIRC, staff slings were around in 1e, before Dragonlance ever came out.
Still waiting on mine but I will be surprised if I get it before next week. Paizo stuff always seems to take forever to get to me.

Coridan wrote:IT'S HERE!Just a note on Why it's there. Last Thursday we're at the office late - like 10:00 late - finishing up the dark ones' cave in James's Sandpoint game, when Jeff, Cosmo, Vic, and Lisa come on up. They'd been in the warehouse all evening packing boxes of the PFRPG. And then turned around the next day and joined Jeff S., Alison, and Brock the next day to do it some more! So yeah, there's a pretty good chance that if you have your now, it was packed by the owners/managers of the company way past their bedtimes. Just throwing that out there! It's really exciting that folks are getting this now - somehow that helps make the last months of work all real.
Wow....amazing....
Thank you - very cool of you all....

We survived the weekend, but it was back down to the dungeon today. The end is in sight. I believe that there is a good chance that all the books will be out the door tomorrow, as scheduled. It hasn't been fun or easy, but at least it is almost done.

Good to hear....again, thanks very cool of you all to move copies out the door as soon as you could. I subscribe so I knew I could use the PDF to convert my character for the Society games I hope to play at Gen Con. But it is sweet to have a hard copy I can read on the flight over.
Thanks!
Ed

Mine is scheduled to arrive the 24th-26th of August from Amazon. I just checked and hopefully that'll hold...
In any case I'll be ordering the PDF from Paizo Thursday if their servers don't melt down...

Firstbourne |

I wish Paizo would have told us that "those who pre-order directly from us will have a better chance of getting their book than those that buy from other places".
I have seen people on this thread say Amazon is October or November and that their LGS isn't sure when the shipment is coming... I ordered mine through a book distributor (NACS) and they said that "as of today, their records from the publisher show the book shipping in late August".
I'm trying really hard not to be angry - but had I had all the information from the start, I could have made a better decision.

The modest folks at Paizo did not expect the game to sell out. They thought they had enough books to last through the end of the year, in which case Amazon and other retailers would have had plenty to meet their requierments. What you're saying is that you want to be mad at Paizo for making a highly popular product?
C'mon, a little grace.

Actually it has to do with release days (litterally) in the book trade being Tuesdays. Tuesday the 19th is the next Tuesday after Paizo's hobby release day of Thursday the 13th. Add in typical Amazon shipping time and you get an arrival date of late August. Mine, for example, gives an arrival time of the 24th - 26th. It's the price you pay for getting that Amazon price.
*edit* I believe someone from Paizo explained that in another thread at some point btw.

Firstbourne |

Yeah - it's popular, it sold out, I get it. Congrats to them - really, I am very happy for them. It's good to see people get rewarded for hard work.
And I didn't order it from Amazon for the "Amazon price" ... I would have been happy to give my $ to Paizo if I would have known it was the only was to secure my book.

From my own experience with Amazon when it was late sending the pre-ordered 4e box set: Complain. Repeatedly, every time they break a promise. The people in India then start throwing $5 and $10 credits at you, making the book even cheaper, and then it also comes faster when copies are miraculously found.
Unfortunately, I didn't like 4e, despite all the discounts.

...
They really didn't know unfortunately - they were being "Aggressively optimistic" on the print run, but apparently not aggressive enough :)
I would say that pre-ordering from the publisher would tend to be the "safest bet" for anything, but this was so far from expected (by most) that making your decision based on that would have been a far-fetched reason at the time.
Still plenty of chances I'm sure to get it from game stores or book stores - call around your local area next week if you haven't gotten notice from where you've ordered it.
Edit: Ninja'd by you :) - and, ya, if you have an August delivery date, you likely have nothing to worry about. I imagine Amazon knows how short they are by now.

So would I if the wife didn't kill me for it. My oldest is off to college out of state (to Missouri State) and I have to watch the expenditures. Besides, this way I can afford the PDF too :)

There are those of us who pre-ordered on the Paizo website who still haven't gotten our copies yet. I, for one, have a 4-8 day delivery time so it's possible I won't get mine till next Monday or later(I know I haven't recieved it yet).
I had gotten the info they were shipping early and ordered from the site in hopes to get it on time or early because I'm running a gameday this weekend. So hopefully It comes before then.
